I saw "Moana" in theaters and then once again while taking an airplane trip so I knew what to expect from the movie itself. But I didn't really appreciate the story since I didn't understand the time frame when this story took place and the real challenges of Polynesian people as they explored islands. The movie makes a definite point to describe people exploring islands and then not exploring for about a 1000 years, but I didn't understand that this was real. The featurette in the extras really helped me understand the people of South Pacific islands and how their ancestors discovered islands. I therefore think the extras are a huge bonus and makes it worth the purchase! I decided to get the 3D version because animated movies always seem to take advantage of 3D more than live action movies and I was not wrong. It's pretty awesome when the water (as a character) flows up above the surface. Also when Moana uses her oar to point to something, the oar almost knocked the popcorn out of my hands. Loved it.

Moana has an excellent story for kids. The Blue Tooth provides high quality videos.
