This is a great movie for kids and as an adult I enjoyed it too! I read the book as well. I like how this movie package came with Blu-ray and regular discs. Sometimes I'm buying for family or friends and I don't know what type of a DVD player they have. That's a great idea to include both in one package!

Tim Burton strikes again. A very interesting story with intriguing characters (especially the variety of "peculiarities") and a crisp story line. I would warn that there are some dark spots that might be disquieting to younger audiences...But that should not be unexpected from director Tim Burton.

Liked this movie. Unusual film. I happen to like the "far-out" films. This holds your interest until the ending. Some members of family didn't care for this film. Different views from different ages. I am 81 years old and liked it, granddaughter is 14 years old and she hated it. .

As just a bluray the movie is visually entertaining for the family, with the added 3d disk you will be in for a constant stream of 3d effects throughout the movie. Plus a great price when purchased was special of only $10. in this case I choose the 3d over the 4k release

I didn't read the book, but I imagine that there was so much background that they wanted to tell you before the story really got going. The beginning of the movie is slow, but once the story unfolds, it is very good. The kids were glued to the screen once all of the action started.

If a fan of Tim Burton's directing, then Peculiar Children does not disappoint! If you love adventure and suspense, then the movie exceeds expectations. Though recommend for older children because otherwise likely to cause nightmares. The movie follows closely to the book and remains true to form.

My teenage daughter desperately wanted to see this movie, but never did. Picked it up for a great price (cheaper than two people going to the theater) and all the kids and my wife watched and enjoyed it. Enjoyable for those that like the fantasy genre. Well worth the money spent!

It is obvious that S.L.J. is in this movie to provide it a certain amount of credibility. Of course, S. Jackson is a great actor but the other actors held their own in scenes with him. This movie was very entertaining and was enjoyable for the entire family to watch. Great Movie!

I was expecting maybe a Harry Potter meets X-men but this wasn't at all. The kids have different abilities but nothing like mutants from the X-men. And some of the scenes are definitely not for pre-teens or maybe not for young teens either. The quality of the bluray is very good.

The movie was fun to watch, but some changes from the book bothered me. I know books are always adapted to movies, but some of the changes didn't make sense like switching the peculiarities of some of the children. Still, if you don't read the book first, it's a good movie.

If you like Tim Burton movies you'll like this movie! I truly enjoyed this film. There was room for improvements but overall a good movie! As usual the film was visually great and also included great acting (always love Eva Green and Terrance Stamp) and great wardrobe and sets!

This is a great movie I think the whole family would enjoy watching this and the special effects are just really really good I like something that's not full violence like some of the things that you watch it's nice just laid back in the easy chair have a drink and enjoy a really good movie

Movies usually take liberties with a screenplay taken form a book and this is no exception but very well done. Miss Peregrine is played by Eva Green who looks like she's having a great time in the role. Tim Burton adds his Burtonesqe touch. Adds up to a well done movie. Looks great on Blu ray!

Based on a best selling book, the movie doesn’t disappoint when it comes to life on the big screen. However, I’ve been told that it has scared some little children watching it, but my kids who were older, around 11 when it came out, really liked it.

I just loved this movie, probably because I love Tim Burton's vision as a director. Going back to his first movie, he has constantly made movies that challenge the imagination. And this Blu-Ray is amazing looking. If you like Tim Burton movies, you would be disappointed.

If you're looking for a movie of the book look elsewhere. The scriptwriters/director took extensive liberties with the story & characters & the gobsmacked/starstruck author didn't have the ca-hones to stand up to Hollywood. If you haven't read the book it's an OK story.

This is an odd little movie, but what an awesome cast! Samuel L. Jackson, Dame Judi Dench, Rupert Everett, Allison Janney, Terrence Stamp! Wow -- and the young actors in this are awesome! And the CGI effects are really good! This is a good movie, glad its in my collection!

Most people think this is a kid's movie but it is not. The cinematography is good and the movie makes the unbelievable seem real. Every time I watch it I still pick up another subtle detail. A good, different film that is well done and worth the time to watch- maybe twice.

It's a wonderful tale of people's differences and how they make the most of it through their time spent together. How they are a family basically. Very visual and a bit dark but overall a good watch. The movie is different from the books but still pretty interesting.

Tim Burton's best film in decades, and a film adults will love as much as children. Eva Green is superb playing Miss Peregrine by balancing a personality of cold sternness without a bit of sentimentality. Don't miss this film, and don't listen to the naysayers.
