Do not use reward certs if you want the warranty

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Word of warning . . . if you use reward certificates to pay for even part of your item - THAT portion of the purchase is only refundable for 90 days. I learned this the hard way. I purchased an item for $149.99 and got the warranty as part of the membership. The item stopped working after about 14 months and I took it back to my local Best Buy after making the required appointment with their Geek Squad. I drove 75 miles to the store at which point they offered me a credit of $29.99 because I had used $120 in rewards certificates when I bought it. On their end that showed as a discount (suggesting that someone at the store offered me an 80% discount apparently) and they could only offer me what I actually paid for the item. I got pretty irate and showed them on my phone that it was NOT a discount but rather reward certificates but it did not matter. On their end it shows as a discount and that's all they care about. Personally, I have always treated the reward certificates like cash - and when I have them I use them because they expire. Not after today. DO NOT USE REWARD CERTIFICATES TO BUY ITEMS IF YOU WANT THE WARRANTY TO APPLY. The local store could not fix it or replace it so the best they could do was 20 cents on the dollar as a store credit. The warranty might still be OK if you only pay with cash but most people use these certificates as they are awarded and if you are like me and (used to) get a lot of stuff - the rewards can sometimes pay for your entire order (or most of it). Well today I learned you should NEVER do that. In fact, at this point I would only suggest buying consumables with reward certificates because it essentially voids the warranty by reducing the coverage to what you were out of pocket when you bought it only. Buyer beware.

I typically go to the same Best Buy. But one time I took my daughter to a different Best Buy one time and somehow was signed up for a new membership coverage. The old one expired so for about five months we had two coverages and I didn’t know. When I went to use the insurance I had it was no longer there and the company wouldn’t recognize What happened. So the equipment that I had purchased that should’ve been covered under warranty failed and when I went T is the coverage (one time) I wasn’t able to use it. So basically I paid over $1000 for insurance that I was never able to use when in fact I did have a rightful claim.

Hours spent on customer service to get the job done. Then my ACs. Firt installer said he needed a second person to remove the AC because it was attached to the window frame. . Over a week later he came back with a colleague. The two were unable to remove either AC. The told me I would have to get a window frame specialist to remove the ACs. Remembering the incompetence with the fridge, I called my super to check. He removed both AC s in less than ten minutes. I was unable to get customer service to arrange haulaway or installation. I got a case number and was happy not to have to repeat the issues each time I called. I tried using the case number 3 times. On each case I was put on a long hold then disconnected. Cute. I noticed there was a return by date. Not wanting to be stuck with your mess, we used the shopping cart and my husband's walker to return the ACs. You should be ashamed. I have shared my experiences with Best buy with my community. Word of mouth is powerful.

Cell Phone

The cell phone I purchased was priced reasonably but I have not been satisfied with it. The learning curve has been very steep and I still cannot use it. I am hoping I can find my old iPhone 8 and plan to use it,

Junk product

Screen lasted 2 months

Just Fair
