Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the picture quality, particularly the black levels and HDR performance of this TV. Many also praised the contrast and color accuracy, while some found the price to be exceptionally good value. However, negative feedback focused on the remote control's usability and the upscaling capabilities for lower-resolution content.

    Best spec for the price

If you are in the market for a TV and are looking in this price range then this is a deal. The pure spec's on this TV are among the best you can purchase outside an OLED display. Everything is a pro so I'm only listing cons below. CON: The tablet takes some getting use too. Some people may never wrap there heads around using it. Low resolution processing could be better. 1080p looks great on this TV but anything lower and you start noticing image problems. No TV tuner. Not a biggy but if your planning on cutting the cord you will need an aftermarket tuner in order to view OTA television.

    Excellent TV, excellent cost

After about 50 hours of TV research, I settled on the Vizio P65-C1. It is an amazing screen, providing excellent blacks and contrast. The image is sharp, accurate, and properly lit. The lighting zones provide a superior effect to Samsung's edge lighting, which has noticeable issues. It doesn't get quite as bright as other TVs, so it's best in a darker room. It also doesn't have the greatest low-res upscaling capabilities, but they aren't terrible. The software is basically Chromecast. It works better than Chromecast, actually, likely due to better hardware. It streams 4K beautifully smoothly. Vizio's app for controlling the TV works fairly well. It controls the TV from a phone/tablet over wifi, so no pointing or line of site is required. There are a few bugs, like it freezing when you try to turn the TV on/off IMMEDIATELY after doing the opposite. Waiting about 10 seconds prevents this issue. The volume control is quite nice. I haven't really had the need to explore the rest of the app, but I expect updates will fix the small bugs over time. Speaking of updates, the TV will need to do several software updates the first time it is connected to the internet (which should be when you set it up, as it was built to be networked). The TV does not have a tuner, so you will not be able to get TV stations on it without another device. For me, this was a plus, as I have neither used nor wanted broadcast/cable/satellite in almost a decade. If you do want it, you will need to buy a tuner/cable/satellite box, or lease one from your TV provider. I believe the TV is worth it, even if you need one. It does come with a small, basic remote, but no one in my household has used it. We all usually use Chromecast, anyway, so switching TV controls to our phones has simplified watching TV for us. My household (of very tech-literate people) enjoys this TV immensely. There is always room for improvement, but, short of an OLED screen, we believe this was the best available option on the market for a 65" 4K LED TV.

    Best TV for the price!

I am very happy with my decision to get this TV. I originally purchased the 65 inch Sonly X850D, but the edge-lit display looked AWFUL in the dark. It made the picture look cloudy during dark scenes, and the backlight shined so brightly from the edges that I could barely watch at night, so I returned it immediately. I decided I would never buy edge-lit again (which is why I ruled out the Samsung KS8000, which I heard can have pretty bad light bleed too), and so I narrowed it down to either this TV or OLED. The OLED TVs clearly had a better picture, but it was out of my budget. I found the Vizio P65-C1 in an open-box at my local Best Buy for a great price, so I got it. So far I''m thrilled by my decision. My tv channels (I have Comcast) look BETTER now on my Vizio than they did on the expensive Sony!! The tablet remote is also really cool (I don't mind using Smartcast). The full array screen looks SO good in the dark! I'm so glad I returned the Sony for this instead! If you are on the edge about getting this TV because you think the other brands like Sony and Samsung will give you higher quality, then don't be fooled! Don't get me wrong, the picture quality on the Sony was great during the day when I couldn't see the backlights, but during the night the picture was overtaken with light bleed. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the Vizio, and I have a new appreciation for the brand!

    So far, so great!

I purchased this TV a few days ago so i don't have too much experience with it yet but so far its working out nicely. I'm upgrading from a 55" LED Samsung that broke in less than 5 years of use. Initially I wasn't going to spend much on a replacement but this TV has so much value that I reconsidered. The picture looks great and the feature set is equal to or greater than much more expensive TVs. Hopefully the lesser cost doesn't correlate to poor workmanship and shorter life span. I'll update this review if anything changes but so far, I highly recommend this TV.

My bride bought this for me thinking I would be ecstatic. I admit, I didn't see the need for a 4k 65 inch TV but I was pleasantly and shockingly surprised after mounting and cabling it up. WOW, stunning!!! Fantastic! Pick a superlative adjective and you still won't do the display justice. My only issue is with my home network (and Android users have known of this issue for a over a year) is that if you have a Linksys RE6500 range expander on your network, you won't be able to cast to Netflix (unless you power off the RE6500 or can get on the Linksys beta test)

I cant really think of anything I dislike about the TV great picture the speakers are actually decent sounding. I enjoy the speed and ease of changing the inputs. Cons: only cons I would say are the terrible app tablet I don't use it unless i need to change setting witch is rarely other than that it just sits in the house untouched. last con of the TV would be the mounting spot for the legs of the TV I mounted mine to the tv stand but if I want to change the stand to one with out a mount I will need a wide tv stand since the mounts are on the edge.

Bought this strictly for the picture quality, and it is amazing!! The speakers are terrible but its pretty much to be expected from a LCD panel. The only thing better in terms of picture quality is an oled screen but it would cost much more for a smaller screen. I feel like I'll never go to the theater now!

I would definitely recommend this TV. I've had it for about 2 months now and am impressed with the picture quality, especially since many more expensive TVs are not as good. The colors and picture are sharp and look great. The one downside is that it does not have an Amazon Prime streaming app available so if you want that you'll have to get a Roku, Tivo or other similar third-party device.

I've placed an order on 4/5, received the TV on 4/9. It wasn't working from day 1. Called BB and they sent me a replacement on 4/11, really good job by BB!! It was awesome TV, HDR, Dolby Vision etc, my wife and I really enjoyed all 4K contents. When I turned the TV on yesterday, I noticed a vertical green line around middle of the screen. Tried to switched inputs thinking that it might be a source issue, nope line is there even on initial screen with Vizio logo. Called Vizio first, on hold for 45 mins no one answered. Called BB and now TV is going back for refund. I strongly believe Vizio is not a quality product with no customer support, this was my first Vizio experience and my last one. Going to buy LG 65UH7700, same price with local dimming, HDR with Dolby vision etc and most importantly better quality.

    Garbage

Where to start? Figured this was a deal at $2000 given the specs. Boy was I wrong. Upscaling on this TV is awful on anything under 1080p. Cable looks horrible. Noticeable delayed and/or inappropriate zone dimming. Turned it on this morning and bam the entire right half of the screen is tinted green, and I don't mean a little. Went away after power cycle but not dealing with this on a brand new TV. Checked AVS forums and what do you know I see pics of the same issue only theirs turned blue? I'm returning this junk ASAP. The 2015 models from the other manufacturers and now close to this price point and probably a lot better. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for, especially with a Vizio.

Dolby Vision looks great, the rest not so much

I was looking at the JS9000 65" and ordered this P series instead because it checked all the feature boxes (HDR) and was 1/3rd cheaper, but unfortunately I ended up returning the TV. The 4K looks great on this tv. The design, bezel etc. looks nice so no issues there. The SmartCast was a little glitchy with Netflix getting stuck a few times requiring a power cycle (like plug from the back). My main issue was with 1080P Comcast looking very soft (both edges, grainy, and color) no matter what picture settings I used. After playing with the settings for about a week, I decided to return and purchase the new KS8500 instead. I would never look back. It was well worth the extra $1K more for the Samsung. Hope this helps anyone on the fence.

Defective out of the box; Vizio support is excelle

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First, I can't say enough about how refreshing it is to call a manufacturer's support line and speak to US-based first line agents and 2nd & 3rd tier support engineers. Fast, efficient, no long hold times, non-argumentative and support personnel that not only speak English, they actually understand the language. We'll see how long this lasts now that Vizio has been acquired. The P65-c1 was delivered by Best Buy this afternoon on time by a professional and courteous team. This was delivery only, not installation. I declined the over priced Geek Squad install; suffice it to say I wouldn't let them mow my lawn let alone suspend a 60# slab of glass in my family room. The box did not show any damage beyond the typical rub marks incurred in shipping and there was no outward evidence of a drop or impact. The internal packaging and panel were fully intact, again with no evidence of rough handling. Immediately upon powering the panel on to begin the setup process and test before wall mounting the startup screen colors and brightness appeared out of focus with dark areas. The screen did not show any evidence of a broken panel; no jagged or diagonal lines in the picture, no spider web patterns or flashlight effect. Assuming that the odd coloring may have been an artistic choice for the setup screen I proceeded to configure the tablet, connect the tablet and TV to the wifi network, and download/install a long list of updates. The screen continued to exhibit unusual colors, random dimming & brightening of screen sections and periodic flashes all of which added to growing concern that I had lost the panel lottery and received a lemon. These fears were confirmed when attempting to view multiple media sources using the included HDMI cable and multiple high-end Redmere HDMi cables in all the HDMI ports, casting content from my android phone and tablet, and using the P65-included tablet. The left half of the screen randomly flashes, alternately displays horizontal and vertical banding, darkens to near complete black, brightens to extreme levels then seems to remove all color except for red and yellow. I followed the instructions on the Vizio support site, including factory resetting the P65 twice with no improvement. After contacting Vizio support, speaking to 3rd tier support and sending them pictures of the TV screen, they believe the backlight array is damaged. This is irreparable and will require a replacement. Of course, having Vision ship a replacement will take 8 to 16 business days, which is unacceptable for a device that is less than 4 hours old. I contacted Best Buy support and, after a somewhat tedious discussion with an ill-prepared Geek Squad member, they agreed that the TV would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, after going through the process I was informed I would have to call back tomorrow to complete the replacement process/order. The Best Buy system had not updated and it appeared that the device had not yet been delivered, and therefore couldn't be replaced. So now we'll see how efficient the replacement order process is completed tomorrow and what they estimate the time for correcting this problem. Looking at the Best Buy website it currently appears that purchasing a P65 results in an 11+ day wait for delivery. That does not node well for a happy ending.

The ARC functionality stopped outputting audio within the first 45 days. Picture is fine but this is not acceptable the TV is brand new. Best Buy wouldn't do an exchange. I had to spend 1.5 hours on the phone with Best Buy and Vizio. Vizio is supposedly sending someone out to fix it in 7 days. Had to buy a hdmi switcher with audio splitter. If I could do it over again I would have purchased a Samsung from Csotco since they have a 90 day return policy.
