Also, it charges completely in a decent amount of time. It even charges through the thick outer rubber casing of my Otter Box Defender iphone case, fantastic!

Must have been a dud. The new one works and my husband is pleased with it on the nightstand to charge each night.

It does have a tendency to get hot if left for several hours, as in when I go to bed, so often if I wake in-the night I’ll take it off the charger.
