Works Fine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used several grinders in the past, and the Mr. Coffee Grinder since Christmas 2011. Operation is quite simple and efficient.. There are a few bells and whistles that probably aren't necessary but I find that it works well if I set it on medium grind , maximum cups, and gently shake it a little to ensure all the beans are ground. I don't rely on the timing setting if I want a slightly finer grind but just keep it going for a few additional seconds for a finer coffee. I find other reviews that seem to see shaking as a negative as just plain silly as are the coments about cleaning and extracting all the coffee which remains beneath the blade or in the lid. An old toothbrush is very effective and extracting and cleaning both sections and takes seconds as does a quick rinse to thoroughly clean. This is a $20 grinder, which is very effective and easy to use.

Wake Up to Great Coffee!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was in college, I worked as a waitress in a coffee house where we were expected to grind the coffee beans, and I became so spoiled on fresh ground coffee that I've been grinding my own coffee ever since for almost 30 years. After having read two great reviews from my Best Buy reviewer colleagues, I went out and got this easy-to-use inexpensive little machine. I was completely overwhelmed with the easy way I can regulate the grind, from fine (espresso) to medium (regular) to coarse (French press). When I finished grinding my regular coffee, I was amazed with the uniformity of the ground coffee, and, after I had made it, my morning beverage was every bit as good as that I would expect to be served in the local coffee house! The price is easy on the budget, but I would consider the quality to be the utmost and fanciest. As a poet, I find waking up to a good cup of java necessary to get my words perking throughout the day, and, like a good rock lyric, coffee made from beans ground in this perfect little machine provides just the right daily wake-up call!

great little grinder
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had heard that once you start grinding your own coffee, you will wonder how you ever drank pre-ground coffee from a can. This is so true! I looked at expensive grinders, inexpensive grinders, burr grinders, blade grinders, etc. I decided to try out an inexpensive one to see if grinding your own coffee really does make a big difference. WOW! It really does. And for this grinder, it does a great job of grinding the coffee. The settings for coarse, medium, fine and the # of cups, I have found, does not really matter. Just stick in the beans and hold down the button until you get the grind you like. I will use this grinder until it does not work anymore and will buy another one just like it without having to spend hundreds of $ on a fancy machine. It is small and does not take up a lot of counter space either.

Smart and easy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most coffee grinders in this price range have a single button. Push it and it grinds, release it and it stops. You need to frequently check the grind to see if it's ready or needs another hit. This grinder takes the guesswork out of it. Select the amount of coffee in the hopper, select the grind you want and let it go. It stops when it's ready and the grind is right on the money. Consistent everytime, so your coffee comes out just as you like it. The column design takes up very little space on the counter but it does require an electrical outlet nearby as the cord is not that long. Black appliances look nicer in a kitchen. They don't stain or get dull like white ones.

Works perfect for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used this for a good month already and I do not have any complaints so far. Works perfectly for my family. I am a coffee drinker and use it every day. I love the freshly grounded coffee in the morning so this thing works. You can easily remove the container and blade so you can rinse it easily. Overall, I recommend this. Great product and the price is right.

works great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I get an even grind each time and have two of these - one for spices and one for coffee. They have both done very well. I have not really had a problem getting the grinds out but I have rapped the container on the side with the palm of my hand if any have stuck to the bottom. I don't have a problem with cleaning because I rinse and then use my bottle brush and detergent to clean it each time and it's sparkling clean. This is a really good product. I purchased one for a family member.

Works great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent little coffee grinder for the price. It does fine job, doesn't take up alot of space, and the cord is plenty long enough if you actually have the intelligence to pull it out from its base. I would recommend it to anybody looking to improve their coffee experience by grinding their own high quality beans.

does exactly what it is supposed to
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Will keep this short; great grinder. At $24.99 (picked up for $19.99 on sale) you can't go wrong with this thing. The settings are easily adjustable based on your brewing preferences. Everything clicks and slides like a much pricier unit and operates like one, too. The cord is wound into the base of the unit when you first take it out of the box, be sure to pull it out otherwise you're going to be scratching your head as to why they put such a miniscule cord on the thing.

Good grinder. Stated features are oversold though.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an inexpensive grinder that is super easy to clean, this is a great product. Since the chamber can be washed in the dishwasher with ease, you could potentially use this for coffee beans and other foods like flax seeds, spices, etc. That said, the grind settings for size and number of cups are essentially worthless. You have to hold the lid down to grind the beans, so your grind settings end up acting like a timer. You could simply remove your hand from the lid as well. The coarseness of the grind doesn't work at all due to this issue. Coarse ground beans will just be beans that spend less time grinding, so you will still get finely ground beans in the end product. The french press users out there might not like this. If that is your intent, you are better off with a burr grinder. As a basic grinder for this price it can't be beat, just don't expect the world at this price point.

Does what i need, reasonably priced.

Gets the job done
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have no complaints about this grinder. An office staff of 10 people uses it about every other day, and all have been able to work the grinder, nobody has broken it, and the quality of the grind has been consistent.

Works, but with some annoyances
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee grinder has some great features - removable bowl, auto shut-off, and the capability to select different grinds and quantity. It also has some features that look great on paper - a plastic piece when emptying the grinds, for example, that really doesn't mean anything (I'd rather empty it myself). The bowl is removable, but the fact that there is plastic around the outside of the bowl makes it near impossible to clean, even though it is dishwasher safe. There are plenty of bells and whistles that really aren't needed. For what it is, a grinder, it's good. I love the feature to select course grind, but the auto shutoff isn't always accurate - I'd rather eyeball it sometimes when I'm about to French press.

Has worked for me for years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a barista, I don't know technical terms. I know I need finely ground for drip coffee and coarse for cold brew. This grinder has settings for both and they work. I've had this product for years and it always grinds beans consistently.

Good not Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I do like this coffee grinder. The timer and grind options are great. The consistency of the grind could be better, hence the lower rating. The price was right and so far I am happy with it. I would recommend it to someone that does not want to spend more than 20.00 for a good coffee grinder.
