Works nice but Intermittently cuts out, power button works funky and refuses to connect via Bluetooth app. Have gone through moza customer service and done all updates/calibrations. Same issues. Steering wheel is tiny, super cheap and plastic-y. This thing works well but has a lot of small issues, would've bought fanatec if they weren't such a horrid company to do business with.

    Best Entry Level Kit

The Moza R5 Bundle is the complete racing simulator starter kit for those looking to upgrade and have a serious setup. I currently have a GTR Pro Model Racing Simulator with a 49 Ultrawide Monitor. I removed my old entry level steering wheel and pedals and pulled out the MOZA R5 bundle. The first thing I noticed was high quality parts with premium metals and materials applied to the Core wheelbase and pedal construction. Pros: Very sturdy base Easy to install- Plug and Play Balanced Torque feedback Customizable resistance and settings Cons: No Clutch Pedal? Additional Cost.. Setup: 9/10 Having setup a few different sim racing setups before this was pretty straight forward. The instructions were simple to follow as I wanted to make sure I wasn't messing anything up. A pro tip: Make sure you are adding the system in the game you are playing, I tested on Sim Racing, Forza Horizon 5 and Assetto Corsa Evo. These were fairly easy to map to and function as intended. Sim Racing of course allowed for some better refinements for more feedback and adjusting the pedal pressure sensitivity outside the APP. The Unit 10/10 This isn't your $2-3K Drive unit, what this is is an entry level drive unit that gives you an entry point with a 5.5Nm Torque feedback that blurs the line between casual and sim characteristics. It allows for sufficient immersion which everyone can handle from the start and get into the fun feedback of racing elements. An additional factor i like is it is made from Aviation grade aluminum. Pedals: 7/10 This area was my only gripe or negative because lower end models from other brands offer a clutch standard. This model doe snot include the SR-P lite Clutch pedal, which cost an additional $43 not bad but just include it as an all in one solution. The pedals are the SR-P Lite Pedals and when I was looking they do have the Hall sensors used for the feedback and pressure. The pedals also do have the anti slip coating on them. ( Side Note) Additionally, they do sell a Performance kit for $29 ( per pedal) that still isn't a load cell quality but the extra resistance is given via a spring. ( I purchased this upgrade and the clutch to try their whole offering. ( The upgrades aren't really needed if you are just looking for a quick plug and race a few and remove). Overall: 9/10 I like the base package that is presented in this, mainly the build, construction and its quality at the price point. I had zero issues with this product across all my games, and actually enjoyed the sim racing aspect on sim racing and felt better performance over entry level products. I highly recommend this for someone just getting into the hobby of becoming semi serious versus a controller.

Perfect entry into serious sim setups

For years, I resisted the urge to add a wheel to my setup. Controllers are good enough, I told myself…but then this bundle from MOZA came along, offering many advanced features at a price point that wasn’t totally crazy. I figured I’d give it a spin, and see if the hype about a wheel and pedal setups was true. For this enthusiast bundle, MOZA has centered on their R5 direct drive force feedback base. Accompanying the base are the SR-P lite pedals and the ES steering wheel. Everything is well packed in the box, along with a basic getting started guide, the power supply, a cable to connect the pedals to the base, some screws, bolts, and wrenches, and a USB cable to connect to the PC. Getting the clamp attached to the wheel base just involves 4 bolts. Mount the clamp on the desk, connect the cables, line up the wheel and just push it into the base, and you are ready to power up and get started. The R5 base provides plenty of strength and is compatible with all of the current MOZA wheels. It’s compact, but still offers great fidelity and enough power that you can feel the road. The wheel is a pretty typical “GT” style wheel. The leather wrap feels nice in the hands, and the button layout is intuitively laid out with a D pad and traditional ABXY buttons, along with several other buttons and the shift paddles. It all feels very high quality. If I had any complaint, it would be that the buttons are not backlit. After a while you get used to where they are, but even a basic single color backlight would have been handy here. The pedals work well for what they are. The base is not very heavy and you may need to mount it to something to keep it from moving during spirited driving depending on the floor it’s on. These aren’t the most advanced pedals out there, but for getting started in more serious simulator racing, they certainly do the job. MOZA’s software is pretty good, with tons of options that have built in descriptions to help figure out what everything does. Calibrating the pedals and centering the wheel are all easy, and then you are pretty much ready to go! Using a direct drive base, wheel, and pedals is a revelation. Now I finally understand what the hype is all about. Controllers are a sad substitute for a true wheel and pedal setup. Ripping though the gears with the shift paddles, feeling the road tug and push the car, the force of an impact, all delivered with high fidelity through the wheel, is an entirely different level of immersion. The shift indicators lighting up and then flicking the shift paddles feels like a real race car. I found myself just driving around for the fun of it in Forza Horizon 5, almost feeling like I was really driving a real car, just enjoying the scenery and feeling connected to the car. The R5 base provides strong force feedback, and while there are even stronger bases out there, this is plenty for most gamers. It’s kind of the perfect blend of size and strength. One little quirk, and this is not the fault of MOZA, is that to get the system to work in Forza Horizon 5 requires loading a special config file and setting up a few things. MOZA provides easy to follow step by step instructions, and it was working in just a few minutes. Overall, this setup is a great balance of features, performance, and price. If you are moving up from a basic wheel to a direct drive, or wanting to spend once on a setup that will have plenty of features and staying power, this is one you should consider.

Overall, the build quality is excellent. Everything is made of strong materials and feels really durable. There is a lot of adjustability and customizability options which I really appreciate. The steering wheel is 11 inches in diameter, has one flat side, made from aluminum, and wrapped in leather. It feels very sturdy and premium, like something that actually feels similar to something you’d find in to a car. The wheel has 22 built-in buttons which have a satisfying click when used. Included in the buttons are two paddle shifters which feel comparable to real paddle shifters. There are also 10 built-in LEDs that are very bright. The wheel base is also made out of aluminum so feels very durable and sturdy. It’s direct drive (which is the ideal type of wheel motor). The motor has 5.5nm of torque which feels like more than enough for an entry level sim-racing setup. Speaking of entry level sim racing setup, this comes with a desk clamp, so even though I don’t have a fancy cockpit, I can still fundamentally get a good sim racing experience. The pedals are made of stainless steel, have adjustable pedals, and utilize Hall effect sensors so they should stay functionally accurate over time. Assembly/installation was straightforward. The wheel, base, and pedals all come individually assembled. The clamp needs to be attached to the base using 4 screws which is super easy. The wheel has a quick-release mechanism, it can be attached to the base as simply as pushing it on while the bearings are aligned. Connecting the different pieces of the racing sim together are also really easy. They appear to connect via a standard RJ45 cable. All the peripherals connect to the computer with a USB cable. Installing the MOZA pit house software was also really simple. Using this sim racing wheel is great. Movement feels really accurate to the inputs I put in. The 5.5nm of force feedback is excellent and makes me feel like I’m actually racing. One of my biggest concerns about sim wheels is the noise level, and I’m happy to say this thing seems to be as quiet as it can be. One thing that makes this product so great is the MOZA pit house software. The pit house software allows for full customizability of the setup—the amount of force feedback and the min/max of pedal travel being key adjustability options. Another thing I really love about this setup is the ability to upgrade it. MOZA has a number of upgrade options. As I get more into sim racing, I can add new peripherals like a clutch pedal, a floor gear shifter, a handbrake, or different wheel options, among other things. Overall, this is a great product I can highly recommend if you are interested in an entry level sim racing setup at a great value.

This Moza Racing Simulator Wheels and Pedals are replacing a much more budget friendly setup I had installed previously that I was pleased with. However, the previous setup was plastic based and over time of letting a very excitable child play his games with it, I found myself pulling out the soldering iron and building brackets to fix the wear and tear of that device. So when this Moza setup became available, I could not turn down the opportunity to see what a higher price point setup had to offer. Spoiler: Totally worth it! Immediately out of the box you will feel why this product demands a more premium price point than some other options out there. This Steering wheel and pedal combo includes a lot of aluminum, steel, and leather that will excite even the most mild tempered gamer. The steering wheel just radiates on exotic feel and when mounted to the direct drive base unlocks your chance to feel like you are in an exotic car cockpit without the six figure investment. While on the topic, the steering wheel has a very slick quick disconnect function that will scratch that itch for all of you Nascar fans out there. When your session is over, press the connection collar, disconnect the steering wheel, and hang it up like the pros do! Simple, but a really cool feature that will allow you to mount the steering wheel base at a multiuse desk, but remove the wheel itself to free up desk space for other less exhilarating activities. This setup includes a gas and brake pedal that are also very rigid. Out of the box they are extremely far apart with the brake being even farther apart than a clutch pedal would be in most cars. However, this pedal base is modular and you can adjust pedal spacing to your liking, as well as pedal feel and engagement. This steering wheel does include force feedback, which I love, however does require some fine tuning out of the box. During most of the testing, this setup was used with BeamNG, which is very customizable and after a couple hours of testing and key binds, I was able to get the steering wheel to my liking. I will say that if you are using this steering wheel for similar, the force feedback needs turned WAY down as the wheel base has a pretty powerful motor and at factory settings will overbearing. Moza does have its own program called the Pit House which is fairly intuitive. They also market an app, however I was not able to get it to work successfully with the steering wheel. Using the Pit House program, it will walk you through initial calibration which is quick and simple. Minor problem was that after I went through the initial calibration and got everything set up for my liking, I was advised that there was a firmware update, and the new update requires you to recalibrate everything again from scratch. So pro-tip...skip calibration until you update firmware. I like this steering wheel. I REALLY like this steering wheel. My only true complaint is the setup instructions and hardware...or lack there of. There are setup instructions included, however they read like laundry instructions for a suit. Writing is not descriptive, no helpful images, and no list of included hardware. Some bolts, washers, and nuts are included, however which ones you use are a matter of trial and error and there is no listing of what parts are included with the kit. I ended up needing a few additional bolts and nuts to affix this setup to my simulation rig, however I got it done and now I am doing nothing but enjoying my experience with the Moza Racing R5 Racing Simulator and am looking at adding on with their other accessories. Don't let the price tag drive you away. This setup is work the leap!

This is a great racing simulator wheel and pedal bundle! While I used a Logitech G920 for several years, it wasn’t until lately that I became interested in MOZA. And right off the bat, the MOZA R5 bundle was exceptional. The bundle is easy to set up and comes with all attachment parts, bolts for a cockpit and a desk mount. I used the desk mount and it was way better than my old Logitech’s. The desk mount is very secure but does take time to put onto a thin desk and you really have to screw it tighter than you would think to prevent slip. The wheelbase, wheel face, paddles, pedals, baseplate, and desk mount are made from metal and feel solid. The wheel itself is comfortable and smooth yet still has grip. I love how the wheel has shift lights that can be customized for different cars and different games. The buttons on the wheel are also positioned in easy to reach places which is great for car adjustments midrace. The paddles feel solid and offer a nice tactile sound when depressed. The pedals feel amazing and might be my favorite part. They are incredibly light but are still solid and balanced, even on carpet. The pedals height and spacing can be adjusted and a clutch pedal can be bought separately. The pedals themselves offer just the right amount of resistance, in my opinion, so that the throttle is easy to be precise as well as the brake. The baseplate for the pedals is light but still offers a strong solid base that doesn't move around too easily on carpet. The connections are super easy to attach and are accessible, right on the back instead of underneath like the G920. The Force Feedback is absolutely phenomenal! It's easy to adjust using the MOZA PitHouse and the feedback, steering angle, damping, friction, and in-game effects can all be customized and then easily saved as a preset. I’ve tried this wheel out on 4 games; Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), Le Mans Ultimate (LMU), BeamNG.Drive, and EA World Rally Championship (EA WRC). On ACC, the wheel is amazing and has its own base preset in the PitHouse. The wheel is absolutely incredible and feels alive. I’ve found myself setting faster lap times because I have more precision with the pedals and feeling the grip. The buttons were amazing to adjust my ABS, TC, TC2, Brake Bias, and engine mapping in between turns easily. Just make sure to really tighten the desk clamps before a race. During one of my sessions I thought I tightened it well but the right one wasn’t screwed down enough and the wheelbase rotated and I had a hard time putting it back. If you think it's tight enough, keep going until you feel like you can't anymore. For LMU, I had a hard time setting up the wheel to make it feel right. I most likely set it up wrong for LMU because it felt like trying to balance an egg on a spoon. When I would turn the wheel a bit, I had to fight the wheel because the car felt like it was trying to turn into the wall. Maybe that's just the way LMU is but some more experimenting and setup might be needed. But the game where I felt the most out of the wheel was EA WRC. I instantly felt like I could feel each surface, like asphalt, gravel, sand, snow, and ice. The FFB was insane and the pedals allowed me to keep the car going 100 MPH through the bends. I could feel the car's weight transferring to one side and I could add more rotation in turns with the smooth brake and throttle. In fact, on my first run I beat my old record, which I had to sweat for, with ease. The fact that the wheel can be adjusted so easily is extremely useful. Overall, I highly recommend this Moza Racing simulator wheel and pedal bundle!
