Great fighting and monsters galore! Worth watching

This movie is based on a video game. <- I had to start with that because, ehh. Most game-to-movie movies are OK. Paul W. S. Anderson loves Milla Jovovich (same director and actress in the Resident Evil movie series, which is also a game-to-movie). It has tons of action and a bunch of scenes that bring to the edge of your seat. But the acting is blah. Poorly written scripts that make you think, "They actually thought that was a good idea to keep that in there? I'm sure I could have written something better!" Haha! Other than that, it has great visuals (especially in 4K) and great sound. They also did set up the ending to have a sequel, which *might* happen in like 3 years or so.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable movie and is real eye and ear candy for those with a good quality setup to watch it on. This is the kind of enjoyable movie that will likely be watched multiple times over the years and is akin to some of those similar movies that did OK at the box office but keeps selling and selling for home. Starship Troopers, The Fifth Element and Stargate are just a few that come to mind. These are movies that are fun to watch, do not require a lot of attention to get the meaning and seem to not get old. I saw this in the theater and yet it was just as entertaining at home. Worth the money.

This is not your average, let's make a few bucks by placating the fans with cheap special effects, video game movie. The creators of this movie really put the time into making entry into this world uncomfortable, creepy, a bit non-linear, and lacked respect for keeping cool characters alive. I really liked this movie and found it a bit unconventional a fresh. The monster are horrifying. These are not kid monster that easily fall to an oversized sword. These things are deadly in every sense of deadly. People are definitely at the bottom of the food chain. Overall, I really liked this movie. Monster Hunter has the beginning of a fun, exciting, and scary trilogy. I don't much about the game but I really hope the director gets the opportunity to complete this series.

I am someone who saw this in theaters with 0 expectations of enjoying this movie. Overall this was a good movie. It was definitely a good Monster Hunter movie. It's got pretty much anything you would expect a Monster Hunter movie to have. The monsters are vicious, deadly, and at times downright scary. Don't go into this expecting some epic story or a 1:1 translation of the game with all mechanics featured in some way. Cause 1: the story in Monster Hunter games are bare bones at best. 2: Do you really think anyone take a hit from a charging Diablos and be fine? 3: Chocolate.

It's bad but in that good way that only certain movies can achieve. Milla brings her normal dedication to the role that is usually reserved for zombies. The pacing is horrible though and feels like they spent most of the time in the desert just to save on production costs for the green-screened jungle scenes. Watch it, have fun, and just laugh at the silliness. Oh, and Milla and company do not need to sing military jodies ever again.

Similar to resident evil, this movie is also based on a videogame. I wasn’t too familiar with the game, but that did not matter. This was a fun action movie which takes place in a strange land inhabited by monsters. Milla Jovovich was good as always. Picture and sound quality on the blu ray were both very good. Grab some snacks and go for the ride. Worth a watch!

Monster Hunter Milla Jovovich is at again with Director/Husband Paul WS Anderson in a Video game to movie. Definitely not Resident evil. I never played Monster Hunter so not sure how much the movie plays to the game. The movie is not very good but it does hold your attention there is alot of action. The technical Merits for the movie are jaw dropping the Native 4K Picture is a stunner and seeing it in all its true 4K Glory is a reason for the upgrade to 4K. And if the beautiful native 4K presentation wasn't enough for you to alone to have this movie in your Collection then the Dolby Atmos Audio folds down to a TrueHD 7.1 if your not Atmos compatible like me. But This Track is everything your want from a movie like this its Loud, Boisterous, fierce, explosive, and immersive, fully detailed, and fully powerful. if you love LFE like i do then this soundtrack will take you down to Lovers Lane. Its that Fantastic!!!!!

This movie is based on the videogame Monster Hunter. As the title says it has monsters throughout this movie. It stars Mila Jovovich. And is also starring Ron Pearlman. The movie is action packed with lots of monsters. This movie takes place in our world and a parallel world where the monsters come from. There is action and a little comedy here and there too. The CGI brings to life the world of the monsters and the monsters themselves. The 4k picture and sound are quality too. If you like monster movies you might like this one too.

I enjoyed the movie and loved the story it was building. It really brought me into the realm and left me wanting more at the end. While it had missing parts in the plot and moved a little too fast, I still liked it. It is too bad that with all good Fantasy flicks, it falls flat on profit so another one probably will not be made

Poor acting and a weak plot but the monsters are cool and worth the price of the movie! The soundtrack is awesome if you have the right equipment. Ron Pearlman doesn't really show up until halfway in the movie. They seemed to have rushed the plot and left too many gaps in the development of the characters...but the monsters are cool especially the dragon!

Silly and mindless action/fun flick. Is it for a die hard Monster Hunter fan? No. Fans are toxic to each other over what particular version of the game the play and this movie is just neckbeard bait to keyboard argue. I enjoyed the movie about as much as the Resident evil series and Tony Jaa is always a blast to watch.

Its ENTERTAINMENT ppl. The story line is a little out there yes but I purchased it for the awesome 4k visual and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack. Gr8 visual on 4k and color levels are so clean. You hear all the scurrying around with the Atmos throughout all your speakers. Almost looks fake because its such a crisp 4k.

Big monster hunter fan since ps2 dsys. Movie could been better, but I did enjoy seeing the monsters. Wish there was slightly less Nerscylla. I love that monster, but could shaved bit off to give other monsters screen time. Woods seen would been nice scene with Nargacuga. All in all I enjoyed the movie. It was what expected.

Sound and picture were excellent,, movie based off of video game,, very pleasant surprise and acting was as good as can be expected for a monster movie,, again grandkids enjoyed movie because the probably had played on video game,, ending left open for many sequels to come

This was actually pretty good movie I don't follow the game so it was after watched the extras I found out it was made from a game. The acting was good and the special effects there was action but it needed more. This movie would have been nice in 3D in my opinion. Let's see what's the second part has to offer.

Paul W.S Anderson and wife Milla Jovovich once again bring a very entertaining video game story, Monster Hunter, to the real world. Not having played the video game, I did not know what the story was about. I have to say my wife and I really enjoyed the film. The CGI effects are top notch and it is a good story, leaving us with an opening for a sequel. The special features are a great add too. Highly recommended as a family movie as it is rated PG-13.

It's not easy to bring a video game to the bring screen but they did it with this film. The characters and monsters look like they came straight out of the video game and the story sets up the franchise for many more adventures to come, just like the game. It peaked my interest even more for the game and it's definitely paid homage to its legacy. I watched it in Theaters and Rented it before finally purchasing it. Definitely worth watching!

From the director and star of the "Resident Evil" movies, Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich team up once again to tackle another Capcom property. Jovovich plays an Army Ranger who finds herself thrown in a world where monsters do exist and must work with a veteran hunter to try and return home. Total recommendation.

This is a good movie, if you know what you're getting into. I love the Resident Evil movies for their combination of action shots and lack of plot. This movie follows the same format. I'd recommend it if you want to relax and watch Mila Jovovich run around and fight a couple of monsters with iffy dialogue. I would not recommend it if you want a great plot or in-depth character development; not a classic, but solid mindless fun.
