Miss Peregrine is not Tim Burton's best film but is a visual feast full of Burton's trademark magic. It concerns a school for exceptional children under attack by a scenery munching Samuel L Jackson. A little slow at times the film ends with some slam bang action. A little intense at times for younger kids, it's underlying themes make it worth a look.

Not one of my favorite Tim Burton films , nice fantasy and visual experience.

I am a fan of the books and was happy to see a movie made from them. It did concern me that there were major changes in the movie from the book version. But surprisingly, I really liked the movie and even approved of most of the changes. Most of them were required in order to condense the three books into one movie. They also probably helped the pacing of the movie.

I had wanted to see this in theaters but never got a chance to. I bought it On Demand on cable and loved it so much that I knew I had to add it to my collection! It is a fascinating and magical tale told in true Tim Burton style. I've never read the books before but after seeing this movie, I want to read the series! I hope they will make the sequel to this movie!

Firstly, I have not read about any of the books. I went into this movie hearing some positive things but had no expectations. Tim Burton does a great job of telling the story. Jake's grandpa tells these crazy stories and as he gets older he tells Jake, he needs protection. He ends up dead with his eyes taken out and so the adventure begins.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because it was a little bit slow in places. But overall, I loved it. Very entertaining, great special effects, and very funny at times. For a Tim Burton film, not as weird as many of his others. Samuel L Jackson does a great bad guy too. Not a little kids movie, but fine for early teens and up.

I have read all three books of this series, I realize the movies don't compare to the details in the book, but this one isn't much like the book at all. It was good and we enjoyed it, but the characters were different looks and names. It's story line was close to the book and not sorry we bought it, waiting to see if the next two will do.

I've been a Tim Burton movie fan my entire life. Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands still hold up. Even Big Eyes was a nice surprise. This. Obie is like some of his earlier movies. Great colors. Costumes and an eerie undertone. Imagine the decor at his house! Anyways was a good watch. Recommended

This movie is a clever story about children with unique abilities. The children are reminiscent of a Shel Sylverstein story in that they are unique and border on scary. A highly enjoyable movie for anyone older than 12. It may be too scary for very young children, but that's for parents to decide. There's not much on screen violence.

Tim Burton, which I am a big fan of, came through with this movie, and with Eva Green playing the title roll. I, again liked this movie of nice special effects and what I do believe is a prtty good story line. Eva Green gives a good performance that is not like what she usually dilivers in the movies that she has acted in before this one, a excellent change.

This movie was pretty good and entertaining. I wasn't waiting for it to be over like some movies I've bought without watching first. It varied quite a bit from the book so if you are someone who wants complete accuracy then it's probably not your first choice of movie. I enjoyed it and think it was a good addition to my movie library.

I didn't know what to expect from this movie, but I wasn't disappointed. My 8-year old daughters loved the peculiar characters. The story line was a bit much, but it was fun to watch. Because if the sophisticated content, I wouldn't necessarily call it a "kids movie."

Going into this movie I had no idea what to expect. Saw the previews at the theater and thought the special effects eye candy was enough to check it out. Any movie by Tim Burton can not be bad. Great story all around. Many changes throughout the entire movie. Me and my girlfriend are in our 40's and we loved it. Very entertaining. Would highly recommend.

This is definitely one of my favorite movies from the very first time I watched it! The graphics are epic and so is the movie, perfect movie for family movie night! I highly recommend this movie! I also recommend purchasing the “gamers club” if you buy a lot of video games because it has already saved us over $50 on only two games!

We missed the movie in the theater due to travelling. Purchased movie to catch up on one we wanted to see. After reading the book, we found the movie to follow the book very well. There were a couple scenes that we did not remember from the book, will certainly reread it. A very good movie with lots of action and some interesting twists and turns.

First off I'm a sucker for Tim Burton movies and 3D blu-ray releases so this was a must for me. Having never read the books I wasn't sure what to expect but ended up enjoying it very much. The effects were spectacular, the actors were top notch, and the 3D was well done. Don't regrets this purchase for a minute. Beautiful movie!

I was a little skeptical about this movie at first, I thought it would be too intense for my 9 year old to watch due to the bad guys in it. But she loves it and so do I. There is just the right amount of intensity, and it shows that just because someone is different from you doesn't mean you can be their friend or even fall in love with them.

Good movie to kill some time with. Interesting plot and characters.

It was a blind buy and i wasnt amazed by it. It was entertaining.
