Usually the original or the first is better than the sequels and I feel this is the case, but I adore the characters and love Disney Pixar.

Not as funny as the first one. My son liked it, but not as much adult humor as my husband and I enjoy.

I've upgraded my 3D system and still can't load this movie. The only one out of the package that will play is the DVD. Not what I was hoping for. Bought the original, didn't work. Got a second one. Still didn't work.

Idea of making prequel for Monsters Inc is difficult to execute since the method of collecting human energy to convert electricity was changing in the story of the Monsters Inc.

MU exudes, that setting goals and hard work go hand in hand and to not stop trying if there are set backs from others or ourselves! It can teach the "instant gratification" generations a positive message about a 'good work' ethic, teamwork and the 'stick-to-it-tiveness' it takes to succeed. It's been a while since a video captured this message in a positive light for a generation who seem to lack it today. After all, it was Lon Chaney who said, "If you don't set goals for your life, you will forever work for those who do".

This movie is a real treat. Usually I am not too happy with the 2nd movie because it seems like they force the story, but this movie is so wonderful I would recommend this even if you have not seen the first. This story can stand alone as a story that is just great. Wonderful plot, wonderful voice actors, very very funny, and what a laugh. This movie is great for the whole family. I purchased this and I am so happy I did. I don't usually buy movies, but this one is a keeper.

While I firmly believe Blu-ray/DVD reviews should be about the actual product itself rather than the movie, it goes without saying that this is the typical top-notch Disney/Pixar quality, it's just most people have gripes with the story, as the first reviewer. Still, worth a watch, just to see how several of the main characters of Monsters, Inc. came to be friends (or not!). This also does not have the dreaded stacked discs of several previous releases, and uses a four-disc Viva Elite case.

I'm a big fan of the original Monsters Inc. So I was nervous when Disney announced a prequal. Monsters University does not disappoint. While a handful of the jokes are reference to the college lifestyle, it's still fun (and appropriate) for kids and adults. Haven't had a chance to check out the bonus features.

my one year old daughter is obsessed with sully and I bought this for her we own monsters inc as well and this just completed the 2 part so well that I actually watch this before watching monsters inc because it should follow in that order in my opinion!

My family absolutely loves this movie! Such a great story and could easily have been a stand alone if Monsters Inc. never was made. Highly recommend it! Awesome picture quality on blu ray too.

The original 2001 "Monsters Inc" is my favorite Disney/Pixar film to date. It would have won the best Animated Film Oscar if it was NOT for "Shrek". When I learned they were making this film I was looking forward to it. Man, what a disappointment . I can go with the storyline for a prequel. Would have rather have seen a continuing story of what happened after they opened the new company with laughs. I do not have a problem with the story where is question is where are the laughs? I laughed only a few times in this film. Besides Mike & Sulley we see Randall & a for a brief bit at the end of the film the Abominable Snowman briefly from the first film. Otherwise, they were just throwing new monsters at us with only 2 making it into/from the first film. Too much. Positive, the color on the blu ray is great. Extras, nothing special. Something I thought was strange in this package, a 3D disc, 2 blu rays & 1 DVD. The DVD was where the blu ray with extras SHOULD have been. If you are a fan you can buy this but do not be surprised this film does NOT have the fun & magic of the first film.

A fun film for the family. My ten year old didn't like the fact near the end that the main characters were kicked out of school. But outside of the, it was a great fun movie that had the kids laughing a lot!

My favorite part of the movie is how they show Randall being so desperate to be accepted by the cool kids he ends up showing how he ends up with the attitude he has in the original Monsters Inc.

Great movie for my grandchildren! They love it and want to watch it every time they come over.
