Bought as a gift 2019, December

So when I go to buy a product such as the mophie powerstation I look to the sales person for advice. I purchased this device as a gift. I was not told that it was not compatible with an iPhone7. Given as a gift and was not told that it wasn't working properly until a month or so later. Covid hit and then it was impossible to return to Best Buy. Contact the manufacturer and they basically said it could take up to two (2) hours or more to charge the iPhone. What??? No offer made to exchange or credit to make this purchase right. Again, unfortunately for me I am not technically savy. I take part of the blame but you would think someone would offer some kind of discount on a different device in light of the Covid return policy. Very Very Frustrated.
