Protection plan should be part of the purchase. Buying it seperate is terrible customer service - customer respect and product quality can be purchased because otherwise the respect and quality are not therebfor the customer. Shame on best buy.

I used it once and when computer broke again I was told to just buy another one per it was in a small case and they would have to send it off… the Mgr. In FLOWOOD MS store is real helpful!

Protection plan necessary because HP laptop with Windows 11 has many problems integrating with EEOS WiFi system. While the Geek Squad agents are very knowledgeable, your'e speaking with someone in India.

This is the best investment, especially in this day and age where electronics are not made to last. For $200, the ability to obtain services as needed is unmatched. I would highly recommend spending the money for it. The need to schedule an appointment so that you're not waiting forever instore is the biggest drawback, but I suspect that is also the case during busy seasons, such as the holidays and back to school.

They changed the program. Last year they covered a PC that had been purchased 3 years ago, but this time they wouldn't cover because I had purchased more than 24 months ago. I wasn't aware of the change so I was pretty bummed when it wasn't covered.

Not really worth it. Got this to fix computers. You can go to your local repair shop and get a better deal. There were things that the Geek squad said that could not be repaired or replaced (gotta pay another fee for that now) but took it elsewhere and the computer repair guy fixed. There are things the Geek Squad should be able to trouble shoot but don't.
