Good cast and interesting story line. However, I thought the movie dragged and we only managed to watch it one time.

"MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN" is a strange movie, as director Burton's movies always have a strange tint to his films. BUT it is fantastic in 3-D !!!! Burton knows how to make great movies though. I don't want to give too much away, but allow me to state that it is NOT PECULIAR to buy this at BEST BUY! BEST BUY price for a 3-D combo. buy this and bring it back to your HOME!, to watch. GREAT 3D EFFECTS. I LOVE 3-D.

This film is a hard one to describe. We got it thinking it was a kid's movie, but there are some pretty dark scenes and themes that might not be suitable for younger audiences. The plot can also be difficult to follow for some. So beware of that. The film is awfully dark in aesthetic so be sure to watch it without a lot of ambient light in the room. The sound on the film is fantastic and really adds to the story being told.

I was excited for this movie but I feel like the books are a lot better.. but this was still enjoyable for me

I found this Tim Burton film to be excellent all around: actors are excellent, story is very interesting (reminds me a bit of the X-Men), 3D is very good, and production is well done. It kept my interest throughout, and I highly recommend this film- especially to adults. Note: The physical set is very good because it includes a 3D disc, a Blu-ray disc, a DVD disc, and digital capability.

The 3D makes this better, I really enjoyed the books but this feels like a rushed mess.

Originally had reservations about seeing this, as some of the previews were a little creepy. However, we saw this in the theater and new right away that we would add it to our collection. It has a great story line and there are great special effects. Since there are a few creepy parts, so you may want to think twice before allowing younger children to watch it. We also purchased the book and it's sequels.

Don't get me wrong, I was never a fan of the idea of turning children books into movies, but as far as the plot goes, it wasn't horrible, I still say read the books instead f just going off the movies for a plot outline. The graphics are cool, and the the plot was decent, but to fully understand the movie and it'[s nuances throughout, you will need to know the origin of the book.

This film is dripping with Tim Burton. It's a good movie and safe for the entire family to watch together (no hidden surprises like when I took my son to see 'Ted' in the theaters... okay so maybe in retrospect I should have did my research for that one...anyways) - I liked this film. It had an interesting story, and the character that builds living things out of inanimate objects was the highlight for me.

I liked the movie very much, but it starts out a little bit scary. You kinda wonder what you are getting into. But the movie settled down and became watchable. Story line kept you guessing, colors where dark and sound was excellent. The beginning would in this opinion would scare younger children. It had a good cast, acting was great. The story had a nice ending. I would recommend.

I work in education and read many young adults and teenage fiction books that are appropriate for my students. The 'Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children' trilogy has been one of the best set of books I have read in years! I was leery to watch the movie, we all know how other the book gets butchered. While it's not the exact same as the book and creative license is clearly obvious it still great!

I went into watching this movie with no expectations and not reading the book. It's Tim Burton so it's dark and different but who is going to be the villain? Asa Butterfield is amazing just like he was in Ender's Game and Eva Green and Samuel L Jackson each having solid performances in their respected roles. It is intertwining, filled with peculiar characters that will keep you glued to the screen.

Tim Burton's screen adaptation of novel Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children does the work justice on so many levels. Like much of his work, the Gothic aesthetic shows through in his especially vivid portrayals of a WWI-era UK, not to mention in the design of the monsters that chase the "peculiars" around the country. It provides adventure and suspense enough for all ages to enjoy.

This movie is a wonderful movie to watch especially if you are a fan of the book trilogy. This movie brings Miss Peregrine and all of her children and their interesting powers to life on the big screen. What fun! In all the good ways Miss Peregrine's creates memorable characters and sends them into a struggle between good and evil in Harry Potterish kind of setting. I highly recommend this movie.

I really liked this movie, and to my surprise it was much different than what I thought it was going to be like, from just watching the trailers before hand. I do wish that some of the characters had a little more development, but the pace of the story still works out just fine. Definitely a movie that gets better with repeated views since there are so many suttle hints

My daughter is an avid reader. She started this book and moved onto something else. I bought the movie because I like the supernatural/magic and I thought the kids would enjoy it. Everyone loved the film and my daughter returned to the series of novels. Unusual characters, different plot from other movies with the whole "time warp thing." Nicely done. Would definitely want to see any sequels!

First off i will start off by saying the film doesn't not live up too the book, not holding it against the film. The film was great i enjoyed it.find it fascinating the way we are carried from a fairly normal life during WWII in England to a wonderful adventure in a sometimes fantastic, sometimes scary world. Seeking it in 4k is absolutely amazing.

The author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children admits being inspired by the work of Tim Burton. Of course Tim Burton had to direct it! It has odd children with strange powers, a cool Gothic mansion, fantastic sets, bizarre monsters and a fantastic soundtrack! What more could fans of Tim Burton want? One of my favorite films of 2016, and it looks fantastic in 3-D!!
