Great just what I needed, would buy again. Perfect for phone

The 2-yr phone coverage apparently works different if you have a Samsung phone vs. any other manufacturer. I dropped my phone and the screen when black. First of all, this coverage contract is for replacement only, not repair. Second, the geek squad rep said if I had a different make of phone (other than Samsung), they could have given me a Best Buy credit for the original price so I could buy a different phone, and my contract would end. But because it's a Samsung, they have to order a replacement (rebuilt) phone for me which I should get in the mail in a couple days, after which, I will need to ship the old phone back. I'm now without a phone waiting for the replacement to arrive, and there's no way to track the shipment because it just says "purchase at store". Not what I would call helpful. Maybe this is the way it's written up, and maybe there's some fine print somewhere that I can't find, but I give Best Buy a failing grade for transparency. I suppose I probably would have still bought the contract had I known these things ahead of time, but I would have liked to be informed about how it really worked. I would rather have a sales person who is trained in product knowledge and customer education, than one who is more focused on making the sale. Hopefully, my replacement phone will arrive soon.

Excellent product! Dropped my new phone cracking the screen and back of phone. Walked into Geek Squad and had store credit for the MSRP value of the phone (in less than 20 minutes) even though I paid less with an open box item. Super easy and quick. No haggling or annoying questions.

More and more big name insurance companies don't cover lost or stolen cell phones anymore. Allstate didn't, State farm doesn't (if it's not stolen from your home). They have these other companies that just insurance cell phones. It's like $15 a month. Geek squad was the better deal, most convenient at the time so I said lefts do it fool! Trying to get robbed tonight!

They didn’t come out to my house to help but I spoke with them and they took care of every single question I had. They even had answers to those questions that makes you sound like you just woke up after being in a coma for the last 50 years and have no idea how this new stuff works. That geek squad was so Patient and answered everyone of my questions.

Geek Squad made replacing my Samsung Galaxy S22+ a breeze. I was able to be seen before my appointment and the whole thing took less than 15 minutes!

I always use Geek squad protection as well. I have needed it once with a galaxy fold bc I damaged the screen dropping it and a row of pixels went dead and Best Buy protection took care of it the same day. I can’t recommend this service enough. Best Buy is my favorite store and I have nothing negative to say about this service or their company.

as must when buying any item! make it easier on yourself! get the protection. or end up with a 18 year old the rest of your life. then finally you saved up to fix or buy another phone! protection is always a must. so protect you investment! not everything is an Accidental mistake.

I have had very good experience with quality service all the time, Since I bought a laptop very expensive and just as the warranty ended it broke down I had regreat all time why I didnt pay a little bit more for extended warranty. So everytime I buy a new appliance I try not to risk my self and knowing this is a very good quality service I dont hesitate to pay a little extra

I bought this insurance and it was cheaper than going with Samsung. Towards the end of 2 years my phone was cracked and camera issues. I called it in and it was simple, I was given a new phone with a low deductible. It was sure cheaper than spending another $1,200. I recommend it.

Unlike other geek squad warranties, please be warned that cell phone protection plans have a $200 deductible in addition to the initial $169 fee. If your phone is still available, they will only replace it with the exact phone you have, no credit towards upgrades. Additionally they cannot guarantee your replacement will be new or refurbished. Using your warranty will consume your first protection plan fee, so if you want protection for your replacement, you'll have to repurchase. $169 + $200 +$169= $538. Depending on your phone generation, that's a considerable investment into an old, refurbished phone. Wish I knew this going into the deal, otherwise I would be persuaded doing business elsewhere. In my case, I had my warranty pro rated & refunded. My service provider gave me $350 for my busted up S10+, and I used that toward a new S21 ultimate. Goodluck.

Great service when I purchased new cell phone. The Squad set it up to transfer all data from my old phone. Now I need to contact them to see if they will help me install new front door cam on the same device. I've tried myself but the instructions are no help. I will update review after I contact the Geek Squad. Then I may add my laptop.

We purchased a Motorola Z3 phone that was previously opened. Motorola would not offer an extended warranty through their Motocare services because it had been "previously activated". Geek Squad offered this coverage - which was most appreciated. Phone was new - in excellent condition, And we got the extended warranty we wanted at a competitive price.
