This is a wonderful service. You can use them for any device, whether or not you bought it at Best Buy. I did, but you don’t have to. They solve my problems and teach me things.

Was able to cash in on one of my protection plans. It was a 5 year Geek Squad Protection Plan on a great OLED TV and in the 4th year there started to show several tiny dead pixels you could only see when looking extremely close up, but pixels that shouldn't be dead either way. Was able to get a geeks squad tech out quickly to my home, and he confirmed that I could get a refund for it. With that, I was able to purchase a brand new TV.

I like the peace of mind that this program offers, but in reality I have never needed to use it. The program offers wonderful options and coverage, but I would prefer that they give incentives to purchase other items, such as coupons or discounts, instead of all kinds of coverage that are of little use to an average customer.
