Customers are saying

Customers regard the GAMING X NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6GB GDDR6 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card favorably, praising its strong performance, especially for 1080p gaming, and its good price point. Many appreciate the ease of installation and the effective cooling system, which keeps noise levels relatively low. While some users noted occasional fan noise under heavy load, the positive feedback on performance, value, and user-friendliness outweighs this concern. The RGB lighting is also a frequently cited positive feature.

    A nice budget card

I bought this card along with a couple of 4K monitors. My old GTX 660 card just wasn't up to driving the new monitors so it was a necessary add-on to the order. My needs are productivity-based - I'm not a gamer - so having all the latest bells and whistles isn't important to me - a decent GTX card works fine for me whereas an RTX card would be overkill. I've been running this a little under two months now and haven't had any problems. I'm driving a pair of 4K IPS panels at 2840x2160, 60 Hz., 32-bit RGB, 10 bpc, over Display Port. The card took a mild but rather automatic overclocking using MSI's Afterburner software. I'm sure I could pull more out of it if I try - but why strain it? Installation was a snap. Swap the cards, boot up, install a new driver, and pretty much that was that. I had a minor gotcha, however. Device Manager (I'm on Windows 10) reported a new USB Type C controller that was missing its driver. A look at the vendor ID in Properties revealed it to be an NVIDIA device. Yet, the product specs didn't mention USB Type C at all! I raised a ticket with MSI and they answered within hours, making a vague suggestion about reloading motherboard chipset INF files... I discovered that mine were, indeed, a bit out of date but this didn't do anything for the problem. What worked was a *clean* driver install, obtained from NVIDIA, and including the "USBC Driver" in the driver package. (I always recommend steering clear of the included GeForce Experience, though. Reasons.) The clean driver re-load fixed the issue completely. The only explanation I've puzzled out is that the NVIDIA hardware that this card's based on includes the USB Type C controller - used primarily to drive headsets and such but useful for other stuff as well - but MSI chose not to wire the hardware port. Parts count? I don't need the port so it doesn't matter to me, but I don't care for errors showing up in Device Manager either. The verdict? This is a nice budget card, performs well, runs cool and quiet, and does what I need it to do. I'd buy it again. That said, it was annoying to hunt down that Type C port thing and MSI could have been more up front about it. I can't have been the first to bring it up. Oh, I forgot one super-minor thing. Like so many other things these days, the card has lighting. Okay, I get it, it's ll about appearance. By default it pulsates and shifts though its gamut of colors. It'd prefer a solid color or just turn it off. Turns out there's MSI software for that: Dragon Center. It's a couple hundred MB and includes things besides lighting control. Like and SDK. And a LAN Manager. and something called Game Highlights - no idea what that does. So I adjust the color, expecting it to stick. Next startup I find it doesn't stick. Turns out that Dragon Center has to run. No thanks, I'll stick with the color cycle. Maybe next time I'm in the case I'll put tape over it.

Great card for 1080p gaming and im even streaming COD warzone with no problem in fps and temp is nice and cool. The one inconvenience I have with this card is there is no dvi port. I had to get a dvi/display port adapter to take advantage of my 144hz monitor. Kinda annoying, with that said I didn't hold this against the card for rating. Just a heads up if you buy it.

No reason to buy a 1660ti when this has faster memory because it only performs a few fps shorter of a 1660ti but this factory overclocked version narrows the gap even more and if you overclock it farther it matches the 1660ti. The rgb is a nice feature along with the cooler.

I bought this card primarily to play games on my PC. I am finding the performance to be excellent in several games that i've played, at 2560x1440 resolution, and the frame rate has been solid at or above 60 fps for the games im playing. Super easy install and I like that it has multiple display port + an HDMI out.

Excellent gpu! I was lucky to have bought it when it was in stock last month at msrp. Been playing Crysis 2 and 3, battlefield 4, need for speed heat, and metro exodus. This gpu can handle all those games in ultra settings at 1440p, with AA turn off or even the lowest AA setting it can still handle it. I don't usually turn everything max settings just to get that 50fps - 60fps. If you want to max out all settings, then expect around 30 - 40 fps at 1440p. At 1080p max settings you would probably get around 55+ fps. I'll be using this gpu for the next couple of months until the new gen or next gen gpu are back in stock. I'm so glad that Best Buy was able to have this gpu in stock, and everything was sealed brand new. Overall, this gpu is excellent, it is virtually silent with awesome cooling fans. I tried maxing out all settings at 1440p and it is dead silent at temps around 59 to 60 degrees Celsius. MSI did a great job with this card!

Immaculate packaging by MSI and just an overall great card, I’ve always heard they’re a good company but this was my first product of theirs and I was definitely not disappointed. The Installation process was easy, and I have yet to hit a single problem with the card itself. That being said, for whatever reason I cannot seem to register the product for a warranty, it always tells me it can’t find that model. Not a huge deal because like I said previously I haven’t had any problems with the card but it would be comforting to know I had a warranty on it through the manufacturer, so it was a little disappointing that I couldn’t do so. Otherwise no problems and I would recommend this card to anyone looking to upgrade from older parts or even a first time PC builder like me :)

A solid card that still hold up

An excellent card that still hold up to this day. the fans are quite and shut off when there's no heavy load like gaming. Works extremely well with modern games like Apex and Call of Duty, Its only 6gbs though so expect to make some sacrifices in the graphics area unless you overclock it. Overclocking is a mix bag however, so proceed to your own risk. The GeForce experience actually helps you optimize selected games in your library, so be sure to download and check that out. The RBG is a nice addition but its barley noticeable unless you position it upright. Overall, i highly recommend this card if you're in a budget. As someone who upgraded from a GTX 1050, its a massive boost.

So much awesome is contained in this not too big card. I am very impressed with the performance of everything I've played. This card can do just about max 1080p in anything recent and prior. 1440p 60+ is def an option as well at mostly high settings which is fantastic. My CPU is also running a Ryzen 7 3700X, 16gb of 3200 Corsair ram for anyone wondering.

I recently purchased this card to upgrade from my 750ti. The performance jump is amazing and much needed. I am now up over 100FPS on any game I have tried on 1080p and high settings. Running with a Ryzen 7 2700. The RGB syncs well with my MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard and AMD Wraith Prism Cooler. It is nice looking but not over the top. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new GPU around the $250-$300 range.

The graphics card is perfect for someone who is trying to start gaming until they can afford to purchase a decent card. I'd say the card was definitely worth the price. I used the card to stream on YouTube and Twitch. The card was purchased during a time when card where hard to come across totally worth it.

Installation of this GPU was very easy, had no problems installing whatsoever. After putting this in my PC I can run most modern games on medium to ultra settings (in 1080p resolution) based on how graphically intensive the game is. So far I have tested this GPU with games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Valorant, Cyberpunk 2077, Yakuza Kiwami etc. They have all run well with decent FPS.

All I could get during the "GPU CRISIS" but it does 1080p 120hz no problem paired with a i7-7700 and 16g ram. And it stays cool too, my temps have not gone over 50C. RGB is controllable with MSI dragon center. You will need one 8 pin pcie power cable off the power supply as well.

Really good video board at a rare affordable price. My old board overheated all the time and crashed my computer when playing graphics-intensive games. I did not want to spend a fortune on a newer model so I chose this one. MSI is a top manufacturer and Nvidia defaulted to Ultra for many of my graphic settings. Works great after about a month of heavy use.

I'm not a hardcore gamer but am a long time Microsoft flight simulator user and I wanted to get the 2020 version and my old 1050 card would not do the trick so I picked up this 1660 Super. I can run the sim on Ultra settings without the hint of stutter. Everything runs nice and smooth. I do have a fairly high end system but I think this card makes a big difference!
