Washer and Dryer worked just fine…..BUT…the washers Lid broke in just one year. This is not a kid latch issue. The inside plastic in the lid cracked at the base where the lid hinge connects to the base of the washer. I assure you we are not abusing the lid or slamming it. My theory is the plastic is poor quality and I see there have been similar issues with these washers being damaged due to excessive vibration from unbalanced loads spooning or the washer was not installed/balanced properly. My issue is with the BB add’l protection we bought. What good is the BB protection plan? $700 GE washer lid broke conveniently days after the one year GE manufacturer warranty. I figure, I am glad I got the BB protection. NOPE! 2 calls into them. One they said they could not get anyone in my area. They escalated. Someone texted me saying he was the appliance guy for BB and he knows my damage would not be covered based I the description. I gave up on him. Next call to BB they charged me the $79 scheduling fee, so i thought they had someone. AFTER I PAID, the rep says it looks like there is no options in the calendar and they have to escalate. They said I would be contacted in 1-2 days. 4 days later no call. Called them Monday morning asking for status. I was Told they would have the escalate. I told them it was escalated. They said escalations should get call back in 2-4 hours. Again, they said no one is available in the area. I cannot believe I paid for protection and then paid to schedule an onsite and they cannot provide anyone. I just finished my call with a very helpful BB rep and hope we get some positive news in 2-4 hrs but the run around is a complete JOKE!

This review is on the Geek Squad repair and customer service for Maytag washer bought at Best Buy. The washer quit working and it took 5 days for a repair person to tell us what we had told them, the panel was out. The washer was left full of water for 3 weeks, mold had grown in it. The overnight part didn't come for 4 days and then took 3 more days for repair person to come out. We were told to drain 2 times then run heavy wash. It stunk up the whole house and stopped working. Called technician, he said it would have to be replaced and it would take 24 to 48 hours for that approval then order machine and then wait to get it scheduled. I did not pay extra for Geek Squad protection to be treated the way we have been. No return calls from service or call center. I would not recommend buying big appliances from Best Buy anymore only because of the Geek Squad service and the new way the call center is handled.
