I like all the features on this phone.I Left an iphone 4 and I like the x much better (except the picture quality). The size was good (easy to pocket). Build Quality is really good. Love that I can access the phone without touching it. The screen was hard to see outside sometimes and no expandable memory but I can live with it. I will move to the x pure next. Keep it up Motorola!

    Best Droid based phone yet

I have had this for two weeks, great phone. Yep, the screen is a little smaller an it doesn't have the big processors like the Samsung or big battery like the DROID MAXX... but, it is not bloated with extra stuff and is the purest Google operating system phone. I read about camera issues, have not experienced any, Kit Kat loaded immediately after I turned it on. It hasn't frozen or lagged on me once. The google talk function is awesome, very little effort was needed to sync it with my voice and it works flawlessly. I have gone a full day on one charge with light/moderate use, have not had a "heavy" day yet but based on how the phone is configured to save battery by limited screen view and processor usage, it shouldn't be a problem. Plus, it is assembled here in the USA, that is really what sold it for me.

I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy Nexus as my last phone. I loved that phone except for the horrible battery life; I had to charge it roughly 3 times a day. I switched to this phone because one, the X8 cpu system intrigued me, two it was very close to stock Android, and three it supposedly had a great battery life. So on the forefront the X8 system is pure innovative genius, no fluff here. The phone did get some initial flak for having "last years processor" and trust me I am one of the largest tech junkies you will meet. You would never know this phone didn't have the best quad core out there. The ability for the phone to delegate what it does to different processors really works well for this phone. Everything thing on it runs insanely smooth. No lag at all. Secondly, this phone is very, very close to stock Android the bloatware from Verizon is even surprisingly limited and is liveable. I hate manufacturer skins that they put on top of Android they are all so cluttered and bulky. This, is perfect, it's still clean, easy on the eyes, and if I want a feature or a gadget... there's an app for that :) (separate note) The screen on the phone, yes, it's not 1080p like some of the competition out there but pixel density is decent and you really don't notice unless you're looking for it. The screen is really a trade off, there are far fewer pixels for the gpu to push around which means it uses far less battery power and to me that's a very acceptable compromise. Last but certainly not least the actual battery life is far better than I expected. Even though I have had this phone for several weeks now I am still amazed at how well it does. The "breath notification", which I love, alone saves me a lot of battery life from having to constantly wake the main processor and turn the whole screen on to see if anyone has said hi. I am a pretty heavy user I play my Castle Crash multiple times a day, I watch a half hour video every day for lunch, check my Facebook, G+, send probably 100 txts a day min. and a few times a day I read through all my Tech news from Pulse, surf the web, listen to Pandora and surf the web. Even with all that I still have battery at the end of the day. Granted it's getting down there and if it's a Friday night and you're going out on the town you may want to throw it on a charger but a normal day it really does last a whole day. Overall I have been very impressed with this phone and there really isn't anything I would change about it. This may finally be a line of phone that I can stick with for the foreseeable future.

First off id like to say i recommend getting only the black version of this phone or wait for motomaker in November when you can customize the colors. The black version has a soft touch feel to it that feels perfect in the hand. The White one feels more like a samsung phone. Anyone I really like this phone it is fast and smooth stock android. and not full of bloated useless features like samsung and not a limited device with tiny screen like iphone. And even though it has a 4.7" screen the phone it self is very compact and feels like the perfect size in the hand. The added features they put on top of android are actually useful and not gimmicks that slow down the phone. The active notifications changed how i use my phone. I no longer have to check my phone constantly.

Best phone on the market, destroys iPhone

Bought this phone and fell in love immediately. Came from a Galaxy S3 and had nothing but good things to say about it during my year with it. Motorola has the best phone call quality and they stepped up the cell phone game with a phone that actually utilizes its cpu cores correctly and benefits the user rather than just being a number on a spec sheet like the HTC One or GS4. It destroys the Siri function with the Google Now feature that is actually feasible and is FAST. This phone has ZERO hiccups and takes great pictures as well! The screen is very well done and the battery gets me through the entire day with quite a bit of usage. The way this phone feels in your hand is how a phone is meant to feel while maintaining a large screen at the same time. I can't find a reason for anyone to buy an iPhone after they have held this phone and used it for 5 minutes, it's built better (in the USA - not China), easy to use, is blazing fast, and isn't just a fashion statement phone like the iPhone is. The speakers are quite good I only wish they could be on the front. I have used the One, GS4, and iPhone 5 and none of those phones even come close to the experience I have had with this phone. I wish I had something negative to say about it but Motorola really outdid themselves with this device, you simply cannot go wrong with this phone.

I had a Galaxy S4 for a year and a half when it updated to Lollipop. As soon as that phone updated I lost the use of Bluetooth and Wifi and my battery life became dismal. I tried so many things to "fix" the issues with the S4 and Lollipop and finally decided to buy something else outright instead of waiting to upgrade with my contract. This phone has completely exceeded my expectations. Battery life is great, it's been compatible with all of my favorite apps. Even watching netflix videos on it is way better than my S4 ever was (It would constantly buffer and lag). Phone calls have been clear and crisp and the bluetooth connects flawlessly with my Subaru. Side note, the first phone that Best Buy shipped me came in an opened box and looked like someone had returned it. This concerned me so I contacted Best Buy and they quickly sent out a replacement and a return authorization.

I have always had good service from Motorola phones and this one is the best so far. Battery life is great, charges relatively fast, taking pictures is very easy and the picture quality is better than the I phones. Web surfing is fast and the operating system has no lags so far. Voice texting is a breeze (love that) and overall the Moto X is a nice size with contoured back. Fit the hand, not too big and not too small, just right. You can't go wrong with this phone. Great job Motorola!!

If there are any of these 1st generation moto x phones left in stock, you should get one before they're gone! If you are looking for a good quality, simple to use smartphone, this is the one to buy! Its easy to use. there is no manual but its simple enough to figure out. I had an iPhone 4 before this one, and its much better, in my opinion. It does what its supposed to do, with no fuss. It just works. I've had it for about a month. With no problems. Call quality is fine, 4g speeds are good. There is no SD card slot, but I have an iPod so I don't need to put all my music on here. I have a few albums and maybe 30 apps and still have 6 GB of space left.

There are tons of glowing reviews of this phone, so I won't waste your time with what I like. One thing I don't like is the camera. It's not the greatest in terms of quality imaging, but that's not the issue. Camera controls are really lacking. You're only able to turn on/off the flash, shutter sound, and a few other options. I really miss being able to take smaller-than-max-resolution photos, especially since there is no microSD slot (another gripe, but i can't work with 16gb). This is the FIRST Android phone that I can use all day and not have to charge. My first day of use (learning the phone, playing with settings, etc) was ~18 hours without charging, and still had 20+% battery remaining.

    Coming From an iPhone 5S

Coming from an iPhone 5s I really have enjoyed this phone to the point where I am unsure about going back to my 5s.. I am a youtube reviewer for tech products and have tried a lot of different android devices and thus far this is my favorite device period between android and iOS. I love the touchless control it is much more useful than siri although when it comes to productivity siri does have google now beat.. The actual design of this phone is superb. Although, it lacks the beautiful brushed aluminum the 5S has or the HTC One its ergonomic structure is built to fit in your hand perfectly while allowing excellent one handed use which Motorola nailed. The amoled display although is only 720p put it next to the HTC One and its hard to tell pixel density difference. Of course the One has a much better display but from day to day use in the most simple tasks you will not notice a difference. The same goes for specs.. This phone may have lower specs but performs as well as the higher spec devices like the S4, One, and 5S. Check out my video link below for a more detailed review.

Great software features, but bad camera and flimsy

The software features on this phone are excellent, particularly the Active Display notifications that let you know what's happening behind the scenes when your phone's gone to sleep (without needing to wake it up#. The build quality, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Apply a little force, and you can separate the face plate from the pack. I accidentally did this while trying to remove a TPU case. Nothing horrifies you more than seeing your expensive new phone start to come apart within weeks of getting it. The screen, being 720p, also leaves a bit to be desired. The worst feature, though, is the awful, awful camera. Being able to open the camera app with two twists of the wrist is nice, but you'll find yourself wondering why more effort was put into figuring out a method for making the camera more accessible instead of more, well, functional. Seriously, camera shots from the Moto X look like they've had a mud filter applied to them. Outdoor shots are blurry and washed out, and indoor shots all become an unintentional tour through every shade of brown imaginable. Best to skip the original X and go for the far superior 2014 Moto X #2nd gen)

The Moto X could very well be the best smartphone out right now. It's extremely smooth; I haven't seen it studder once. The size is perfect - not too big, but still has a large screen. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great phone.

One of the best Android phone options

I switched to the Moto X from the Galaxy S4, and I'm very happy with my decision. The S4 is a fantastic phone, but I was not a huge fan of TouchWiz (Samsung's skin on the OS). The Moto X is the closest thing that Verizon has to stock android. The active display is a really cool feature, as well as being able to say "okay google now" even when your screen is locked. If you're looking for a solid android phone, or looking to switch from an iPhone to an android phone, the Moto X is the way to go.

I like all the new features and predictive behaviors. I like the new easy access to notifications on the screen. It's fast. So far the camera is very good. It doesn't get quite the reception that my Razr Maxx HD did in the same locations. Nor does the battery life equal the same time even though the stats are basically the same. The screen scratched the second day I had it on the bezel of my work phone in my pocket. Once they have it in stock, I'll be exchanging it AGAIN. Thanks Best Buy for the protection plan! Who needs a case and worthless protectors. Just get a new one!
