Protection and a slim design all in one package. It feels premium, slim, and has a great grip around the borders. My favorite part is the clear backing towards the center for your iPad. You can actually see what color iPad you have! The Smart Cover works as it should however it is attached to the case and is not removable. However the cover provides use in most cases like protection and folding to prop up your iPad for viewing angles. The cover is the built in stand and there is no plastic flip out. Sometimes I like having the ability to remove the Smart Cover for better holding and not being bothered by it but it works with this case and it’s not that much of a bother. The Smart Cover does wake and sleep your iPad. There is a spot on the right side of the case for an Apple Pencil. If you don’t have an Apple Pencil throw a pen in there or some other generic stylus or it kinda of looks awkward or like something is missing. Plus if you don’t have or intend to get an Apple Pencil then I would go with a different case because then the width will be shorter. Yet that extra space could add as extra protection. The iPad fits snug and tight.

This fairly inexpensive iPad folio-style case made specifically for the 10th generation Apple iPad which was released in 2022 is a solid, very nice case. The material is soft and smooth, with a slight grippy feel which makes it easy to hold firmly. The cutouts for the speakers, camera, on/off button and charging port are all functional and precise. Like the Apple branded smart folios and similar others on the market, you can fold up the cover into a stand for easy hands-free viewing. The back has a clear see-though window, which I like because I have the yellow iPad and I enjoy seeing the sunny bright color daily. Although there is a cutout area for storage of an Apple Pencil, I do not use one on this iPad but the extra unused space is not bothersome to me. I also appreciate the sleep/wake functionality of the cover, which has magnets to automatically put the iPad on standby when closed or wake it up upon opening. The inside of the cover has a soft, almost velvety feeling lining which helps to keep the iPad’s screen free of lint, dust, etc. Most importantly, protection-wise, I feel that this case would protect my iPad from minimal to average drops, but by no means is it on the level of the more formidable, heavy-duty “military-drop grade protection” cases or even the extra thick foam-like cases made specifically for kids. It is definitely not enough protection for kids’ usage of an iPad or any more rugged/heavier use case scenarios, such as being thrown in a backpack or tote by college students or for active work sites. But for more casual business or everyday at home use it would be more than adequate. All in all, a good solid case for a good price.

This is regarding the Modal - Folio Case for Apple iPad 10.9" for 10th Generation. This is surprisingly pretty supportive and does protect my iPad. I wondered at first look and feel of it, if it really was strong enough to keep my iPad safe. It is slim and looks good. As I put the iPad in it, it fit in there really nice. I liked it at first because of the front cover that turns into a stand but now there I see other great features too. I like the rugged edges and corners, it makes me feel safer that it would better protect my iPad if it fell. The openings are all in the right place, the charger, camera, etc. so that was easy. It is interesting that the part of the back cover is clear, that didn’t make much of a difference to me but I didn’t think it was necessary but it’s nice for those who have an iPad with the cool colors. Another thing I realized when I close the cover it actually puts my iPad to sleep and opening it, wakes it up. That’s a good feature to have that helps keep the battery lasting longer. All in all, it’s a good, sturdy case, that looks good and seems protective with the rugged edges and sides. For myself, I feel comfortable using it. But for my children, I would stick the rougher, tougher ones that I have on theirs for extra protection.

I was considering buying a dedicated eBook reader since I use my iPad for lots of reading at night. My old case did not have a kick stand or any way to prop the iPad up, making reading not as enjoyable as it could be. The Modal Folio case is great. It allows for several viewing angles, making it great for reading, watching movies, and even gaming using Xbox Game Pass. The other really great element to this case is that it has room for my Apple Pencil. Any cases I have tried don't have a means to carry the pencil, so I typically leave it at home, but now it goes anywhere the iPad goes. The case is quick and easy to put on, but has great cutouts for the use of all of the ports, buttons, and camera. I have had a few cases where charging was a bit difficult because the cutouts weren't as precise. The magnet built in to the case allows the iPad to detect when the case is open or closed, helping save battery. Now, anytime I close the case, I can rest assured that my iPad screen is off as well, and my battery life is safe. I also appreciate the minimalist packaging, something I wish more manufacturers would embrace, as most packaging is immediately thrown away anyway, so why waste materials.

This case is very well-built and easy to put on. It offers good impact protection as a nice lip around the screen to help avoid damage to the screen on accidental drops. The color is a nice dark neutral color. The case doesn’t seem to add much bulk and allows for easy portability. The flapper closes allows for easy or off operation without a button. The Apple Pencil holder is probably the most underrated function of this case since the iPad doesn’t have a great way to hold the first generation pencil. The cut outs on the case, seem to leave adequate space for your fingers to adjust buttons, as well as a USB-C charger to be inserted easily. The built-in stand offers a nice angle for viewing, antiques, a large strain off of long-term use. The interior lining allows for easy insert and no scuffing to the iPad. I really like that. You can at least see some of the color of the iPad that you ordered since that is one of the features of this generation‘s iPad and I highly encourage anyone looking at a case to consider this case.

It works well, the only thing I wish was different was that it had a way to stand the ipad up.. for a tablet cover, it does its job.

After spending some time with the Modal Folio case for Apple iPad, I consider this to be a very good add-on accessory. Perfect for anyone looking for something sleek, lightweight and practical. The case does away with the added bulk while seamlessly intergrating a compartment for an Apple Pencil. The finish on the case is very similar to my iPads Pro Magic Keyboard. I was initally worried that the case would be highly susceptible to ugly scratches, but it is almost self-healing in its response to minor surface marks or dings. Speaking of dings, like with all tablets, iPads tend to experience the most damage when they land on their corners. Luckily the Modal case has thick bumper edges that take this accident prone area into consideration. The only negative I have with the bumpers is that the extra thickess (about .5") on the top 2 corners are no present on the bottom 3 edges. This may increase the dimensions on the overall case but the added spec would be negligible when considering the overall safety. The screen flap, which doubles as a stand, seems to adequately support the weight of the iPad 10th Gen. However, while I am a firm believer in the motto "If it ain't broke, dont fix it", more little articulation would be nice when considering adjusting screen tilt to combat glare. On the other hand, the higher nitts and auto-brightness feature on the tablet itself may make this criticism a moot point entirely. Overall I think it has a great in hand feel and get the job done. 3.5/5.
