    Great Budget Gaming Laptop

The MSI Bravo with the newest mid level Ryzen chip and Geforce graphics is an excellent entry into the mid level, portable gaming world. As I've come to expect from gaming laptops, they have a similar footprint to many of the ultrabooks on the market today, but to accommodate the graphics, memory, cooling, etc, they are THICK. This one manages to cram in all its thickness and still not tip the scales too badly at 5 lbs. The backlit keyboard and IPS are a minimum for entry into this class, and the Bravo does both fairly well. If you like subtle, this is not the gaming laptop for you. While the design isn't striking, it is busy. There are lots of carbon-fiber esque decorations and motifs, as well as patterns and decorations on the lit keys. I do like the different backlight on the WASD keys specifically. The IPS display is bright and consistently lit, with a speedy 144hz refresh rate. No auto brightness on this particular model, but if you're like me, I find myself turning that off anyway. Somewhat off putting is the choice in ports - with 3 USB A ports, and only one USB C port. The single USB C port isn't meant for charging, and the laptop comes with a separate charger with a barrel plug, which is another strike against it. Additionally the single USB C port is buried in a bezel, meaning not all your devices are likely to fit that port. Included ethernet and HDMI are on the plus side. The trackpad is smaller than I'm used to and can be finnicky if you're resting your palm in the "wrong" place for it. This put me off enough times that I consistently use an external bluetooth mouse. The integrated number pad is a plus, but also seems to force manufacturers to push the trackpad to the left, which isn't great for me as a right handed person. Hardware performance is TOP NOTCH, and that's probably really what you're looking at this laptop for. AMDs newest mid level Ryzen runs cool here, and the Geforce RTX 4050 is one of the best mid range, laptop based graphics engines on the market at the time of this writing. The usual bloatware and fan/speed/cooling control software is included by MSI, but nothing disappointing or spectacular. Windows is... windows. So you know what you're getting into there. Gaming performance matched my hardware observation, with games like Cyberpunk running in high FPS modes and looking gorgeous. No complaints there. Overall this is a mid range portable gaming laptop with somewhat uninspiring design, but plenty of hardware to back up it's claims. A few quirks, and there always seem to be a few in this range. The lack of USB C factory charging is borderline a dealbreaker for me. If that's not a problem for you, there are really no other barriers to entry here.

    A Solid Gaming Laptop

The MSI Bravo 15 is not just any gaming laptop—it's a powerhouse of performance that will blow you away. With top-notch specs that rival or even surpass most pre-built desktops out there, this laptop is the ultimate gaming companion. Picture this: a solid Ryzen 5 CPU and a GTX 4050 GPU that cater to your every gaming need, with some minor drawbacks (explained below). And let's not forget the icing on the cake—the incredible 144hz screen. It takes visuals to a whole new level, making every game feel buttery smooth. Believe me, I put this laptop to the test with a variety of games, and the results were mind-blowing. It ran flawlessly, as if you were playing on a high-end desktop. It's the perfect entry-level device to dive into the world of PC gaming. Now, let's talk about the price, because getting all these mind-blowing specs for less than $1,000 is an absolute steal. Even if you consider adding an external hard drive, an additional monitor, an external keyboard, and an external mouse, you'll still be way below the cost of an average pre-built desktop computer. Don't miss out on this gaming gem—the MSI Bravo 15 is worth every penny and then some. This laptop is seriously impressive, with only a few minor hiccups that can be easily sorted out if you're willing to spend a little extra dough. During my testing, I found two drawbacks worth mentioning: the RAM and the default storage space. Now, don't get me wrong, 16 GB of RAM is more than enough for 99% of folks out there. But if you're into some heavy gaming or multitasking, you might notice a slight lag. Thankfully, for the average user, it's perfectly fine. As for the storage space, fear not! You can easily solve that problem by snagging a cheap one or two terabyte external hard drive. Just plug it in, and voila! Problem solved. Trust me, this laptop is an absolute steal, especially considering the price.

Awesome laptop. Takes like 10seconds to turn on and has an adequate amount of space to get a lot of games. Also, the gaming nvidia exceeded expectations. if you’re a gamer/streamer. I highly recommend this laptop

I like it a lot! It’s fast and does what I need, only downside is that the battery doesn’t last that long from 100%. After about 40 minutes it was at 50%

Laptop could use more GPU power, decent CPU I would like to see this at around $650-700 otherwise in 2024 it's way too expensive.
