Just need an unlocked phone. Setup is easy. Just download the app and enter SIM card number and phone IMEI. If you buy during holidays, Mint usually gives additional months for free.

I use less than one gig of data per month talk less than 350 minutes and text a couple hundred times. My Mint plan is the least expensive that I have found and I love that. I ported my phone number over to Mint myself and had no problems. I have been in a couple of places where I didn't get a signal but generally it seems to work.

However, installation is very "DIY" so if you aren't tech savvy enough to navigate a website you should have someone who is help you or go with a different provider as the process could be more user friendly. Also, on occasion my text messages aren't sent or I don't get other people's texts, but that could be my phone so I'm not deducting a star for that.

I am a power user so I got the unlimited data plan, and even after my 35 gigabytes of data are up, I still rarely see a slowdown in speed. Wish I had switched sooner.

Just another child mobile service of Tmobile

Since it is Tmobile's child service, they use Tmobile towers and they have weak spots some where, some place.
