Since this laptop comes with MaxP version of 2070 Super, the GPU performance is way above the many other laptops. Yes, this is little pricier than many competitive laptops but MSI is using high-end powerful CPU and powerful GPU with fast SSD. Screen is very good. This laptop heats during intense gaming but doesn't throttle much, thanks to good cooling. If you can afford, get this laptop. The configuration is very good and you don't need to upgrade anything in this laptop. Maybe some re-pasting from time to time is required but that is all!

Just loved this laptop. Been waiting for such a long time to get a good powerful gaming laptop and I'm so happy that I found this. Playing heavy games on this is so smooth. No issues with the laptop performance but there are a few drawbacks. Battery life not the best and the MSI dragon center needs serious updates so that the RBG lighting modes work well. I love the front and keyboard RBG lighting. Overall very happy with this purchase especially after the black friday discount this purchase was worth it! Thanks Best Buy :)

Laptop has great specs. Games run great on ultra settings. The 240hz display is buttery smooth. It also runs Photoshop and Premier prefectly.

This is a great laptop for gaming, graphics programs and creating videos. Very powerful and it also was a great price.

Would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a high tier gaming machine to run any game at a high lvl and experience a delight in gameplay

This has to be the best laptop in its price range. The video card, SSD, 240Mhz screen, and the awesome design is just, phenomenal.

This laptop looks cool, is fast for gaming, the fans are powerful, the graphics are insane and with the 240hz screen everything looks great.

Just upgraded from an Alienware 17R4. Wow this laptop puts it to shame. This is an amazing laptop and checked everything on my checklist.

I knew that this would be a great laptop from the specs alone. However, when I noticed that the front of the laptop has cool RGB lights and the outlet layout was really convenient, I knew this was perfect. After using it and playing different types of games, this thing was a beast. The only problem I had was the original model I was given because the "I" key didn't work. Other than that, this was perfect for the price.

The machine is very powerful and it's great for running multiple virtual machines and GPU intensive tasks. Very pleased with purchase.

This laptop is a beast, the lighting bar is a cool addition but the unit I purchased wouldn't charge. I know the MSI software has the ability to control how much of a charge the battery gets, but I had it set to mobility & should have got to 100%. My unit wouldn't charge at all, the battery % would sit at whatever % I plugged it in at. Very odd, but I returned it. The only time I saw the battery level charge was doing the battery calibration option. I wish it would have worked because I enjoyed the machine while I had it.

Awesome laptop. I'm returning to get a cheaper laptop with a 3070 max Q, but if that weren't an option I'd keep this one.

Beast of a laptop. great performance, better cooling, love the RGB lights. Only issue I have is MSI should add support for Linux.

No complaints. Runs every game with ease and haven’t had any issues yet. Overall, seems very Weill built and durable.

tldr. 3 star at full price. 4 star for its value at black friday price. it's satisfying yet has some miscellaneous cons that can bug some people. being MSI, i didnt expect the best feeling for build quality. but compared to the slim form factor version, ge66 stealth, the track pad, keyboard, and general feel are subpar. i dont know why they couldnt use the same track pad and keyboard. no thunderbolt can be an inconvenience but i never use thunderbolt. proprietary power port seems like somethings off or loose. ethernet port too. also ethernet port doesnt work with at&t modem 5826? model. got the modem switched to bgw210 and now it works. other than that, good value for the black friday price i paid of 1700. i am an asus fan and wish they would have a similar priced item with similar specs as this msi. i swapped this from initially purchasing the asus rog GU502L (also was on black friday ad). i liked the feel and conveniences it provided albeit the lower specs but the liquid metal worked too well or the laptop has problems because it was hot to the touch. this msi is warm at best with both laptops having maximum fan speed on. the msi can get hot without max fan but the cpu and gpu temps were lower than the previously mentioned asus at its repsective clocked speed and fan speed. 1 month of use and no problems. i wish it had a slightly bit more oomph but satisfied to buy something with these specs for well under $2000. appearances is a funny topic. when seen from the outside or folded position, the thing looks like a transformer decepticon and "cool" for those who find it appealing. but it is still overboard (contrary to msi's belief that it was "toned down" from previous model) and may be embarassing in a non-gaming environment. seen from the inside and open view, it's just plain black and a good black if you can maintain fingerprints and turn off all the rgb lights. still dont know why rgb is a pc gamer thing but the software is pretty easy to use to turn off. the keyboard is not a standard US keyboard and has an alt gr button. left control key is unecessarily huge while the fn (function) key is stupid small and is on the right side while most laptops have it on the left. theres an additional backslash key next to it as well. dont know why i need 2 back slash keys and have the extra one below the forward slash while shrinking the fn key but..... msi is all i can say. the power button is in the top right corner within the keyboard layout as in it can be easily mistaken for another keyboard key as delete key and home key are adjacent to it and backspace key diagonally adjacent. again msi is crap to the max and bang for the buck so... make your choice accordingly.
