Now I wonder why it took me so long to make a switch. I started Mint Mobile about two weeks ago and was able to take advantage of special pricing - buy 3 months / get 3 months free. The service provided is much better voice quality and faster/more reliable data. The activation process was fast and easy. I ported my number with took about 2-1/2 hours. The special promo 3 months free did not appear on my account until about 24 hours later.

Mint is perfect for anyone with low budget as their lowest plan (5GB/month) is only $15.

I just hoped that Best Buy would have had them in stock like normal. But this one did work, even though it appeared to have been previously opened. I did not get a discount on the purchase of previously opened product.

Mint Mobile 5 dollar, 5 day trial SIM card

A small quirk occurred--I used up the 250 MB of data and could not send or receive texts, even though I had not used anywhere near 250 texts allowed. I still received calls however. Still a great way to allow a trial before buying a plan.
