Great sound, great features! Love the in-ear hook, so that I don't have to mess with the over-ear hook, which always gets tangled in my hair! Only thing that would improve this is an easier way to turn the device on and off; have to fold the boom into your cheek. Also, would be better with a way to pause and play your device, if listening to music or audiobook. Other than that, great device!

Good brand. Good product. A must have as IL now requires hands free devices while driving. Works well and a good price. Couldn't be happier.

    Excellent Headset

The battery usually charges in 30 minutes (or less) and lasts for 6 hours of talk time. The only issue I have is the flip switch that turns the unit off/on. I am on my 4th or 5th headset because it likes to break over time. as long as I can keep replacing it under warranty, I'll put up with it but a small redesign would make this a hands down 5 star unit.

Just got this but I've been trying it out. Been working like a champ so far. I've been testing a lot with Siri and even with music up and sunroof open "she" understands everything I'm saying. I've had no complaints from the few people I've actually talked to on the phone. I love that you can turn it on and off by flipping the little mic arm out - makes knowing when it's off and on so much easier.

Motorola - Why Equipment Protection Plans Exist

    Posted .

In the past couple of years I've owned 2 Motorola Bluetooth headsets. Both had seemingly innovative designs or offered some advantage in charging or call clarity. My first purchase was an Elite Silver. The ES proved disappointing in virtually every way. It's clamshell charger is virtually useless unless it's connected to a power supply, but Motorola supposedly designed it to hold it's own charge. The swivel-action on/off mechanism was faulty, and to everyone I spoke with, my voice was so muddy and distorted so as to render the device useless in 2-way communication. More recently, I bought (and loved up until this morning when the boom simply snapped off in my hands from opening it) the Motorola Boom. The headset still functions, and, though better than the ES, the on/off toggle just snapped off in my hands. I stand by the statement in the summary. If you buy a Motorola headset, go ahead and get the equipment protection plan. You'll thank me later.

After purchasing this headset, I read that many had issues with the boom part breaking fairly quickly.. I therefore made sure I was very careful with this part of the headset. Today after just 4 months of use, it broke. Beware of this design. I like the design feature but the part is made too fragile to make it worth it.

    Ear hook breaks too easily

Love the electronics of this earpiece, but the ear hook breaks in less that 60 days. I bought two for my wife and myself, and BOTH ear hooks snapped off. We are both seniors and do not abuse them. The product is useless if you cannot use it,.

    Motorola Boom Bluetooth

I love my Motorola Boom, it does everything I need a Bluetooth to do. But this is my second one. The speaker keeps breaking. Not right away. After using it for 6-8 months. Hopefully in the future, they can make it alittle more sturdy. Then I'd definitely give it 5 plus stars.

    Good audio quality, terrible fitment

I previously had a Plantronics Marque 2 (M165) and I must say, this Motorola Boom unit has better audio quality. But if fitment is important to you, go with Plantronics. The Plantronics was very comfortable in either of my ear, but not much so for the Motorola. If audio quality is more important to you, stick with this Boom headset. I chose to try the Boom after reading countless reviews online.

I have been using this same earpiece for about two years now and love it. However, after about 6-7 months, it keeps breaking off at the end and I have had to replace it several times. God thing I bought the extended warranty...

    Works great but not durable

This headset has clear sound and is comfortable but i had two of them break on me within a year. I only used it maybe 2 days a week at most. After time flipping the boom mic out the plastic hinge tends to break and the boom falls completely off. The first one broke after 6 months. The second one lasted about 8. Best Buy allowed me to exchange it a third time by purchasing the protection plan but i opted for another model this time without moving parts.

    reliable bluetooth ear piece

I wanted an option over earbud cords so opted for this Bluetooth for the phone. It lasts for 6 hours once charged and recharges very quickly, like over a half hour +-. Volume is clear and it is comfortable to wear...not sure what other attributes you could want.

    Nice device, audio quality issues

I picked one of these up at my local store today, and I am taking it back tomorrow. I had no trouble pairing, and I liked the small size and multiple pairing features. During calls the other end said they could hear my fine, but in all the calls I was on, it was always reported that there was significant echo. It's clear that the cancellation is trying, but it is apparently not up to the task. It was bothersome enough that the conference call I was on switched lines several times thinking it was their end, but I was able to confirm later it is the headset. Short version: Good design, nice device, but has significant issues in the primary function.

    Buy the Jambra brand instead!!

I purchased the Motorola boom bluetooth headset on 6/16/15, and on 11/14/15 it broke. I have not even had this device a full five months and it's garbage! The plastic joint , that turns on the mic (you have to flip the mic out to turn the bluetooth device on and flip back under to turn off), broke and now the device does not recognize when it's on or off. I paid $47.99 and feel it was a waste of money! I didn't even use this headset every day, and for it to break that easily tells me it was junk to begin with. I recommend buying a bluetooth headset that does NOT have a flip mic and is just once whole piece. I went back to best buy yesterday (11/16/15) and bought a new bluetooth headset, by Jabra, which so far I like MUCH better than the Motorolla boom, plus it was only $25. So far I've noticed the Jambra headset connects to my phone every time I turn it on. My Motorola boom did not do that and was a pain getting the two connected. The Jabra is also more comfortable sitting on and in my ear versus the Motorola boom, which I had to adjust constantly to stay in and on my ear. Do yourself a favor and buy the Jambra headset and skip buying the Motorola boom.
