This is the kind of movie that Disney has always done better than everyone else. There's real animation here, not just computerized. Many of the songs are a delight, although it does not appear any will reach the iconic level of some of the beloved classics. The acting's very good, and some of the visuals go from whimsical to breathtaking. If neither you nor your children have had much exposure to South Pacific culture, history or tradition, this movie will set you on a proper course to start; it was obviously well-researched by Disney staff.

I usually get movies on their release date. But when Best Buy offers these unique and limited edition cases, I'm a sucker for repackaged material and can't say no. Of course, I have Moana on Bluray. But I didn't have it in 4K and just the case alone, made this purchase worthwhile. Check out the other titles Best Buy offers in the limited edition, 4K Ultra HD/BluRay and Digital Copy. I now have a sub library, dedicated to these beautiful designs.

Presentation/Availability: Product was well packaged with no broken/opened box. There were many available at the store. Performance: I ordered it online and use the ‘store pickup’ service and there were no problems with my order. BRay disc performed without errors on both of my BRay players. I strongly recommend connecting a home theater so you can really appreciate the sounds throughout the movie. We all as a family love it. Customer service: Very good customer service. I was greeted by an employee as soon as I walked through the door.

Would have given 5 stars but tired of watching over and over due to the little one being obsessed with the movie.

This movie was fun to watch and really enjoyed every character in the film. The beauty of the setting and the detail to art and the perfect actors to fill in the voices. Both of my kids really enjoyed the movie, but I saw my wife watching it back to back days, which is saying a lot for her. She only does this if she really enjoys it and can feel the characters and story. If you get the Blu-ray version definitely check out the special features on how the music score was developed and how the South Pacific culture was brought into the movie.

Great story, fun music, nice hints at Hawaiian legends. So pleased to add this Blu-ray to my Disney collection.

I recently went on a trip to Hawaii and although I hadn't watched Moana at the time, the flight was promoting Moana heavily. After seeing Oahu and coming back from vacation, I bought Moana. Now, I knew that this movie was well received. But after watching it myself, I can totally see why. It is such a wonderful Disney movie for the family. It brings Polynesian culture to the forefront and allows viewers to learn about something knew, while also keeping in mind the lessons that can be learned. I would definitely recommend this!

As a father of a little girl I kind of hate the old classic Disney princess movies. Not because they are girly, but because the lessons they teach are the last kinds I want my daughter learning. Moana has none of that. It is a wonderfully told story with top notch voice acting about a young girl who risks everything to save her people. The animation is the top tier you would expect from Disney/Pixar and the songs are catchy, even for an adult. The humor is very safe for children while also still very entertaining for adults.

Great price and easy to use. Item has been durable over time. Easy setup. Entertaining to say the least.

Okay, so yes...Frozen was a hit. But, this has a cool plot, and it is easily understood. I'm still trying to figure out Frozen's plot. Moans hits all the standard modern princess movie requirements for Disney: Sympathetic character death? - check Girl with animal sidekick? - check Song about freeing yourself from the crushing burden on your soul? -big check Amusing, larger than life villain? -check Comedic hero type? -check Happily Ever After? -checkarooney So there is nothing about this movie not to like.

In a film where 85-90% of on screen time is primarily 2 characters, those two had better have some awesome chemistry between them to carry the film. In this case, the chemistry was okay, but not awesome. There are two other characters, but they scarcely count. One of the other two characters to share most of the screen time is a chicken too stupid to know not to walk right into a fire. It is a running joke more than a true character. The fourth character to share most of the screen time is the water (in the form of a mute, tongue-shaped blob of aqua). It has no face, no body and no voice. Not a lot of emoting is possible from such a character. So, the two main characters must carry the entire film on their own and are barely up to the task. The music has grown on me since my first viewing (with kids around, I'm sure to see it many more times yet) and I'm now a fan of some of the songs. The visual artistry, as always with Disney, is pure eye candy. It's a very impressive movie to look at and a pretty decent Disney film in the end, just not one of my all time favorites.

Great movie and a great film to get the 4k treatment will all of it’s beautiful hdr colors

Ok when I watch films I do so on a 180" movie theater screen with full 7.1 surround sound and the Buttkicker transducer system. This is not to Bragg but to give an idea of the clarity that I rate both 4k and 1080p films. 1st off regardless if you are huge into 4k or still collect Blu-ray; I will add that with today's (Oppo) upscaling technology along with upscaling technology on theater projectors that the difference between Blu-ray & 4k is minimal. I will say that going over 180" that you will likely see a difference and recommend 4k for 150"+ screens. I found the film to be AMAZING Visually! I mean Disney has stepped up the game and I cant wait until Cars 3! Maona on the other hand seemed as if Disney tried to take that magic of breaking the mold with Frozens script and apply it to Moana? After an hour in (close) we finally meet the "Demi-God" who is basically a ******** Till the last 15 minutes of the film. Sadly The film didn't make me care about any of the charecters. Due to the high quality visuals, picture and sound editing I give 4 stars. Story & Script do NOT warrant such a high rotten tomato score!

This is unanimous favorite among our 3 children. We make popcorn and watch movies in the playroom for family movie night every week. The kids love this movie and we downloaded the free digital copy on our iPad which comes in handy when traveling. My 3 year old has already picked out her Moana costume for Halloween and is insisting that I am going to be Maui which is a small price to pay make her night.

Moana is a good movie to see. I bought this for my 7 year old nieces to see as well. We enjoyed it.

"Moana" is also a Disney production (its 56th), and is a computer animated film telling the story of a strong-willed daughter of a Polynesian tribal chief named Moana who sets sail across the Pacific in search of the legendary demigod Maui to save her people. Moana is perfectly voiced by 14-year-old Hawaiian high school freshman Auli'i Cravalho with Dwayne Johnson surprisingly cast as the voice of the god Maui. Based on Polynesian mythology stories, this is an amazing movie with wonderful songs and astonishing visuals that help to make it an extremely moving film experience for adults as well as children. It's unlikely this will beat "Zootopia" for the Oscar, but its beauty will probably leave viewers with a superior visual impression. (One strange footnote: in some European countries, the title and protagonist were renamed 'Vaiana' due to a copyright problem over a cosmetic company that owns the use of the name 'Moana'. In Italy the change was made due to a more serious problem: to avoid any association with a deceased adult actress named Moana Pozzi.)

It is the hit movie on 2016 brought to life in your home. Best part is digital HD download is included so you can take your movie with you on the go and watch on your phone, tablet, or computer without an internet connection. Cheapest price around at the time of writing this post. $8.00 for this movie and a free download is a no brainer. It will be Removed from Netflix soon so now I have a back up that will last a lifetime. Thanks Best Buy. Highly recommended movie for kids under six.

Finding what we wanted was easy as was checkout. The movie is very well done and a joy to watch.
