Purchased open box item flagged as excellent condition. After multiple attempts across different receivers and emotive power amp, limited sound came through. Checked power supply, checked cables… flat sound. This speaker did not work as intended. When returning the product I was asked why I waited 3 weeks to return the speaker. As a working adult, I have other priorities, but needed to return this item or exchange for a new speaker (same model, just new). I was advised a manager would have to make the final decision because of the amount of time I kept the speaker, considering I I had 3 more weeks to complete my return. In speaking with the manager, I was asked if I swapped out the speaker with a damaged product. With my 5 year old next to me, I kindly explained why I took 3 weeks to return the product. After having to explain how I connected the center channel with various equipment, the manager approved my return. I asked to simply order a new one for me instead, he declined that option and asked that I order the speaker online. I’m still very interested in listening to this speaker in my home theater, I just have to find an independent audio store that has this brand in stock or make sure I’m available for delivery at home. Speaker was glossy, quite heavy (40-45lbs), power source, looks to be very well built. Open Box Item - Understand that open box items are great deals, but may run into problems if the product is faulty and need to make a return.

Having an extra warranty is great, 1 year just doesn’t cut it when products don’t last that long.
