Honestly would go with a gaming desktop over this gaming laptop, battery is horrible, and for a laptop I’d choose a MacBook over this any day

This laptop only lasted through the return window before malfunctioning. It was used for light to moderate gaming, and it crashed, requiring a full factory reset. The return window is only 15 days. I ordered this on may second, I got it on may fifth or sixth, and it started having the issues may seventeenth. I don't know what the issue is, and tech support was awful. So even though its out of the return window I'm going to go try to get a return or exchange on my next day off because it's crazy for me to spend almost $900 on a laptop that didn't even last a month.

I have owned a handful of gaming laptops over the years, all at different price points. This laptop surprised me with the features and power for a reasonable price. The screen has solid colors and a 144hz refresh rate. The 16GB of DDR5 runs at 4800mhz, and the GPU, while a lower tier 50 series, seems to offer plenty of punch for casual laptop gaming with its 6GB of VRAM. Keyboard feel is solid while typing. The exterior design is attractive without being over the top with RGB and crazy graphics. The bottom of the laptop surprised me with how open it is with mesh-like cutouts for ventilation and cooling. I confirmed that the SSD inside this laptop is a standard size NVME, so I was able to swap it out with a 1TB NVME without any issues. The few games I tried on Steam hit 60fps pretty easily after messing with a few graphics settings. It should be able to handle lighter esports titles without much fuss, while still being able to play more modern games like Diablo IV, and even Call of Duty as long as you lower GPU intensive settings like shadows, model detail, etc.

Horrible laptop! DO NOT BUY!! Wish I read reviews before buying. Sent this laptop into MSI to repair twice and still have issues. They keep telling me to send it in since it has warranty. They sent it back to me everytime with same or new issues. Waste of money!!! Never again.

DO A CLEAN WINDOWS INSTALL BEFORE ANYTHING. Just a heads ups. With only 512GB you don't want to waste space with bloat, and there's a good bit. 10 different installations of Office for every major language, McAfee, and other random junk that need to be cleared out. Even after a clean install, MS likes to toss in its own bloat so you'll still be cleaning. But the amount of time saved uninstalling the 10 versions of MS Office will make it worthwhile. The bloat is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. First impression was that the Bravo reminds me of my first MSI gaming laptop 10-12 years ago with its plastic build. The quality is still great and I don't mind the shell. KB layout is great with responsive keys that have very little travel which I love (low profile key lover here). It's backlit, but no option that I could see to change the color. So if you like blue, you're good. Otherwise you're stuck with varying intensities of blue. I'd prefer red as it's a bit less of an eyesore when playing in the dark but still need backlighting. The screen is beautiful and lays back 180 degrees. The range of motion is great, but I don't know how useful 180 would be for me. I'd had preferred a 16:10 ratio but 16:9 is still useable. Viewing angles are good, but not an issue for me since I always look directly at the screen from the front, especially while gaming. I almost always keep my screens under or around 30% so I'm not sure how the screen would fare outside. Indoors it's perfect under a desk or bed lamp. Battery life under normal use is very impressive at my 30% lighting. I didn't do a full rundown, but Windows reported that I had around 10-12hrs of use under my conditions. Gaming won't fare the same, but I've never really used a gaming laptop without full power plugged in. I tested two games, both were kinda old but still fun. Warframe pretty much stayed at 144 fps. It's doesn't stress a system like new games, but still looks impressive with lots of action and tons of mobs coming at you under the right missions. Not a hiccup at all. The second I tested was Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor. No surprise on the Bravo chewing through it like it was nothing. The reason for the old games, like a lot of older gamers we collected more games than we can play. Once life slowed down with the kid moving to college I'm clearing out my old library and I'm trying to go through them as fast as I can so I can get to the more modern games, lol For the price, the MSI Bravo is a bargain. Other than a gimped 2nd NVME slot and the bloat on the small 512 it's hard to overlook what you can get.

The MSI Bravo 15 is a very capable, decent budget gaming laptop. It packs a respectable punch, with decent hardware for $1000. To start, it’s not the most premium unboxing experience. Very slender packaging and little going on besides the essentials. Visually, it’s a very gamer-y laptop which is something MSI absolutely loves to do with their product designs. Personally, I don’t care for this look, but I could see it appealing to some. The screen is a nice panel and has good viewing angles. Unfortunately, the hardware is most of the time uncapable of hitting the 144hz limit of the screen, but it’s nice to have. The keyboard was something I especially enjoyed, it’s very simplistic and not trying to do all that much but doing what it does well. Unfortunately, I couldn’t figure out how to change the RGB lighting on the keyboard (if it’s even possible), but I’ll address more issues I have with MSI’s software below. Performance-wise, it’s about what would be expected from these parts for gaming, and the fact they gave it 16GB of ram vs 8 is a nice inclusion. MSI software is bad. It’s not as bad as ASUS but still just terrible. They bake it into the system to try to force users onto it who might find it helpful while it hogs resources in the background. Fortunately, MSI software & Norton are the only bloatware this system is shipped with. The robust cooling system on this machine does keep the temperatures nicely in check, but it gets quite noisy when running at any sort of power. Further, the USB-C port is not a thunderbolt which is a bit lame. Overall, this is a pretty good gaming laptop with some flaws. At its price point, I would recommend it, but definitely shop around as this thing isn't anything particularly special.

The MSI-Bravo 15 Gaming Laptop looks and feels like a military laptop. It is rugged has some weight to it and over all very good resolution. I loved the fact that the 10 key number pad is built into the laptop just like a regular keyboard. The WASD keys are a different color and I feel like it gives it that extra advantage to know where your keys are (normally these are the most common keys used in gaming). When i say it feels like a military laptop it is a tank, may be too heavy to be moving around but at least you know it is a solid built laptop. The lighted keys can be adjusted using the function key as well as other options are available such as turning off the screen. Battery life is decent but i highly recommend having the charger handy and more if you are playing a game that pushes the laptop to its limits. Overall, very satisfied with this gaming laptop and it will make a great addition to your current gaming, or new gaming set up, just remember it is built like a tank and the weight says it all.
