Returned - Purposely purchased because of the side-view fill window which meant that I did not have to fill the carafe but use my sink spray hose to fill the water tank. For me and my kitchen's available space, the fill window was on the opposite side away from my water source and the way the top opens, it blocked my ability to use the spray hose. I also could not make a cup of coffee that I really liked. Without using the Strong Brew Selector, the coffee was too weak and with one press it was too bitter. Did like that the automatic shut-off stayed hot for 4 hours rather than 2 and that the carafe was machine washable on the top rack of my dishwasher.

    My Favorite Coffee Maker

I love Mr Coffee products. They've never let me down, and this one is no exception. It takes up very little room on my counter for a 12 cup maker. It's easy to set to brew in advance, and the buttons are large and easy to see. I really appreciated the inclusion of the reusable filter. It brews a 12 cup pot in just a few minutes, but if you can't wait, it does have the pause and serve feature. But size and features don't matter if it doesn't make great coffee, and this machine does. The Bold select button gives me a deeper, richer cup while using less coffee. I had high expectations for this machine and it met every one.

Have to keep an eye on it. Water builds up in the filter quicker than it goes in to the carafe. So if you program it, you will find coffee and grounds all over your counter.

Fancy coffee drinks are all the rage these days. This Mr. Coffee maker won't be whipping up frappes or cappuccinos but it's not intended to do so. This is your basic, no frills coffee pot that does one thing and one thing well, make a hot pot of coffee. And at that, it excels. In the box you obviously get the coffee maker and glass carafe. You also get a reusable coffee filter which I'm a big fan of. It minimizes waste and it's easy to clean. It's like any other coffee pot, you measure your grounds and put in the included reusable filter and add water. It's programmable which is great for those are in a rush in the morning or simple like waking up to the smell of coffee in the morning. And it's super easy to set up the programming feature. It's also nice that it turns off after 4 hours. So when you're in a rush out the door you don't have to worry about it stating on all day. It includes an auto pause feature, so you can pull the carafe out, and pour a cup, while it continues to brew the entire pot. It's main feature, however, is the strong brew option. Honestly, I couldn't really tell the difference (although I admit, I drink my coffee with almond milk and splenda) but that doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I guess it's nice to have, and maybe those who drink coffee black can tell, but that shouldn't sway you one way or the other. Either way, it makes a good cup of coffee. I've tried Costco coffee, Starbucks coffee and while I can taste the difference between the coffee I use, Mr. Coffee delivers a consistent product with no coffee grounds in the pot. I also like the size. Counter space in my house is a premium and I have to make room for a coffee making device. This Mr. Coffee machine is relatively small so it doesn't take up much space. And while it's made of plastic (except the carafe) I like the design. It looks classy enough to keep on your counter. I really recommend this for anyone that just needs a standard, go to coffee pot. This is perfect for students or those that just enjoy a normal cup of coffee. Not to mention the price. It's virtually a steal.

The new coffeemaker came out of box looking good. My husband declared the item good and took the box to burn.. but an important part was missing. The flow gadget in the brew basket was missing. I asked the manufacturer for a part. They don’t make their products with a warranty I’m very disappointed. If I had a box to return, I would have. Not happy and not a Mr Coffee buyer. Thank you for letting me rant..

Worked fine for a couple of months, then using same coffee, developed a smell and taste that made it undrinkable. Running ’vinegar’ thru it did help, but only for one brewing, then came back. Too late to return it so, Had to trash it. Guess u get what u pay for

    Roaches in coffee pot!

I would give this negative stars if i could. This was a gift for my mom. She set it up and made her first pop of coffee. As the water starts to boils, hundreds of tiny roaches start crawling out of the coffee maker! She quickly washes it out and even put it in the dishwasher. Guess what?! She has not been able to get rid of those roaches for months now! The coffee pot is long gone but the roaches got into everything. The dishwasher, her toaster, her sink! She tried everything to get rid of them. Now she is having to get an exterminator. Calked best buy... offered me a 10% refund! Mom had to pay $100s of dollars to get rid of roaches and i get $3 back for the inconvenience. Nice Best Buy.... real nice! I got her a better one from Amazon. Why is it better? No Roaches!!!

Very good basic coffee maker, with one snag

The best way to think of this coffee maker is as an enhanced version of every drip coffee maker you've ever used. That's a good thing. The programmable options work and are so intuitive, that even your technophobic elderly relatives can use this with no problems. Fill, insert basket, and turn on. You can set a timer to brew what you've prepared overnight; my cats only let me pull this off once, but the feature worked well. The timer is easier to set than even my alarm clock. There's a "strong brew" option, which works... but produces something that's not quite as good as simply using more grounds in the basket on the normal setting, or using a darker roast. It's not terrible, but with a dizzying array of roast varieties available in your average supermarket, it's kind of unnecessary. The appearance of the coffee maker is nice, too. Just enough "stainless steel" to be attractive, but not to stick out if most of your kitchen appliances are black. This model seems to shut off automatically. It has a four-hour operation window, so it won't shut off prematurely. You shouldn't drink coffee that's been sitting for more than four hours, anyway. The snag with this coffee maker is the heating plate. A few flecks have started to come off after only a few days' operation. I know from experience with the brand that these drip coffee makers last at least several years, even with signs of wear and tear, but I'm still somewhat surprised by how rapidly the heating plate is showing signs of use. This coffee maker is definitely worth the asking price, though.

If you want a regular coffee maker with a timer to have the coffee start when your up then this is a great machine. I did not find the strength to offer any better coffee. I do like the reusable filter which saves money. This machine is a little smaller than traditional coffee makers which saves a little space. Would be nice if it had a single cup measurement.

    Strong crisp coffee taste

Mr Coffee has an established reputation for good coffee makers. In our house we love our coffee and generally have used an other coffee maker that does individual servings. Unfortunately that proved to be costly and entertaining friend and family was also a problem and time consuming. Fortunately with the 12 cup programmable Mr Coffee it is so easy to use and we constantly get complements on the taste. Cleaning it is also very easy with the filter basket which is reusable just coming out easily to clean. We have not yet taken advantage of the set timer and have it brew feature and that’s mostly because we have the other coffee maker for that. Taste wise you don’t get the metallic taste when using this product versus some other coffee makers. Overall what you would expect a reliable simple to use coffee maker that seems to be better designed then the past to not take too much space on your counter.

Very sleek design, affordable, and efficient. Perfect for home use, or even use in a dorm. I love the programmable functions as well as the ability for strong brew. I do have an issue with condensation when you open the lid, it tends to trickle drown.
