Great option best purchase love that I had it for an option

The plan we pay for is not as advertised. I needed the battery replaced in my MacBook Pro, brought it into the store and was informed the "Geek" squad can't work on it because they aren't allowed to open the laptop. This effectively negates the usefulness of the plan for us.

Glad that I have this protection for the investment I made on the product - it is free with TotalTech membership.

Have had this protection for a year from another purchase. Was good use of money. This time it was a family share and have had issues with contacting the right number. They even changed primary number without authorization.

I initially loved my Best Buy Total Tech membership and thought it was well worth the money. I paid for the plan for three years, mainly for the peace of mind it provided, especially with its promise of tech support and warranty coverage. I intentionally purchased products from Best Buy because I trusted that this membership would ensure I was covered if something went wrong. For most of those three years, I didn’t need to use the warranty or tech support services. However, the one time I actually needed help, the experience was so frustrating and disappointing that it completely changed my view of the membership—and the store as a whole. When I reached out for assistance, I was bounced around from one employee to another, transferred repeatedly between departments, and left feeling like no one genuinely cared about resolving my issue. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a nightmare. This experience made me cancel the membership and write this review to warn others: this service is not what it claims to be. It’s frustrating to realize I paid for something that failed to deliver when it mattered most. Unfortunately, this single incident has completely soured my opinion of Best Buy, and I will no longer be shopping there.

Seems like a good purchase but I haven't used the extended coverage. So I can't speak to it.

I am not sure what this protection is for. It would be appreciated that they would add what is being protected. If it's for a video game, it would be pretty difficult to damage the cartridge because of how well they're built. I guess in case of a fire or any human error which might occur.
