Was getting a middle of the road Ryzen 5 3600. He doesn't game much but does homework and art on the computer. I got this because he didn't need a top of the line x570 MB but I didn't want to get a low end one in case he does get into gaming. This doesn't disappoint. It is third gen Ryzen compatible out of the box. It has great overclocking features if he needs it. His G Skill 3600 MHz ram loaded perfect after inputting XMP profile in bios. Overall runs great.
