Customers are saying
Customers are delighted by the B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard's affordable price, ease of use, and solid performance. Many appreciate its user-friendly BIOS, extensive features including multiple USB ports and fan headers, and compatibility with various components. The inclusion of USB-C and RGB lighting are also frequently praised. While some users found the motherboard slightly large, the positive feedback significantly outweighs the negative.

Did not work for my build
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Motherboard seemed to be OK quality, but did not work whatsoever with my new build. Had everything set up two different times using two different power supply units and each time, there was absolutely no indication of power on the motherboard. Replaced the motherboard with an ASUS, used all the same components, and the machine booted instantly. Not an expert at computers, but the board was definitely compatible with the rest of my parts. Additionally, the socket for the CPU completely snapped when un-clamping and removing despite being very careful. Although the board itself was built as expected, the CPU socket and plugs seemed cheap and flimsy. Huge difference with how everything fit together/plugged in with the other motherboard I went with. Would highly recommend trying something else if possible

Great performance, clunky driver update
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This motherboard has performed very well. My only complaint is that the drivers/bios are a little difficult to update. I also had issues getting the onboard video card to work during install. Once the bios was updated, everything (including the onboard sound card) worked as expected.

Good motherboard, if it could hold gpu.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this motherboard for a new amd build. Waited about 2 days and when it came in I opened it up and noticed the clamp to hold the gpu was missing. Other than that it was pretty cool.

What a Nightmare!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a tech or smart by any means, I built my first PC in March with very little to no experience (Youtube helped) and reading the user manual carefully and It was a success! I used an Asrock board and it was time to upgrade to a bigger board as Mine was a little smaller. Here I go checking reviews for this board (Tomahawk Max 450) and it got so much praise so of course I order it when it came in stock! Waited about a week to receive it via UPS, Took apart my old rig and install this immaculate board and couldn't wait to see its magic only to get it to boot but then fail after installing windows 10 that I also purchased from Best Buy and then the board bricked and gave me the CPU error, which I found out is a very common issue with this board. I troubleshoot for hours with the help of my brother who does work in IT, even had them physically come take a look to confirm that my board was DOA and it had to be either RMA or replaced. I instead ordered an Asus 570 board (hope with no issues) and will be returning this HORRIBLE board back. MSI wants me to do all these troubleshooting tasks and I do not have time to play back and forth messages and calls for a crap product. They should be sued for the poor product they continue to sell as this is not an uncommon issue! I'm NOT getting a usb stick to reupload into BIOS via the flash bios button! NO excuse for me having to do that and now I have to check if this crap board ruined my CPU so I bought another CPU chip just in case it did! AWESOME JOB MSI!!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Solid b450 board.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid motherboard that paired well with my r5 3600. No real complaints here except for the lacking of rgb headers.

Don't turn it off if it's on!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works fine, if you don't shut off your pc. Shut it off & maybe it'll boot up/post again. Who knows! Might get a cpu LED. Might get a vram LED. Doesn't matter! Fixing those won't get you anywhere. I spent many sleepless nights trying to troubleshoot it. You can reset the cmos and it might go to bios so you can change settings there, then if you save settings & reboot, it's a coin-toss if it'll boot/post. Absolute nightmare of a board! Apparently these were known to have boot/post issues! Currently waiting on MSI approval to RMA it.

Stripped backing plate screw
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I'm a 6'2" 140 lb weakling. Ngl. Miraculously, I managed to strip a single screw out of the backing plate when installing the CPU cooler. I ask you...how? I wasn't even trying to crank on it, I was just trying to get it snug with the other 3. Not tight, just *snug* I know it is aligned properly, and the metal shavings attached to the fastener confirm it, the threads are stripped. Brand new out of the box and like a hot knife through butter, it wouldn't snug up, and just let go.
