Bought this coffeemaker to replace another Mr Coffee. Plugged it in, set the clock and forgot about it, until the next morning. Went to brew coffee, realized that the coffeemaker had been 'on' all night and would not turn off. Had to return/exchange it the next day.

Was a replacement for an inexpensive brewer. Made brown water. Could not taste the coffee no matter how strong I tried to make it. Returned and upgraded to Keurig - despite perceived high cost per cup, very happy with resulting flavor.

This Mr Coffee SKX23 model outperforms others

Mr Coffee SKX23 12-cup programmable delay start model. Be sure the model # matches exactly, as there are many others that end with "X23" I've had several brands over 30 years, and always go back to the 12-cup Mr. Coffee. Even at work, we opted for Mr Coffee just because they cost less and are more reliable, and the hot plate keeps the brew hot. Last year I purchased a Hamilton Beach per Consumer Reports ratings. It made good quick coffee, and maintained proper temp after brewing, but the water fill port was so narrow, it was difficult to pour in a carafe full of water without spilling it. The LCD display was so dim from all angles, that you couldn't see it. I switched back to Mr. Coffee, but bought a different model number, which was square (unlike this oval model) and had the LDC display and buttons at the top. This way the display should be easier to see and buttons don't get sticky with spilt coffee residue. Unfortunately, I found the display also difficult to read and the water inlet was too narrow, but it made good coffee, like all Mr. Coffee models, but this SKX23 still reigns over the others. It costs only $29-$34 so it is one of the cheapest, too. Comes with a 1 year warranty. I did have one in the past that would not heat water after only 6 months, but I returned it to Best Buy for a replacement. No problem getting it replaced in the store, unlike what some reviewer said they could not do, even though they buy tons of products at their local BB. The failure was a fluke, as I've owned 3 of these with no issues. Like all units, they usually last 3-5 years, not bad for 20 bucks. cons: only negative is this model is now the dark LCD display, where it used to be LED display, which s bright blue and easy to read day or night. The LCD displays cannot be seen at night as all. However, it does have a green LED light for the ON indicator. Also, this model and all models of all brands, has auto-shut off after 2 hours. It is a consumer safety regulation these days, so you can't get around it. But, coffee is really only quality drinkable for 1 hour at best. After that, it has lost its flavor and most of its caffeine.

This is a great coffeepot for the price. It's easy to use, reliable and consistent. The programmable feature is excellent when you need it. Make the first pour from a full pot a gentle one. If you just want a good cup of coffee without a lot of interfering extra features, this is a great product.

    Best Coffee maker ever!

After buying many coffee makers that broke including a couple very expensive ones, we purchased a Mr Coffee 12 cup series TF one. This was back in 2009. After all these years of making 2-3 pots of coffee a day, this little machine is still perking along great! In this day and age of poorly made appliances, to find one that actually is well made and not too expensive is a real joy.

    Thoroughly Adequate

For an all plastic exterior, it's a pretty solid build, and the carafe gives a good pour without getting messy. The timer works nicely and is very convenient for anyone who likes waking up to the smell of coffee. However, it's just your basic black display so it's hard to read from across the room (forget about it in the dark). I had a 4-cup model from Mr. Coffee previously and the display was green backlit for easy reading. Wish they had kept that design. Also, the spring valve on the bottom of the coffee basket drips a little when you pull the carafe out mid-cycle (Pause'n'Pour). Those are the only two drawbacks I've noticed in an otherwise good 12-cup, programmable coffeemaker.

I love this coffee maker. Set it up the night before and fresh coffee in the morning ready to go. Easy does it. Fits under the counter, I put felt tabs on the bottom, and it slides out easily to fill. Keep it near the sink so I can use the sprayer to fill. Perfect.

    Good value

I have avoided Mr. Coffee brewers ever since the days of flat-top carafes. To pour the last half of the pot, you needed a double-jointed wrist. Not any more! Easy to pour and the carafe doesn't drip, even when pouring quickly. The only drawback is that it drips when you remove the pot for an early cup of coffee. When you replace the carafe, it SOUNDS bad but it's not doing any damage, so it's no big deal. A full 12-cup pot takes about 10 minutes to brew, but that's only about 3 min. longer than my old coffee maker, so that too is no big deal. On the whole, I'm pleased with this coffee maker. Now if it will just last longer than three years, I'll be in pig heaven.

Makes great hot coffee, easy clean up. Wish it was a cone filter for easier cleaning, but the basket works fine.

    Replacement Coffee Maker

This was purchased on-sale to replace an existing coffee maker that was showing its age. It's your typical coffee maker with programmable features. However, I am quite happy with it. You can hide the cord, the cup where you put the ground coffee in sits sturdy and it's programmable. Other than that, for the price, you can't go wrong with this one.

I was looking for a quick replacement of my coffee maker. I saw the store flyer had this coffee maker on sale. I wanted just a basic, push the button coffee maker and this fit the bill. It also has the programmable feature as well, but with the sale price It beat the the low end models that were not on sale. Overall, I'm very pleased. It works great and makes great coffee and I didn't have to do a lot of shopping around.

    Good Programmable Coffee Maker

I do not like the fact that it does drip from water buildup (condensation) under the filter basket and under the lid where you put the basket and water. This causes a drip when you take out the pot to pour your coffee causing the sizzle you hear with cheaper models leaking. Also, when you lift the lid to change the filter, the built up water under the lid spills out the back a little. Overall, for the price this is a good product that does the job. I would give it a 4.5 if I could.
