Great music, stellar animation, and endearing characters all hit the right notes. Subversive in its approach to the Disney template, this flick manages to entertain while slickly presenting classic tropes as obstacles to be overcome rather than the blueprint to be followed. While some of the story feels on rails, the characters and music help gloss over some of the minor noise the plot makes when it interrupts the story. Great for animation fans of all ages.

This movie is fun for adults and children. The animation is great, and isn't too musical. I often find myself not enjoying, when Disney packs a film full of songs, but this one has a good balance. If you have daughters, Moana provides a great role model, being both strong, and intelligent. And, of course, the movie has Dwayne "the rock" Johnson. He provides a great performance, as usual. For WWE fans, his character is arrogant, much like his WWE persona.

We loved the movie in the theaters. And our two young boys love having their own copy now. The movie alone is worth the purchase. The blu-ray transfer is flawless. The songs are great. Our boys can't stop singing "You're welcome" and "Shiny." But the extras really put this over the top. I love the commentaries but the boys love the Maui mini-movie. And the "making of" featurettes are a fun look at the behind the scenes of making a flawless Disney movie.

This is such a fun movie to watch. The songs in are my favorite in years from Disney and the story is a lot of fun too. Having watched this movie seemingly 50 times (on non stop in my house), when I finally sat down to watch it on a different TV in 4K I thought I knew what I was going to experience. The visual upgrade was outstanding and the audio was wonderful as well.

Didn't originally plan on buying this film at all. Simply went in to buy my bluray copy of "Jackie". Went to the store before they opened and there was already a long line. As the doors open I saw the film title I was originally going for and all of a sudden I see the only steelbook copie of Moana and of course I could never say no to a steelbook copy! Over all movie was great and fun. Music numbers are lovely. No spoilers so go pick up your copy today!

An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana meets the once-mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

Disney definitely has the keys to the "great story, great songs" vault, and Moana is another example highlighting their recent success (Zootopia, etc.). This Polynesian (don't call it a princess) adventure takes the title character from her small island to places of legend and back. From the animation to the music to the characterization, nothing disappoints. And the amazing short "Inner Workings" is included as a bonus. Definitely great for all ages.

Originally saw this in the theaters with my two young children and knew I had to add to the Disney collection when it came out. While not at the upper tier of Disney movies, it is an enjoyable story that the whole family can relate to. There were a few scenes that were intense for my youngest (5) but they enjoyed it. Best Buy has stepped up again with an exclusive Steelbook and happily offered the 3D version which I prefer to view. Keep them coming!

Going into this movie I thought Id go into another new age disney movie. They usually arent as fun as the old one to me. This movie actually was very enjoyable. The story is nothing new but it was a very fun story. The characters are lovable. Even the rocks super cocky character. The songs were great. The actress/singer that plays moana is amazing and shes only 15. If you got kids this is a must. If you have no babies you will still love this movie.

This is a fun family movie. It fits in well with all of the Disney classics.

Mu nephews like this movie a lot and like watching it over and over.

My 3 year old daughter had watched it 3 times before i got to sit and watch it, and i know why. This is a great departure from the typical Disney Princess movie where the Prince saves the day. As the father of 3 girls, i LOVE the fact that this is about a Princess that saves the day HERSELF, she is the hero, and the only love interest is her family. Highly recommend, and especially for all little girls who need to know that they are heroes.

I hadn't seen this movie prior to watching. It was surprisingly good, and I enjoyed it. The plot is a little light (it's a kid's movie), the songs are good, and the kids won't stop singing them. Overall, it's entertaining for the whole family. Bonus: There a lot of Easter eggs in this movie, like you can see Olaf's (from Frozen) carrot nose and stick arm in Moana's boat storage. Guess he finally got to experience a tropical summer.

This movie was enjoyable and the steelbook are is nice as well.
