    I have purchased several power strips with line filters for computers from Panamax - their 360 line - that have good features like the built in USB chargers. One Panamax strip blew after two days - Indiana wind storm, but no thunder/lightning. Grabbed this for my sons college dorm room - no problems with power fluctuations, so no filter needed. This did the job, and the flat angled plug is a good feature
