Help but .....

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When we first purchased the Orbi it was easy to set up and worked great but the past couple of mot has it just stopped working and disconnects from the internet continuously, at least 10 times a day which is frustrating when I work from home. The Ethernet cable is connected directly to my internet modem and still disconnects. I have called their help desk and they won’t assist unless I pay the monthly service. Basically it will no longer connect at this point.

Not better than Geek Squad in terms of coverage

For big ticket items like TVs, geek squad is much better in terms of coverage. You can tell customer service to replace your TotalTech with Geek Squad on just the TV because it gives better coverage. TotalTech requires you to pay a deductible if repair or replacement is needed... why do you need to pay a deductible???

Never could get it connected

Great program to have

I had problem with dishwasher and I didn’t like it; it was immediately replaced with better brand. I had my new big screen tv installed to wall with technician at no charge, etc.

Free perk of total tech membership

We definitly got our moneys worth out of the membership this year with several large purchases. Best Buy's price match policy defintely give them an edge over competitors.

Protect your sanity and don't spend the money

Situation: smart monitor that uses a remote had the remote stop responding without unplugging it and plugging it back in for it to only work for a few clicks. I tried online support with Best buy and they told me to go into the store. I took the remote into the store and this is where it really got frustrating. The geek squad guy's first question was whether or not I needed the remote to use the monitor. So I do need it, but even if I didn't, it should work. Then his response was that I would need to send the monitor and the remote back, which is a non-starter because I need the monitor for work, and when the monitor goes to sleep it won't turn back on without the remote. He tried to tell me they need both because the remote is paired to the monitor....that's not true either. I pointed out that they sell replacement remotes for this, so he responded my option then is to just contact samsung. So I either need to send off my monitor or go somewhere else for help. The monitor is not the problem. This is just poor service.

Monthly Protection

2 Year Warranties with Total Tech Should be Annual

Save your money

Complete lack of support.

Completely died after 16 months, so I contacted Total Tech rep for service. Set up a tech for the next week. When he called to confirm the day before, he said that they never gave him model info. Told him, and he said mini fridges are not serviceable so I have to contact the store. Called the local number on the Google listing, ended up in an offshore call center. This guy told me I can't just bring it in, have to set up a Geek Squad appointment. Another week of waiting for a 7pm appointment. Drag it to the store, the GS tech asks why I have that in the store. He was "sure those Managers by the front door would love to hear the whole story" but this has nothing to do w/him. Got a mgr, who informed me that when I bought the fridge it was under the old TT plan before they changed it (in the past year) so I'm out of luck and there's nothing he can do, even though we're still paying for the plan. Not a knock on him, he really tried to help, but bottom line is that the TT coverage is pretty much useless.
