Customers are impressed with the picture quality, particularly the black levels and HDR performance of this TV. Many also praised the contrast and color accuracy, while some found the price to be exceptionally good value. However, negative feedback focused on the remote control's usability and the upscaling capabilities for lower-resolution content.

Astonishing picture quality and value

I researched this new tv before purchasing and it lives up to the hype. Vizio, once considered a value brand, has exceeded all of my expectations with this set. There are no compromises and if you compare the specs on this versus brands such as Samsung, Sony, and LG, this has them beat, especially when you factor in the price. Granted, the OLEDs from LG use a superior technology and will give a better overall picture quality you must consider they cost 3-5 thousand more. Everything from the build quality to picture is amazing. You have to give it to Vizio on this one. What they've been able to achieve from an engineering standpoint for the price they're asking is quite remarkable. Gaming on this set is second to none, both on console and PC. If you're in the market for a new Tv and want something somewhat future proof this is the one to get. If you don't mind spending a few thousand more I'd go with and LG OLED, but even then I'd still give this tv a serious thought due to the ability to play games at 1080p@120fps. Lastly, the Smartcast feature is without a doubt the future of smart tv functionality. The included tablet is very good quality and it works with any phone or tablet. This is the tv to beat for 2016 and I'm not very confident they can be beat.

Getting the unit fixed this week. TV has a decent picture, but the screen freezes requiring me to pull the plug and at times I will be watching and it does a reboot. Hopefully this will be fixed when the tech comes out. Good customer support so far.

Unbelievable value and future proof investment!

This tv has continued to impress me over the past two weeks that I have owned it. The picture quality is truly remarkable, especially with 4K content such as Vudu's UHD version of "Mad Max: Fury Road" and Netflix's "Marco Polo." This is easily the best value in the store in my opinion as it the only current tv to satisfy HDR 10 and Dolby Vision as well as full array local dimming for hundreds less than the competition. This model should be future proof for both UHD streaming and 4K Blu-Ray content as a result. The gaming experience from my PS4 is also fantastic with the low latency input offered by the fifth HDMI port and dedicated "Game" mode.
Beyond the outstanding picture quality, the accompanying tablet plus Google Cast system works really well for all streaming media such as Netflix and YouTube. Vizio recently updated the Smart Cast app which has sped up response times and connectivity that plagued a few early reviews. It's a great solution that is again future proof since you can cast with any Apple or Android device.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase and it's been thrilling to experience new and old movies and games on this tv. Highly recommended to anyone looking to upgrade!
One more suggestion: buy a Blu-Ray player that supports 4K upscaling. Many of my old discs look just as good as 4K content!

In this price range, this is hands-down the best 4K television currently available. The black levels are amazing, the picture can become super-bright when needed, and the colors are just beautiful.
It is not without some flaws, though (and if you read many reviews on any other LCD TV out there, you'll see they all have some kinds of issues.) The mini-tablet remote included with this set is very nice, but can be rather flakey at times. 90% of the time it is fine, but at times you may have to close and relaunch a particular video app to get it working correctly again, or just reboot the tablet altogether.
As with most LCD TVs, the built-in speakers are rather weak and unsatisfying. I have our display connected to a Dolby 5.1 and it freaking ROCKS! Every night at home is like going to the movies.
Problems aside, if you are looking for a great TV in the $2K range, you'll have a very hard time doing any better than this Vizio, I've been impressed by it since the second it came out of the box.

My first tv froze periodically. I called Vizio. They sent me a new one. This TV froze as well. They sent a third one. That one destroyed its firmware trying to update it. They are now processing a refund but that will take two months. Very disappointed with Best Buy and Vizio. When I went back to the store to discuss the issue, the same associate who sold me the TV said to me that freezing is a normal issue with Vizio.

GREAT TV AND EXCELLENT VALUE

This is one of those buys where you definitely wont second guess it afterwards but instead feel great because not only did you get a product that is of great quality, but is leading edge and beats products that costs hundreds or thousands of dollars more. My guess would be that every other TV manufacturer will second guess their release and pricing structure because of this TV.
For $2,000 (for me it was on sale for $1,800 in local bestbuy store, always go to your local store and see what the people in store can do for you before you just get stuff online) you get a full 65" 4k TV, HDR capability WITH active LED dimming and 10-bit panel so not a Half-A** version of HDR either but actually GOOD HDR, and you have Chromecast built in. I am so glad that VIZIO got rid of the tv-tuners and bogus software, its just more failure points and makes it hard to update later down the road. Google definitely will support its chromecast and since VIZIO saves money on all this you now save money.
For the people who complain about there not being a tuner...seriously? who uses an antenna anymore? and even if you do use one, devices like NVIDIA shield will be able to take OTA signals from a tuner attachment to act like a DVR...much better than any TV can do. So yeah, I am super glad they got rid of it on the TV and made this cheaper for us.
When comparing to the other VIZIO models (P, M, E, or D), the P is definitely worth it for your main tv. The M would make for a good PC gaming TV. E would make for a good cheap console gaming TV or bedroom TV. D is just for your cheap spare room that you dont care about but want a good looking display. P-premium, M-midrange, E-entry, and D-discounted/defective (my guess since it happens to be the panels that dont include any of the special features that the others can which is probably due to some reason like they couldnt get it to work properly and instead of throwing them away decided to just sale them really cheap. not a bad thing if you get it for those rooms you want a quality display but dont want to spend so much you will feel bad for not watching it every day). Long story short, if you are getting a TV for your main display (movie/games/tv) go for the P, only a hundred to a couple hundred more and its definitely worth it for future-proofing. Now if you already have a great main TV that has all the bells and whistles already and you wont be watching it all the time, go for the M instead and save the couple hundred.
With the money saved I'd recommend getting a warranty for peace of mind and one of the new sound bars coming out for these tvs (they arent out yet. the new ones work with the new smartcast app)

I am not a videophile (if that is even a thing), by any means. But I do appreciate quality products and quality movie watching/game playing. Right out of the box (after firmware updates of course), this display was fantastic. I immediately started watching Stranger Things, and was blown away by the brightness, contrast and colors that it produced! The blacks were outstanding!
I upgraded from a 10 year old 46" Sony XBR LCD, so you can imagine difference. I loved that TV and it is still going strong, but the P65-C1's quality is simply jawdropping!
The unboxing and setup was easy. Even the tablet remote (despite other negative reviews) was not as bad I expected. As a current Android phone user, I was able to figure it out pretty quick. I do not plan to use it for casting, since I own an Xbox One S, and prefer to stream via the console.
So far I have nothing negative to say about it, however, I do intend to update my review, should anything come to light. Stay tuned!

I bought this TV because it came highly rated from CNet unfortunately this TV has been nothing but a nightmare. I am getting ready to return my second P65 in a month due to display issues. Vizio has not been helpful and their customer service is of no help. I a, looking for an alternative at this point because I am done with Vizio.

This is an amazing Tv. I currently have a 55in Oled in my bedroom but wanted to upgrade my living room Tv; however, i did not want to pay the Oled price again. So i found this Vizio 65P-C1(FYI the same Tv as the 2017 model) and i have been happy with it. The blacks are closest i've seen to my Oled. The colors are vibrant and detail is great. Lower resolution upscaling below 720p is a weak area of this Tv; however, i stream 720p content and above so i have no issues. Great tv for gaming with low input lag about 16ms(amazing). HDR 10 looks great on this Tv; however, Dolby Vision is amazing on this tv. I ordered Pacific Rim on Vudu and it looked amazing and this is streaming. Just wait until Dolby Vision Blu ray's start shipping. The closest Tv that matches the features that this Tv offers is the Sony 65x930e which will offer Dolby Vision, HDR 10, and is brighter; however, it does not have Full array local dimming so blacks wont be as black as this vizio. Lastly the Price Difference between the Sony x930e and Vizio P Series is over $1,300. I couldn't be more pleased with this. Also, this summer Vizio will be releasing a firmware update that will enable on screen Smart Tv Apps. So if your not really into casting, you won't have to soon.

I do love the picture quality and the cast capabilities of this TV. this is the future of smart TVs. But I did find one annoying bug with this TV when paired to a soundbar. The TV should be able to control the volume of the soundbar through CEC, but it only works partially. vol+ works most of the time, but vol- doesnt work until I mute/unmute . Strange software bug .
So I am using the soundbar remote to manage the volume for now. Hopefully they fix this CEC bug soon.

Awesome For Home Theatre

I purchased this today from Bestbuy. Brought it home, hung it up on the wall in my private viewing room. After hanging this up and connecting all of the cables, I only spent 15 minutes adjusting settings. The Vizio went through 2 automatic updates. Pairing the tablet was a breeze as was connecting with my speaker bar. I watched this for about 7 hours today, viewing different materials from SAT. SD/HD, Bluray and 4KUHD "The Martian". I'm very picky with picture quality and all I can say is that I can't find any flaws and the colors and black levels are spot on! GREAT job Vizio. I liked this one so much I purchased a 2nd one today but the 2015 model. Though a difference it picture it too looks good. The is an awesome buy for $1999.

After extensive research for almost a year I finally purchased my 65" 4K Display. What I really wanted was the new OLED E6P/G6P from LG because they are absolutely the best but starting at $6,000.00 that was more than I wanted to spend.
I've been following AV Forums and reading independent reviews for months and the best 65" Display for $2,000.00 is hands down the Vizio P65.....this is something I thought I would never say because Vizio has always been a lower end brand.
The casting feature is convenient and very cool I also think this will be the future of Video Displays. I can cast any content including 4K from my cell phone with the SmartCast App or with the 6" tablet/remote that is included.
I'm not one to compare TV's at the store because there are to many variables that interfere with correct viewing such as lighting and content being played. There are also sales staff that always have their (favorite) brands so this can be a deterrent as well.
This Vizio also supports Dolby Vision and is about to release a downloadable firmware update for HDR10 so it's pretty much future proof. Do not buy a TV that isn't supporting Dolby Vision because it cannot be added at a later time with a firmware update, it's hardware unlike the HDR10.
The blacks on this set is great only supassed by the very expensive OLED and the colors are beautiful.
Great display with a great price, you would spend twice as much for a set as good as this.
