This grinder does not have a coarse enough setting for French Press and I have given it to a friend with a drip coffee pot. I had to buy another grinder.

Don't waste your time buying this, in addition to that Best Buy's wouldn't even return it they have a 15 day return policy. By the time I bought it (for a gift) gave it to them about 10days later (on her birthday) she didn't even get to use it till the 20th day after I purchased it.

Grinds well, alters taste of coffee

The Mr Coffee Bur Mill grinder greatly alters the flavor to an unpleasant taste (burnt) compared to others I have used recently. It does a reasonable job in grinding the coffee to a sugar consistency for espressos, but always has a powder residue for all settings.

Very disappointed in this grinder. Very noisy and could not grind beans as fine as need for my espresso machine. Found a different one with a burr grinder that I like much better without having to spend much more money.

Great Burr Mill Grinder for a Great Price

I recently started getting into "Artisan" Coffee and Pour-over coffee in particular. Which calls for your coffee to be of a certain grind consistency which you can't really get with pre-ground coffee. I bought this one in particular because my Mr. Coffee blade grinder wasn't cutting it for the quality and consistency I wanted in my coffee grounds (I essentially exchanged it or this one). Most MANUAL burr coffee grinders will run you the about the same price as this guy and the grinder's you'll see online and in most artisan coffee bars by the die hard coffee fiends are on the higher end ($100-200) which i wasn't about to pay. This grinder definitely does the trick and the ground quality is great! Also it's not much bigger than my old blade grinder on my counter. So if you want a decent burr mill grinder without dishing out a lot of money. This is definitely a top contender.

    Quit Working after 45 Days

This is a nice grinder that looks good in my kitchen but if it breaks, you don't have decent options for repair. I used it to grind beans for my daily pot of coffee, which it did beautifully. But it quit one day before I had even had it 45 days. It acts like a switch failure. That is outside Best Buy's return policy so they said I had to contact Mr. Coffee. I went to Mr. Coffee's website and it goes to a third-party website. They were very slow to respond. They gave me options for repair -- the closest was 300 miles away and I'd have to pay shipping. For a $35 appliance, I'm debating whether to spend money shipping it or throw it in the trash. In the meantime, I got my old blade coffee bean grinder out of the give-away box and am using it again.

I bought this grinder a few months ago and just used it for the first time today. It ground up one cup of coffee beans perfectly. Then it stopped working for a second grind. I followed all the instructions in the manual, and then called the Mr. Coffee 800 number. They said they could get me a discount on a new one. HA, HA, HA. No, thanks. Another bad piece of electronics. Don't buy it!

    Cheap Price, Cheap Quality

This is a wheel burr grinder, which is less efficient and less consistent than a conical burr grinder. I bought it as a budget option, and it lasted about 5 months before the switch broke and it would not stay on. The mill was clogged, so I cleaned it out and it still did not work. The hopper is a very cheap plastic that broke on me with very minor force. When you grind, the wheel burr plates are very inefficient and it kicks around the beans in the hopper and does a poor job at feeding the beans into the plates. The plates will heat up, and heat up the grounds, which adversely affects the flavor. The plates are also very loud, making this an extremely loud grinder. This is a poor grinder overall. Invest in a higher quality grinder like a Bodum or Capresso conical burr grinder. They're much quieter, slower speed, low/no heat, and much more reliable.
