I had my first one for close to 10 years and loved it. Over time, the coffee started to have an ashy taste and smell to it that I could not get rid of no matter how often or well I cleaned it. I assumed that there were just parts of the machine I could not get to in order to clean properly so I bought another one. The taste was still there so I bought a cheaper version with a glass carafe (though I prefer the insulated) and in an in-home blind taste test, both my wife and I both preferred the cheaper version. As I was boxing up this one for return, I found that the insulated carafe smelled ashy as well. And that was only after less than 10 uses. I prefer this machine overall to the cheaper version, but I cannot get over the odd taste and smell.

I purchased this coffee maker in order to maintain a hotter beverage now i have no more wasted coffee.

I like that I can't get burnt by the stainless steel carafe. The pouring could be faster. I measured 2 cups of water but somehow more than 2 cups came out. The unit must have stored water from the last use. Makes good coffee.

While rather large the coffee maker is easy to use. Carafe keeps coffee warm for a “second cup”

This is a replacement for an identical coffee maker I had to replace. The first one lasted over six years and I made coffee in it at least once a day. Definitely got my money's worth and didn't even consider buying a different model. Can't go wrong at this price point.
