Over all not bad that it protects everything.. but for 179.99 a month it's a little expensive, especially when it will only protect electronic purchases for 2 years total. It doesnt matter how long your paying for the membership. If it were less expensive or offered protection for electronic protection for as you had the membership id still have it.

I love having protection for all devices I am purchasing from Best Buy, Beach I purchase a lot for my company. The best time I remember was when I just got my brand new lap top and in 3 month something happened with its screen. Best Buy just gave me a new lap top in 5 min! It was an amazing experience. Now I am trying to buy everything only there, just in a case. I want to thank Ivan who works on South Beach office. He is always the best !

I simply cannot recommend Best Buy coverage plans for most laptops - perhaps mainstream models and simple repairs would be exceptions. The situation: My Lenovo Legion Slim gaming laptop hinge started to make popping and creaking noises. A quick online chat with Geek Squad confirmed they would repair this under my Best Buy/Geek Squad Protection Plan. Geek Squad Visit 1: After some convincing, the in-store Geek Squad agent accepted the laptop for repair with a $100 service fee. Most repairs are completed at Geek Squad City (a service center), so the laptop was mailed there and returned two weeks later without any work done. The technician also damaged the mylar port cover during handling or diagnostics. Thankfully the store refunded my original service fee since no work was performed. Geek Squad Visit 2: Considering the issue wasn’t resolved and returned damaged, I returned to my local store and attempted to resubmit the computer for repair. I taped detailed notes to laptop hopefully persuading Geek Squad City to resolve the two issues (hinge and new mylar damage). Thankfully, they replaced the hinge assembly and mylar. However, they clearly utilized used parts instead of OEM stock! The “new” mylar strip was simply double-sided taped on. Even worse, the new hinge assembly had a bent top case (basically the monitor is taped on) so LCD bezel cannot rest flush. They also didn’t replace internal foam that protects the mainboard from touching the metal bottom cover – suboptimal at best, shorting hazard at worst. Simply put: Subpar repair well below manufacturer standards. However, I decided further visits would likely worsen the situation and I could order parts to address the above, until I noticed one of the fans was not working. A wire was sheered on the fan cable during their service! Geek Squad Visit 3: The in-store technician confirmed the fan issue and the laptop returned to Geek Squad City for a third time. While they replaced the heatsink assembly, they AGAIN utilized a salvaged part (heatsink fins were damaged). Insulation for the motherboard was omitted for a second time. In summary: Expect repairs to utilize damaged, used or salvaged parts and “consumable” elements (such a mylar or shielding) to be ignored completely. If they leveraged Lenovo service guides, replacement parts are clearly indicated.

The TotalTech protection plan makes ALL the sense in the world. Think about it, I paid $199 for a 1 year subscription which includes add'l (mostly free) assistance by Geek Squad. I purchased a new laptop and the 1 year protection plan would have normally cost me $250 for one year. BECAUSE I AM A TOTALTECH member, I received TWO year protection plan on the laptop FOR FREE!!!! The TotalTech protection plan paid for itself in one purchase!! Its truly a no-brainer!

A must have and worth it. Covers everything you buy making it nice protection.

Spectacular laptop. This has all the features and speed needed for photo editing. Photos is what this is mostly used for. The RGB extras are great and keep this laptop vibrant and fun to use.

I was able to use the protection plan less than 3 weeks after purchasing a new Lenovo Yoga 9i as there was a crack in the screen. Best Buy would not replace it, therefore I had to use the plan to get a new screen. It was sent out & took 3 and a half weeks to receive back - longer than I had owned it.

Wouldnt purchase anything high end without it cannot go wrong withe a good protection plan!
