Inexpensive option

I switched phones at the same time that I switched carriers, and I'm unsure whether or not some of the issue that I've encountered spring from that. I switched to Mint from another pre-paid carrier, and I've experienced some . . . oddities . . . since switching. First, Mint is EXTREMELY self-serve. Don't expect much in the way of hand holding in terms of getting setup. I had to Google for the APN settings for my phone as the defaults didn't work. Using the defaults, I couldn't send text messages, and the first two APN settings I tried didn't allow me to send multi-media text messages. This was a bit of a pain. On top of that, roaming was not enabled by default. I would often find myself without any data while running errands around town. In terms of call quality, I've encountered some really weird dead spots since switching. Individual spaces in parking lots fail to get service for some reasons. Fortunately, I have good and strong signal strength from within my home. In short, I'm not sure whether I'd recommend this service or not. Hopefully, things will become clearer the next time I upgrade my phone.
