As someone who`s been through all the coffee stages, it was finally time to just come back to the ease of use of a general coffee pot. This coffee pot checks all the boxes with what you would expect and results in a good cup of coffee. Firstly, the look is great as the modern silver and black fits into nearly every kitchen and it does have some heft to give the impression of a quality product. It has been some time since I`ve used a traditional coffee pot, but the inclusion of the water filter is a nice touch that gives the impression of a pure cup of coffee and the replacement filters do not appear to be expensive either. There are multiple features with this coffee pot, but the ones I found most valuable were Auto Pause, Brew Selector, and Brew Later features. The auto pause is nice as I can grab a cup before it finishes brewing, but if I am just looking for a small brew the small-batch setting is nice so that I am not having to make a full pot. The Brew Later feature is nice with the small-batch setting as I can set it to brew specifically so that it gets done right when I am about to walk out the door. Then finally the brew selector feature is nice because there are obviously those mornings where you need it to be a little bit stronger. Overall, it has been a while since returning to a traditional coffee pot, but this thing has all the bells and whistles with its various features and high quality look to it that I don`t mind setting out on my counter. I definitely find myself using this more lately than all my other fancy coffee contraptions that can be so much more time-consuming and result in something not much better than what this thing provides.

    Sturdy Coffee Maker

I've been using this coffee maker for a week now and really like it. It's a fairly compact design given the size of the pot, and I think it looks really good on the counter. I like that the buttons are big and easy to use, and the clock display is also nice and readable even from across the kitchen. There's a convenient water level gauge/window on the side so you know how much water you're putting in. It comes with a plastic mesh reusable filter which might be good enough for most people using slightly courser grinds than we use. With our coffee, we got a small amount of sediment (very fine texture) that settled in the bottom of the cups. This was fine with me, but my wife didn't like it. So now we use a paper filter and we're all happy. You can brew immediately or set it on a timer like most coffee makers. You can also set the "keep warm" time between 1 and 4 hours, in hour increments. When the pot is done brewing, it beeps a couple times and then the display under the clock says "keep warm" so you know it's done. The hot plate seems to keep it at a good temperature. We've had other coffee makers with the non-stick hot plate that started rusting before too long. Hopefully this one will hold up, and it still looks new after a week, but time will tell. One other possible concern for me is the steam from the pot while brewing goes up the face of the clock and buttons and water condenses there. Hopefully this won't cause a problem with the electronics down the road. I'm sure they must have known this would happen and sealed everything well. Bottom line is I'm very pleased with this coffee maker. When it's just two of us we can easily brew a half pot, but when we have visitors we can make use of the full 14-cup capacity. I hope to use it for many years to come!

I've owned a few Mr Coffee coffeemakers over the years, they're not the best or worst available, but they are dependable and make a decent cup of coffee. This one has a clock (so you can program it to brew if you're on a regular schedule), plus buttons so you can set it to brew stronger coffee if that's what you like. It comes with a reusable nylon coffee filter and water filter you can use to clean any impurities out of your tap water. You can adjust the length of time the warming plate stays on (from 1-4 hours), but there isn't an on/off switch for the warmer, which always annoys me. Once I brew the coffee, I typically turn off the warmer, so the coffee doesn't get a burnt flavor. When I need a second cup, I just turn the warmer on for a few minutes to reheat it. With this coffee maker, you have to turn off the brew cycle after making the coffee to turn off the warmer, then activate the brew cycle again to turn the warmer back on (since there's no more water in the maker, the brew cycle doesn't actually happen again). It would be easier to have an on/off switch for the warmer. I like the size of this coffee maker, it's almost square and doesn't take up much room on your counter. It's 8 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 14 inches tall. Since I've had other coffeemakers from Mr Coffee, I know that my usual amount of coffee and water will work to make coffee the way I like it. Each coffeemaker is slightly different and might need a slight adjustment, but in just a couple of days I've already gotten it the way I like it.

If you're counterspace is limited, this is a very good option if you like more than the standard 10-12 cup capacity coffee makers. The water filter isn't just a gimmick, it actually does make the coffee taste better. 2 different pots, made exactly the same way (Yeah, I'm the geek that weighs and measure in order to test) Depending on your water quality, you may replace the filter more often. If you don't like sediment, use a regular coffee filter. The included reusable filter works pretty good, but like any mesh screen, particles are bound to get through. If you're into extremely fie grids, definitely use a regular filter. The cup warmer is a nice feature, as well as being able to program how long the burner stays on. For those that jump out of bed and run to work, it's programmable so you can set everything up the night before and have a hot cup ready when you roll out of bed. In short, it makes good coffee.

Nice Coffee Maker With a Few Design Quirks

This is a really nice coffee maker with just a few design quirks. Overall, it is nice, and easy to use, once you get the hang of it. The buttons weren't entirely intuitive, but once again, once you figure them out once, you know perfectly well how to use it on a daily basis. One other small quirk I noticed was that the lid gets in the way slightly when trying to fill the pot with water. It's not a huge deal, you just need to open it a little wider than I'm used to to make room for the faucet to actually fill the pot. Once again, once you do it a few times, it just becomes habit. Just a bit different than other pots I've used. So overall, I am very happy with this coffee pot. It just took using it a few times to really figure out it's little quirks.

It works, it makes coffee and is fully functional and doesn't burn anything. It has one huge problem though. There are no existing replacement parts for this unit, including the glass carafe which will chip and break and cannot be replaced.

Great Coffee Maker But Not For Me

This coffee maker makes from 1 cup to 14 cups of coffee. I like that it comes with a reusable coffee filter (a big plus in my book) and a water filter. Since I recently moved to the city from the country where I had great well water, the water filter is a great thing to have to filter out all the chemicals from city water. You do have to replace the water filter monthly or less often if you don’t use it every day. I love that it does have this option. None of my previous coffee makers had this feature. The control panel is simple and easy to understand and very basic. There is a Brew Later, Brew Now, Keep Warm, Hour, Minute, 1-4 Cups and a Strong button on it if you like stronger coffee. The thing I don’t like about this coffee maker is that it is definitely not single cup coffee friendly. I would think that with a 1-4 Cups button you would have a selection of 1, 2, 3 cups and if you pushed that button it would only make 1, 2, 3 cups of coffee, even if the water tank was full. There is a 4 cup line on the side and for less cups of coffee bring out your measuring cup for the amount of water needed. If you are making under 4 cups of coffee, why even have that button on there? It does not stop unless you measure exactly the amount of water per cup that you want under 4 cups. If you don’t measure and you have a full tank of water, it will make as much coffee as there is water in the tank. It would also be nice if you could just put your coffee cup under the coffee filter where the coffee comes out, so that you wouldn’t have to clean the coffee pot for just one cup of coffee. This does have a learning curve to it, at least for me for smaller amounts of coffee. If you only make 1,2 or 3 cups of coffee in the morning, I don’t think this coffee maker is for you. It is definitely for someone who makes large batches of coffee. I guess, why buy a 14 cup coffee maker if you only want to make 1 – 3 cups of coffee in the morning and only occasionally make big batches. What I do absolutely LOVE about this coffee maker is that it has a very small footprint on you counter. It is smaller than most coffee makers I have had in the past and they were not 14 cup coffee makers. Because this coffee maker filter has a wider mesh than I am used to, I will have to start buying a more coarse type of coffee so that the reusable filter doesn’t leak out the very fine coffee flakes into your coffee that come through it. In the morning I make under 4 cups of coffee and only occasionally make bigger batches for company, so this coffee maker just doesn’t do it for me. I will continue my learning curve in hopes of changing my opinion of it. Whatever my outcome, it will still be great to bring out when I am having a lot of coffee drinkers over.

This Mr. Coffee 14 cup coffee maker does a great job of brewing a delicious cup of coffee. Whether you are brewing for a bunch of people or just want a few cups it can handle the job. Comes with all the standard features you'd see with any coffee maker. Auto shut-off, brew strength select etc. Of course, the coffee tastes great! We typically use fresh ground coffee and it has turned out excellent so far. Definitely no complaints with this coffee maker. Highly recommended!

Do not buy this. The heating element broke on me only six months in the ownership. We regularly change the filter and run the cleaning cycle. Very low value for the cost. You’re better off buying a $25 coffee pot.

14-Cup MAX Brew, Smooth Coffee Taste

The Mr. Coffee Max Brew made what I and others considered to be a much improved cup of coffee when compared with an earlier Mr. Coffee model that I used. Smooth is a word I would use to describe the coffee, the same beans I was using (Dunkin Original ground) gave an improved taste. The water filter also is worth installing and replacing regularly. There are all sorts of 'water additives' (intentionally or not) in the water supply, and the filter should help minimize the chance of ingesting same. Inside of the area where the water runs through the grinds and filter, there was something unexpected above, all I can say about it is that it is different and it may impact the coffee quality. The only thing I would add, be careful with the cleaning cycle and make sure everything is inserted as directed in manual, and ensure that not too much water is added. The coffee pot managed to make a small flood when I ran the initial cleaning without watching it, but I am certain it was something which I did incorrectly.

    A large capacity coffee maker

With three of use filling up large coffee mugs in the morning, it is great to finally have a large capacity coffee maker. To make it even better, this provides the ability to schedule it to brew in the morning so I have hot, fresh coffee waiting for me when I come downstairs. I use the strong setting because we enjoy a darker coffee flavor. I believe that might slow the drip down to allow for stronger saturation of the coffee. It turns out delicious and I recommend it if you use a darker roast. Finally, this has a great "keep warm" feature that haven't seen with other machines. It allows for incremental settings between 1 and 4 hours. Most shut off after two hours, so this is a thoughtful feature. The filter is reusable and works great unless you use a finely ground coffee mix. There is an included water filter as well, so the coffee turns out really good.

Mr. Coffee makes a great product that is reliable and inexpensive compared to many other brands. I would recommend Mr. Coffee brand coffee makers to anyone looking for a new machine. The large capacity carafe holds up to 14 cups but also has a setting to brew smaller amounts. My favorite feature is the automatic warmer shut-off after 4 hours. Other than my straightener, the coffee maker is always on my worry list in the morning in case I forgot to shut it off. There is also a programmable brewing feature to have fresh coffee made before you wake up! It obviously does require set up the night before but having fresh coffee in the morning without having to get up to make it is a great way to start the day!

It had been a long time since I used a “regular” coffee maker in my home but realized I needed one. Growing up I always thought of Mr. Coffee as being a great brand and this coffee maker didn’t disappoint. Easy to use with great features. I especially like the warming feature as it truly keeps the coffee nice and hot unlike some makers I’ve used in the past claimed but failed miserably at. The cleaning feature is also a nice touch.
