I pay 191$ for 3 lines with a major carrier, and we’ve been talking about trying a cheaper alternative for a long time. Mint is one that we were leaning towards, so a 7-day trial is pretty ideal. As far as making phone calls, it works, which is what I ask of my phone carrier. It also didn’t drop my calls to a friend on a prepaid plan as frequently, which is a plus. It has the standard texting too, which didn’t seem to fail any more often than my main carrier - I’ve checked, and I live in a bad service area for everybody, apparently. My main concern is data, which is, on this trial, on the “ok” side of average - but I’m not getting anything better currently, either, with how the unlimited 5g data is throttled to uselessness at half of my monthly hotspot cap. We will be crunching some numbers and using the rest of the trial to decide if mint is worth it. Considering multiple plans like a la carte tray, which I can tailor to my family’s needs, the option to change it when I need to, and no threat of an 18 month hostage situation (device lease-then-buy-or-give-it-back-because-you-didn’t-pay-for-it-you-just-paid-to-use-it program), I think it’s much more flexible than what we have. And honestly, they’re all basically the same in my research so far; certainly the big ones are, so for what utility I need, it does the trick.

$5 is pretty cheap but discounted to $1 on sale is even better. Good voice and data in areas with service, spotty on the fringes of coverage. Website for activation is hit or miss sometimes but tech support is fairly good.

I bought this to get a mobile number to port out to another carrier that offered a big discount if you port in a number from another carrier. I had to call Mint to get my account information to give to the new carrier.

Works as intended. The network coverage is pretty fair.

Nice product had good signal and done trial but didn't use after this one week

I was able to pick the sim kit from Best buy store. The process is easy and sim activation took sometime but its completely with Mint mobile nothing do with Best buy

Just getting started with mint but so far I'm impressed with their cool no fuss no mas attitude and the trial which will reimburse sim fee.so they are not THE absolute lowest price for monthly wireless plans. But maybe overall for the bundles they offer you can't beat that price.

No thrills sim card, did what i expected it would. Make sure to check your phone capability for gsm or cdma, i used this for gsm.

It was very helpful for a temporary fix to get my phone up and running until my permanent card came in.

The sim cards performed as I expected. The price was good and the employee that served me was very friendly. I will definitely be back again.

This is a great way to test drive this cost effective service. I made the switch and have had this service for 2 years.

Mint isn’t the easiest to switch to but it’s dirt cheap

So yes, they have very cheap prepaid service, amazing customer service, and a great activation process which is very simple and straightforward. But there is definitely a catch, regardless of what their marketing says. The catch is that Mint has the WORST coverage and data de-prioritization I have experienced on any carrier, even T-Mobiles own prepaid service and other T-Mobiles MVNOs. The map said that the entire area I'm in has both indoor & outdoor 4G LTE coverage, but that is not the case. Tried several different LTE phones I had laying around, from a Droid 4 to a Moto X 2014 to an iPhone SE to an iPhone 5 to a Moto G7 to an Alcatel GoFlip, all of which were confirmed to be compatible, and NONE had consistent coverage anywhere near me up until I entered the bigger-city area 45 minutes away from me. The map on the site claimed that I should've had coverage everywhere. Entered my exact address and everything and it claimed there was strong coverage but I never saw a single bar of signal and customer service told me to enable WiFi calling instead of addressing my complaint about their own map and representatives claiming that I should've had coverage even though I had to drive 20 miles north to get any signal. So I mean, year, if you live in the middle of a big city, never plan on leaving the greater parts of your metro area and never plan on traveling, it's great. Otherwise you're out of luck.
