I was on the lookout for a gaming laptop and amongst others, I found this little powerhouse. The specs looked good, 6C/12T CPU, mid-range discreet GPU and a screen with a high refresh rate.
Now understand that to me, this is a "project PC". Meaning that corners were cut on some components which obviously tank the performance of this baby out of the box, but allow it to be sold at low price. If you want to turn this bad boy into a solid gaming laptop, you'll have to get your metaphorical hands a little dirty.
- RAM is only 8gigs, replaced with 16gb Corsair Vengeance (free as I had that laying around)
- A Nvme SSD with at least 1TB (79$)
- A cooling pad (Cooler Master 16cm slim, about 20$)
Even after these upgrades (which can happen over a longer period of time if you don't have the cash), you don't even scratch the MSRP of this thing, and yet turn it into a powerhouse.
The GF65 isn't without its flaws. The cooling is so-so and it gets insane hot under heavy load. The screen is good but not the best around, it does what it's supposed to though. The keyboard feels "mushy" to me, but on the other hand, I'm used to mechanical keys.
My conclusion would be that this is one of the best, low-cost gaming laptop you can level up by changing some components over time for less than the MSRP. If you can grab it for 799$, get it.

really nice gaming laptop! but it ofc missing some ram and some more storage on it. just 500gb is not enough like 8ram is not enough for RTX3060. recommend 100% for this price. i played 800$ plus tax 860$.

If you are tight on budget, this is a great choice and the reason why I say this is because it excels in every regard but very minimal downsides. Those minimal downsides are high temperatures which can be remedied by having a laptop cooler. I am able to play games like Valorant on High settings no problem, Genshin Impact on High, KOFXV on High, Final Fantasy XIV on High all the same, etc. Another downside is probably slower speed while multitasking but that's because of the CPU it has however it wasn't very detrimental to my personal enjoyment. I could still listen to music or have a video in the background while playing video games. I recommend it for playing videos or all kinds of media.

Absolutely love it. I bought it to play Diablo 2 resurrected. Plays the game on its highest settings flawlessly. Tends to get a bit warm but it is definitely pulling some power so I expected this.

For the price at the time (800) on sale, it was well worth it. It does need upgrades like memory and SSD for space, but other than that, was worth the money for an above entry gaming laptop.

Summary: high performance, need RAM upgrade and laptop cooler, recommend using separate keyboard for gaming at home
Pros: High FPS (before RAM upgrade within 120-150 in both league of legend and valorant) and Pubg (60-80 fps on low setting), fast speed, smooth monitor, the best budget gaming laptop
Cons: definitely need RAM upgrade to 2x8 so I ordered one, easily leaves a mark on the laptop surface, gets really hot so definitely need laptop cooler

Great starter laptop. Needs a few upgrades to make it a little faster. After I switched my 8GB ram to 16GB it’s running much faster. The battery doesn’t run but maybe an hour or so while gaming.

Got it for a deal. $850. Definitely a steal. 10500H + rtx 3060. The laptop shell is and feels cheap. Outside feels cheap but inside is what you payed for. I upgraded and added a crucial notebook 8gb 3200htz for 16gb of ram. Also added a secondary Samsung 980 pcie 1tb for all my games. No issues thus far. If you want windows 11 without the "no volume" bug, checked all over online and nothing worked to fix. Reccomending everyone to reinstall a fresh copy of windows 10 (with usb) then update everything with the windows update, driver booster, and GeForce experience. Once all that's done install windows 11 (USB). There should be no issues with sound after that.

Does what it needs to do. Plays most games pretty well. Thin laptop. Definitely recommend a cooling pad for long-term gaming sessions. Overall build quality is great.

Don't get this. It had awful coil whine, it felt cheap, it was slow and it shouldn't have been... There are better options out there. MSI laptops are notorious for the hinges where they eventually break and you are out of luck... I can go on but I'll leave it at that, just don't buy this or MSI laptops.

I got it for 799 plus tax. For that price it is a great entry level gaming laptop. It gets ridiculously hot after a few minutes in moderately demanding games. The battery life also sucks so I wouldn't recommend it if you don't/won't have access to a charging location. I would recommend it if you need a budget gaming laptop. Be sure to get a cooling laptop pad/mat or look up potential modifications to cutting the frame (after warranty expires).

Hardware is solid with it handling CPU intensive games no problem, however it is very power hungry and even after trimming the battery will only last around an hour on a charge. The ergonomics could also be a little better as the case immediately next to the keys does get a little too hot for comfort even when well ventilated. If you're willing to overlook those two things solid laptop at Black Friday pricing.

One of the best gaming laptops out there. Laptop seamlessly runs AAA games at high frames. Even with 8gb of ram this thing is a beast. Best laptop I’ve purchased so far.

The computer works as advertised. Assuming it holds up, I would recommend it.
I bought it solely as a gaming laptop and it delivers in that area. But its battery life is pathetic and can be relatively slow when surfing the web. Not necessary features for my purposes, but if you have no interest in gaming don't bother.

I love this laptop. As someone who has never owned a pc or gaming laptop I am very delighted by this laptop. I bought it for my 16th birthday predominately for VR usage with my quest 2, and it more than delivers. It runs pretty much any game smoothly with great graphics. I do recommend getting a cooling pad and keeping it plugged in but those are my only two suggestions
