Paid for content transfer. Did not finish before store closed. When it was done, went to use my new phone, and he had not downloaded e-sim so no service. So disappointing. Had to pay my local Verizon store to take care of it and activate my phone

There is no reason to charge for this service when the phone was purchased at best buy. It is just a money grab.

Is it worth paying $40 for a data transfer to your new phone? Probably. I had to pay the charge--the service once was free--because I was trading in an old iPhoneSE for the 3rd generation, and they had to be sure all personal info/files were removed and the phone was fully functional. My only complaint was that two of my apps were not ported over to the new phone. I had to install them later. (No problem, just inconvenience). If you're not trading in, it's easy enough to transfer by yourself (no cable required),

The agent who performed data transfer for me to transition from my iPhone 13 to 14 was superb. It was a very long process because my old phone had quit--could not receive calls or cellular data, even tho my internet connection was functional. The agent was extremely knowledgable, helpful, calm and friendly throughout the approximately two hour process of successfully setting up my new phone and transitioning everything from my old phone. She gets my highest review.

Transfer was successful but took over an hour in the store. Poor WiFi. Take it home and transfer on a high speed WiFi.

The Best Buy rep who performed the data transfer to my new phone was very helpful. I wouldn’t want to have done it myself. The only hiccup seemed to be that all my photos didn’t initially down load completely to my new phone. I thought I lost them but discovered that it had paused. When I resumed it, they all came back for me. Whew! What a relief! I only wished that I was told that might happen so I wouldn’t panic or might have known to possibly expect that.

I'm regressing from an I phone to an android phone. I did my home work and went to your store knowing what model and make I wanted (Samsung 15). BESIDES the phone cost I paid $60 for installation. Since my old phone was lost there was no data to transfer. INSTALLATION WAS A WASTE OF MONEY.

Don't pay for data transfer, do it at home. I'm sure you can get instructions to do this somewhere and just do it at home. I did most of it on my own in the store, but sat there to make sure it was done correct. I really should have paid myself the $100 or whatever they charged me.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous the amount you pay for a cell phone and then are charged an additional $40 to help you transfer your information. They literally put a plug from one phone to the next, said it would take about 15 minutes and sent us out the door. We ended up having to go to Verizon to get additional gelp

After buying my new cell phone at Best Buy, I had them do all the set-up and data transfer. Because I'm a Total Tech member, it was included at no charge. I'm sure glad I had them do it as it took HOURS and there were a few issues that they knew exactly how to fix. I've done the set-up/data transfers in the past but it was nice to have it all done for me and since it didn't cost me anything, it was a no-brainer. The gal at the store was very good & knew what she was doing!

The young lady did a great job transferring my data, but I'm disappointed that Best Buy charges for this. I purchased my phone from them and all the accessories and they should provide that as a free service. Also was given steps to do it myself, but was not given complete steps so ended up paying to have this done because not all of the information was provided.

Worth the $40 to have associate transfer contacts, photos, etc to new phone, took about 20 minutes. He couldn't get one of my emails to work. Later called company, and no new phones since January '21 work with their email... they're trying to fix things. Does work thru webmail, but annoying. No easy way to transfer photos except thru Google photo, much prefer being able to hook up to computer and transfer myself.
