Customers are impressed with the picture quality, particularly the black levels and HDR performance of this TV. Many also praised the contrast and color accuracy, while some found the price to be exceptionally good value. What a great value, one of the only 4k TVs to offer both Dolby Vision and HDR-10 (upcoming update) on the market. FALD technology also, all this sold me on giving it a try, and I am glad I did. Stunning picture on BluRays and Vudu 4k Dolby Vision streaming is amazing. I had some initial motion issues with DirecTv but I was able to resolve by turning off and Video conversion occurring via my AVR. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

A future proof TV w/great cost and benefits now

MY SHORT REVIEW - If you want a larger, future proof (HDR support) TV for Gaming (Xbox One/PS4 tested) or Movies (Blu-Ray tested) - THIS TV IS PERFECT!!!!!! Now, here is my long review that might hopefully help whoever takes the time to read it. My experience buying this Vizio - Something you should know before reading. I bought last years 70' as my main TV for our living room. I bought it simply because it was the best bang for my buck at that size. Were there TVs with better picture at the time? Sure, but at the 70' size I would have had to spend at least $1,000 more. Now, fast forward to this year. I saved up my money to buy a new TV for my basement. My main purpose for buying this TV was for gaming (Xbox One/PS4) and movies. I had saved up enough to buy the best TV I could between 55'-70'. I wasn't going to sacrifice quality to save money to just buy the bigger screen. I actually had it in my mind that I was going to buy a Samsung or a Sony because those have always been the best TVs. Honestly, they are beautiful TVs and made my choice extremely hard! BUT!!!!!!!! I ended up buying this. The VIZO P-65. Why? Well, it was honestly a bit of an impulse buy. I had done a lot of research on all of the TVs I was looking at buying, all of the Sonys and all of the Samsungs, all of which had great reviews but were more in the 55' size range. Then I saw that Vizio had recently released the P65-C1. I was intrigued. Like I said, I bought last years 70' and was very satisfied with it. Was it the best picture, ehhh, was it the brightest, no, but it was and still is a very nice TV. The early reviews and assessments of the 2016 P series sounded amazing! HDR support for both upcoming formats, better color and contrast than previous Vizios, better brightness.....basically the few issues I had with past year models were supposedly fixed in this new model, along with the fact that this TV would support either format of the new HDR technology. Sounded too good to be true for a brand new, $2000, 65' TV. So, having done my research and reading reviews, I went to my local Best Buy to compare and the TVs to the "eye test". There's a Sony, 55', in my price range, not bad! There's the Samsung, 55', curved, beautiful! Wait....where's the new Vizio? I asked the associate. Well, it is too new and they don't have it displayed yet...Great, looking at all of these TVs, ready to buy, and the TV I was most excited to see isn't on the floor. Well, the associate said they had 1 of them in the back, he thought was the one for the floor, but there were no restrictions in the system not to sell it. He said I could buy it if I wanted to. Well great, I have 2 great looking 55' TVs I can see (sony and samsung) right in front of me and a 65' Vizio that I've HEARD great things about, a few hundred dollars more expensive sitting in a box. No eye test. I went out on a limb, spent a few hundred more, a gave Vizio the benefit of the doubt! (Thanks Best Buy for the security of a great return policy just in case!!) So why did I buy the Vizio and what are my thoughts after owning it for about a month. Without seeing the TV on display, I bought the Vizio based purely on advanced reviews and tech specs. I think the main reason was because of the HDR support and the fact that once this new content starts rolling out, I won't have to buy another new TV. SO! I finally got the TV home and set up. Set up was a breeze and I used calibration settings from a site called rtings.com. The site that basically reviewed this TV right into my hands. (http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/vizio/p-series-2016) The first thing I did, started my Xbox One and put in The Division. WOW! This looks fantastic! Literally every issue I had with last year's Vizio was fixed with this TV. The colors, the contrast, THE BRIGHTNESS! The game looked wonderful and played smooth, no lag whatsoever! Ok, that game is a bit dark by nature, next game. Mad Max. Again, beautiful! The bright sun on the vast sand landscape, the game looked vibrant and awesome! Everything I was looking for in a gaming TV. I won't go through and list every game I tried (BF4, Dying Light, etc..), but trust me, this TV is awesome with Video Games! Next, movies! Full disclosure, I don't rate my viewing experience on streaming, too many quality variables. Also, this TV is in a basement with little to no sunlight. I used Blu-Ray running through my Xbox One. First test, Jurassic World. Beautiful!!!! Awesome color, great contrast, deep black levels, smooth motion. Perfect for me and what I was looking for! Vizio doesn't just continue to deliver "the best bang for your buck" but I believe they have outdone themselves and have actually delivered a high quality TV with a picture quality that rivals and possibly beats TVs that are hundreds and thousands of dollars more expensive. If $4000 or $5000 is easy for you to spend on OLED and the likes, by all means more power to you and I'm sure those TVs will beat this one. BUT, if you are looking for a large, future proof TV, this TV will not disappoint!

Visio really excelled with this tv. I purchased the Sony XBR65X930D and the Samsung UN65JS9000FXZA. Wasn't really satisfied with either one so I decided to try the Vizio. WOW!!! This is the absolute best picture I have seen outside OLED. The blacks are so inky black it's ridiculous, plenty brightness, no ghosting or bleeding. This thing has 128 LEDs throughout the screen and they work independently so it puts the edge lighting systems to shame. From the moment you power it up you know you made the right choice. It's amazing Vizio could make this quality product for this price. Just buy it, you won't be disappointed

very impressed with the TV. I was a little worried buying it in the USA since I am from Canada. but everything works and casts properlly. when I run netflix I get the Canadian Netflix but if I run a VPN server app and select USA and then run Netflix I get the american Netflix very cool glad they let the tablet have full access to the play store Hulu does not work though because it is us only but there are so.many TV app providers it does not matter. the only thing that is bugging me is the tablet has a high pitch squeal sound when the brightness is set to anything below 100. I contacted vizio about it. just waiting for a reply. the picture quality is amazing but my satellite on the regular standard definition Chanel's look bad but they did on my 1080p Panasonic vierra too. definatley the sat system just not being good enough. both sat providers in Canada still can only broadcast 1080i lol. the streaming though is really clear for Netflix looks way better then HD. youtube looks amazing also. I am going to get rid of my sat and use the extra 50 bucks a month for streaming subscriptions instead. just not worth having a provider that still runs standard definition channels and to go full HD it is about 120 a month for a decent package. gaming on the xboxone is superb no problems..

Best TV right now for 4k/1080p

I did alot of research and pined over buying a new TV for about 2 years until i finally settled on this. I've always been a Samsung guy, and was looking at their curved glass. Vizio was always kind of a cheap brand to me. Well not anymore. 'What a great TV for the money' is doing this a disservice. It's a great TV and an unbelievable price. You get both HDR tech, 4k, 128 zone full array lighting, Dolby Full Spectrum and of course the tablet. Let's get the tablet out of the way. Ya its great, ya you control the tv with it, and ya it has google cast, all cool things they work great its very intuitive, and you can install the app on any phone not just the tablet that came with it so you can use your phone too. Now that's done lets talk about picture. It's not a big selling point to me because i use my xbox for everything but its still cool to have and works well and if it's a point of Interest for your purchase, then yse buy it because you will love it. The app blends everything into one location so you can click movies > new releases > click movie and it will tell you where you can watch it (Hulu, Vudu, Netflix, or Cable/DirecTV) and if its free or costs anything and much more. Picture (why i bought it): 4k is amazing. It looks as good as an OLED if not better. Blacks are deep and rich and the colors, are bright and full, especially with HDR. All the 4k stuff on Youtube is great, + all the go pro footage. We haven't watched a movie yet, i'm waiting for my optical cable, but we've streamed things. All look great. I even streamed the LG OLED demos they play on the LG tv's in the store from Youtube. Looks just like the OLED does. 1080p BR Scaling: We watched the newer Tron the first night we had it. It was only 1080p. The Dolby Vision was off the chain. The blacks were deep and detailed, and the colors like on the light cycles or on their suits everyone wore were from another world. The orange and blue on the suits glowed so bright it could be blinding and the blacks were so dark and detailed it looked like you were looking into a window with 0 bleed or bloom. The beginning where Flynn is talking to his son and there is a lamp between them while they talked to each other. It was so bright, just the lamp, i had to adjust the back light because i had to squint. Again, just the lamp, not the rest of the picture. This also didn't effect the fidelity of the lamp it just looked like a real bright lamp in a room. The 1080p up scaling great. The 1080p blu rays look almost as good as 4k with no light blooms no bleeding, jitters, blurs or aliasing the picture is just amazing. Now, anything under 1080p still looks good but it after being spoiled with 4k/1080p scaler. 720 and under start to look like SD TV did when HD first came out. It of course will not look good as your 1080p TV because that TV can adjust the scale for the input. 720p is 720p, 1080p is 1080p. EVERYTHING is up-scaled to 4k on the vizio So some fidelity is lost on anything under 4k. 1080p is very minimal if noticeable at all, but this is really only noticeable for normal TV, even DirecTV. But its not all that bad, The scaler is much better in this Vizio than in those sub $1000 4ks that's for sure. Gaming: I'm a big gamer, I play XBOX One primarily and this TV is amazing as well for gaming. You don't need to use any of the motion blur/ jitter reduction it looks smooth without it. There is a 'gaming' setting for low latency but the picture looks weird to me i don't use it. Almost like the refresh rate was being taxed. However I notice no latency when playing games without it, so i don't use it. The Division graphics look cool but a bit washed because its always happening in snow. Forza looks fantastic, 65" 1080p up-scaled to 4k - i can race in cockpit mode no problem with all HUD off because i can see the dashboard. Sports game look photo real, such as madden or NHL. Sports are quick and settled. There is no motion blurring i mean their maybe some but not noticeable, Basketball looks great such as the final 4 that was recently on. Overall i can't say enough good things about this TV I went from an ultra slim 1080p Samsung to this, both are great TV's for their era. This is just the best right now. There is nothing to compare it too because there is no 65" TV with all the features this TV has for under $3800. 65". TV Speakers: They are ok - better than average. I didn't use them much as i have a 5.1 system, but i would expect more from the HK badge combined with the size of the speakers on the tv. Pros: Has all the technology you want in a 4k, price, gaming, sports, picture Cons: any content under 1080p is ruined for the rest of your life. HK speakers are OK and will do the job.

This TV is BY FAR the best TV I've ever owned. This Vizio replaced a Samsung JS8500 (which I sold to a friend) and it BLOWS it out of the water! Black levels are AMAZING! Right up there with OLED. (I owned a 55 OLED for a few days, but returned it because it was just too smaill.) I can tell you that this TV comes very close to hanging with the OLED! Colors are fantastic, dolby vision (Mad Max, Lego Movie, Pacific Rim, etc.) look AMAZING! The tablet works great and casting couldn't be any easier. I now prefer the tablet "remote" to the standard remote. Vizio has made me a believer! This TV cost half of what the others do and puts out a far superior image. Do yourself a favor and pick one of these up now!

This set has only been out for a little while, so reliability and firmware/software support remains to be seen as with any new product. However it'd be silly to have too much doubt as Vizio is making some very aggressive moves in the home theater department and I only expect them to really push this as their mass market flagship with a lot of support. The picture is amazing, I'm blown away by the brightness achievable across the full panel. I'm am new to LEDLCD (previous plasma owner) but the viewing angle is pretty solid, and the colors, contrast, and clarity are absolutely satisfactory for someone who is big into gaming and sports. The bottom line for non-rich people is the fact that no other tv offers comparable features at a close price. You'll probably spend 20-50 percent more for another tv that comes close to matching/exceeding this tv that offers: 65 inch, 4k, hdr, full array local dimming (huge difference maker), has wide app support that theoretically will never get abandoned (most tv's built in apps age terribly), a "dedicated" gaming input, 10 bit color panel, adds a tablet to use as remote or just as a general tablet, and is controlled by your phone if you want... Jeeze I just have never been so satisfied with a tech purchase and have seldom felt like I got such value on a product. My xbox one looks great on it and the force awakens was eyeball melting even though it was just 1080. The brightness capability makes a huge difference even on 720-1080 content

    Samsung fanboy converts.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Prior to this tv I have been buying strictly Samsung TVs for the last decade or so, my last one being a UN65H7150. After reading the specs on the P series and seeing the price tag on the UN65KS8000 I decided to buy both to compare them. The only thing that Samsung did a bit better was upconvert 1080p material to 4k. Vizio in the past did not do this very well but they have significantly improved it (to the point where it's not an issue) and for my setup I can just use my HTPC to do the upconversion. Vizio absolutely kills it in all of my other tests however. With the full array local dimming (and enough zones to do the job, the M series doesn't really cut it) the blacks are so much blacker then the KS8000 it's ridiculous. I don't think I could ever go back to edgelit again. And this is with non-hdr content. Watching Pacific Rim in Dolby Vision (hdr), which Samsung chose not to support this generation, is nothing short of amazing. The abusrd color and clarity this tv puts out on that movie alone was enough to seal the deal. How it can display something so inky black and something else so brilliantly bright at the same time is stunning. Many streaming services are adopting dolby vision and it requires special hardware, so its not possible for samsung to simply add it in. I don't think anything short of oled can compete with this tv.

I've owned the Eg9600 oled and I currently have the js9500 in my living room with the Vizio p series in my game room. At $2000 this tv hangs with the "name brands". What Vizio brings to the table at half the price of Samsung, Sony or LG is remarkable. Great black level, very little blooming, colors look great and accurate. Dont be turned away buy the Vizio name. Trust me. Even if you have the money to purchase a more expensive tv (Samsung, Sony, lg) you'd just be doing so to be brand loyal. Honestly the Vizios picture is on par with the other flagship models but brings much more to the table. 5 HDMI ports with a true 120hz input, Dolby Vision HDR, soon to be adding HDR 10! Great Job Vizio! Keep up the good work.

Nothing sacrificed with this unit. Beautiful unit, picture and technically ahead of its time as well as cheap. Well below my budget for HDR/Dolby Vision Unit. Used the difference to buy a SONOS system. Best buy salesman knew the sector well. Spent over 1 month researching TVs. From zero home theatre to one that I enjoy for TV and music!. Nice being able to commit a much lower sum for the TV today knowing in 5 years I can get the next wave.

What's up with the 1 star reviewer? Maybe works for Samsung. This T.V. is absolutely awesome. Early delivery from Best Buy and easy setup. Love the tablet remote. Definitely next best thing to OLED and only $1999.00. Stunning 4k sampling on YouTube. I have the Xfinity X1 DVR service and the upscaling is very nice. My last several T.V. 's have been Samsungs. This replace's a 65" plasma. Plasma has a nice pictue but to hot and power hungry. No need to spend any more money for the other over priced brands.

I'm really happy with the PQ on this TV. The HDR is excellent, and the regular picture is great, too. I like the tablet remote, too, and the fact that I can download the App to use my SmartPhone to control the TV as well. I can watch my shows on the big screen and give the tablet to my kids to stream their shows. Competitors charge way more for less.

Awful! HUGE circuit board and power supply issue.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is a review of both the product and my so called 5 year Geek Squad extended warranty service. Let me begin with the television. While the picture is good, that is irrelevant because the TV does not stay on long enough to enjoy anything as it power cycles itself continuously. I will be lucky if I can get through a 42 minute show on my DVR without the TV shutting on and off a dozen or more times. I end up going and watching my older model Philips flat screens, which I have had no such issues with the entire 8 years I have had them. A quality control plus for Philips. The Tablet remote that comes with this unit could be cool but, again, if it worked. The connection between the tablet and TV is lost more often than not, which interrupts the cast, but again could be because of the power issue with the TV as it is not on long enough to have an extended trial. On the plus side, the television has a great picture from what I have seen, the tablet remote seems to be a cool idea to stream directly from the preset device, and also has well enough inputs to support all of the tech that I am so fortunate to have. This is still a 1 star review, though, because the television does not stay on long enough to enjoy any of these things. No on to the Geek Squad support. I purchased the 5 year extended plan on this television simply because of the cost. At $2k, I want to be sure if ANYTHING goes wrong, I am able to either get it repaired at no cost or replaced if such a case arises that it cannot be repaired. I purchased this unit on April 17. I immediately began having issues once I hooked it up that night. I went into the Best Buy store and spoke with the salesman who assisted me the day before. He suggested that I wait a week from that date and, if I were still having issues, then call geek squad support. Being as trusting as I am with Best Buy, I have him the benefit of the doubt and sucked it up until the following week. Low and behold, the TV was still having problems, if more frequently than originally noted. I then called geek squad support on April 25. The person on the phone SEEMED knowledgeable and ordered two parts, the circuit board and power supply, scheduled me for service on that Saturday, April 30 in the AM, and explained what I thought would be a simply process. On the morning of April 28, two days prior to the tech scheduled to arrive, I get a phone call from Geek Squad support stating that the parts that were ordered for repair will not be in on time and they have rescheduled me for Wednesday of the following week. I work during the week, so this obviously did not work for me and yet they automatically scheduled me anyway. I quickly called back and rescheduled for the next Saturday, now pushing the repair to May 7. In the time between, the parts arrive, and I eagerly and patiently wait for the tech to come fix my TV. May 7 rolls around and the guys get there pretty early. They remove the TV from the stand, take the back off, and go to open the parts. THE WRONG PARTS WERE ORDERED. There was nothing that the techs could do but apologize. Frustrated and honestly angered, I waited while the tech called his own support and ordered the new parts and AGAIN rescheduled my repair visit for 2 weeks later, putting it at May 21, which would have been TODAY. The morning of May 19, again two days prior to my scheduled visit, I get a call from Geek Squad support stating that the parts would YET AGAIN not arrive on time and they rescheduled me for May 30, yet another weekday, in which I am unavailable, without checking with me. I call back YET AGAIN, rather infuriated, while remaining calm, and just asked what the deal was with these parts and why they kept rescheduling me on weekdays when I clearly only schedule services on weekends due to my work schedule. All they could do was apologize for the continual delays blah blah blah. No headway and I am still stuck with this $2k paperweight. Yet, I still repress and agree to reschedule YET AGAIN for May 28, two days prior to when the parts are scheduled to arrive, hoping that someone somewhere gets their head out of their hind quarters to fix this problem that I will, as of May 28, be 6 weeks stuck with. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENT FOR THIS LEMON ITEM. Almost to the point of taking a hammer to the television, I call back once again, asking to speak to a manager as I am fed up with the level of support and resolution that I have received to this point given I paid an extra $400 for the additional warranty through Geek Squad. After discussing with the woman on the line who, was quite pleasantly I must say, I get someone that was supposed to help me, only to have her tell me I need to wait until Monday, May 22, to call back as that is 14 days from when the parts were ordered and they have a 14 day lemon policy if the parts do not arrive and so will replace it that day. On that day, I need to call Geek Squad support YET AGAIN to request a LEMON REPLACEMENT, at which point they will send me paperwork that I need to fill out, take in to a store, talk to a sales agent, and arrange delivery of my replacement and removal of the monstrosity that is currently in my living room. Additionally, they had to MAKE AN EXCEPTION to reinstate my 5 year warranty as, "GENERALLY SPEAKING, ANY LEMON REPLACEMENTS VOID THE 5 YEAR GEEK SQUAD SUPPORT AND I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW WARRANTY WITH THE REPLACEMENT TV." What?!? Because I got a lemon out of the box, you are going to punish me, not the manufacturer, for replacing something that I paid additional money to ensure was working properly? THAT IS RIDICULOUS. At a loss for words, I just accepted what I had to do, regardless of the inconvenience already suffered and still must endure before my $2500 spent POTENTIALLY gets to be truly enjoyed. If I could give a zero star review, I would, but I had to enter something even though the product I ordered was DOA and the Geek Squad "support" I received has yet to resolve the problem near 6 weeks later. I know this review was long winded, but I truly hope it helps one consider other TV options until Vizio gets their act together and fixes this problem, and ALSO reconsiders purchasing Geek Squad protection and potentially orders the warranty from the manufacturer, who I am sure would have been ready and willing to resolve the problem much faster (I would hope), though I have no frame of reference because I am stuck the the Geek Squad. Happy shopping everyone!

This Display is absolutely stunning. The picture blows me away every time I turn it on. 1080p and 4k content both look incredible. I do not know how they were able to release this display at this price. Easily the best bang for your buck! Also the android tablet remote is a nice bonus.

I rarely write reviews but this TV looks so good I had to share so other people can save money. I wanted a 65" 2016 Lg Oled but for under $3000 which is not happening for another year and a half or longer so after reading the specs for this Vizio P with 128 Dimmable zones and full array dimming and HDR support I was sold. What sold me was that my sister purchased a $800 58" Vizio with 10 Dimmable zones and I thought her picture looked great, so I thought this model must be better and it blows me away how bright the lighter colors are and how deep and crisp the blacks are on the P series. I would love this TV without the tablet but being able to cast and mirror the screen from what ever app I want sends this deal into unreal for the price. Higher price competition will need to step it up for the price they demand. Kudos to Vizio. I'm now an unofficial advocate for Vizio televisions.

I have owned a Mitsubishi DLP for the last 13 years and really liked it but decided I would replace it. I have been looking for quite a while at reviews and comparing a couple of different brands. I went to Best Buy to physically compare pictures and decided on this Vizio. I mounted it myself and it takes a little time to figure out the tablet remote but I have to say I don't know how you beat the quality of this tv for the money. Picture is great and even the up scaling on Comcast really good, X1 platform not sure about standard Comcast but the X1 really good. Also bought the Samsung 4K player and the movies are unbelievable on this set. I would recommend this set to anyone.

First of all, I have never purchased top of the line when it comes to TV's. Now that I have, I will tell you that it was definitely worth it. This picture is nearly flawless. Football looks amazing. I put in a BluRay disk and it blew my mind. I own a calebration disc, and I only had to make one miner adjustment to color, otherwise the preloaded "calibrated" picture setting is near perfection. I just bought this on Black Friday so I all I have watched on it so far is an episode of The Walking Dead. I can't wait to play some Xbox on it or watch an entire BluRay movie. I have been keeping my eyes on the M series for months, and finally just bit the bullet on the P Series! This has Twice as may LED zones than the M series. That is one of the main differences for the money. I would recommend this TV to anyone! Very pleased thus far.....

The tablet remote control leaves much to be desired in terms of reliability and speed but the television itself is excellent. i was on the fence between this and a oled due to their black levels but this television has great black levels

This display is amazing. I'm not sold on the VizioCast as of yet, but it is cool. Amazon Prime Video will not cast to the Vizio (google) TV though. Calibration with the test patterns make this TV breathtaking. Cheaper that the mighty Sony... BUY IT!

Purchased this a few weeks ago. Terrific blacks from the Active zones. The viewing angle leaves a bit to be desired but that's LED. Worth the money for sure.
