On Items over $1000, I would recommend the warranty purchase. Just know that it does not cover accidental damage. So when your sister's tripod falls against your Sony A80J and cracks the screen and the TV stops working thereafter, just know the warranty does not cover its replacement. Its a good warranty, but, it would be 5 stars if it also covered accidental damage also!

I have had to use my Best Buy Protection in the past and always glad I have them backing me up.

When a unit feels it is no fault of Best Buy. I have used this several times in the products that I have purchased and had zero issues.

Had to switch out a TV set because of some missed features. The plan took care of everything including the new installation.

I've been a total tech support member for 5 years and now they've added a 2 year extended warranty for being a total tech support member.
