I live in an old apartment building and everyone knows the electrical surges in these places can be a problem. I want protection of my electronics and this surge protecter is it. It is well worth the $ as it does not take much to ruin an expensive computer or TV. I replace all my surge protecters every two years.

I couldn't tell you if it's anything more than a glorified power strip, because I haven't had any issues that I know of with power surges since installed. If you assume I have, then it's working. If you assume I haven't, then it's still working. (Kind of like Schrodinger's cat.) So... I guess it works?

Got this to replace a 15yo surge protector after upgrading my computer. It's fairly low-profile, and has plenty of outlets to cover all my needs. I also purchased a 2nd to cover my TV and stereo system. With some of the storms that have come through this season, I'd rather be up to date on my protection and not have to worry about my electronics! The only issue I had with this is that I was unable to actually locate them in the store - I had to order online for store pickup because they seemed to be hidden (in favor of a more expensive option perhaps?)

fortunately I haven't had to experience exactly how well this works due to a surge, it does function well with the periodic power outages we experience. The one main drawback is the difficulty in getting plugs into the outlet.... sometimes it feels as though you need Mjolnir to hammer it in. I guess that the "snug" fit is good to prevent accidental disconnects or shorts due to the plug not being all the way in... but its a bit ridiculous.

I use this on my bedroom desktop. I specifically sought after a surge protector with some weight to it since I'd be using it on the desktop, somewhat close to the edge. This product is perfect for that. Very heavy, ain't going nowhere, and works just like it's supposed to.

Does what it is designed to do. I like the layout and the 2 USB plugs. Nowadays you never have enough ways to keep your cell phone charged
