Peter Jackson expected a lot from a steampunk movie based on a book series most people haven't heard of. Mortal Engines is one of the biggest box office bombs and it's not hard to see why. It appeals to a very small and specific type of audience. I enjoyed it and didn't mind buying it on Black Friday sale, but most people won't even want to waste that money. You're better off renting it or catching it on cable.

The movie is good. However, Dolby ATMOS would not work. I have a top of the line Sony UHD blue ray player, a Samsung K950 soundbar with Dolby ATMOS, and a “C” model, LG 65” OLED TV. Even going directly from the UHD player to the soundbar, it would not play in ATMOS. The reason I purchase UHD 4K DVD’s in ATMOS is to hear the theater quality sound. I was very disappointed here. Other 4K DVD’s play in ATMOS just not this one.

This movie was entertaining but wasn’t anything to write home about. Special effects was hands down the strongest part of this movie

Not what I expected, but an interesting "Steam Punk" type future story. 4k transfer was good, LFE channel, wow! The giant "city" machines rolling across the land will give your subs a work out, duals rule! No Atmos in my setup, so I can't comment on that. Overall surround mix was good on my 7.2 setup.

Movie was just ok. Excellent and interesting plot but poor execution. However, the video and audio quality are demo worthy. A pristine and detailed picture with a great application of HDR. Colors pop and the specular highlights jump off the screen. For audio bass hits deep, the audio is clear, and the height channels for ATMOS get plenty of work.

I did not have very high expectations for this film, but actually enjoyed it. Great effects, decent storyline and fun to watch.

The movie was okay. Story line, graphics and SFX were good. This movie was one of those watch once and watch again in 5 years.

This was a fun popcorn flick, lots of action and cool costumes. However the story jumps around a lot and lacks a good flow.

In terms of picture quality this is one of the more breathtaking UHDs you can find. The movie itself is pretty forgettable.

Alright little film as long as like me you’re just looking to pass the time and not seeking a classic of any kind.

It seems that sci if apocalyptic movies are never ending. Heaven help us all if this is really a glimpse of things to come

I didn't know much about this movie when released but I had mild interest in it. Wasn't great, but wasn't terrible either.

Watching this movie I couldn’t help but think how bad it was. I don’t think I’ve felt this strongly since I saw The Wall

Didn’t care for the movie, but it’s a must own if you have a 4k tv with Dolby vision. Amazing detail and picture quality.

Not the best movie I've seen lately, but it was very easy on the eyes.. Decent story, but nothing to write home about...

In a post apocalyptic time big mobile cities track across the lands devouring little engines that could... or not!!

Great movie in 4K. Love the visual effects are done very well and the story is interesting too. Some interesting characters and good amount of action and suspense. This is an adventure and the visuals really help bring that immersion. I took a chance and didn’t know a thing about the movie and I wasn’t disappointed!

If you're into 4K visuals this movie will not disappoint but the story is a little lacking in the middle.

This movie starts out and really goes nowhere. Looks like might had been good. Science fiction all the way.
