Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the performance, keyboard, design, and lightweight nature of the GS Series Stealth 15.6" Gaming Laptop. Many appreciate the size and the high refresh rate screen, although some find the battery life average. However, heat and fan noise are frequently cited as drawbacks, along with the sound quality of the speakers. The storage capacity is also mentioned as a potential limitation for some users.

    Annoying Whistle/Squeal

I wanted to love this computer. I got it so I could play Sims 3 because my Macbook Pro wasn't handling it as well as I would have liked. But the first time I started to play, the fans kicked on at full speed (which I expected) with a loud squeal/whistle noise. It was annoying, to say the least. When my Macbook randomly started doing that, I took it in and had it repaired. Convinced I had a lemon, I returned to Best Buy to exchange it. But the second computer did the same. Loud, high pitched squeal whenever the fans turned on at full speed. Nope. This computer is far too expensive to be so annoying. I'll be finding something else.

    Great Portable Gaming Laptop

After looking through a bunch of different options in terms of portable gaming laptops, I decided to go with the MSI and have not been disappointed. It's light weight and easy to carry around in a backpack and can still play the latest games on the highest settings. Additionally, a nice feature is that it doesn't look like a gaming laptop so if you are using it in an office environment it will fit right in. The only recommendation I would have is that you get a cooling mat for when you are hanging out at home and playing games on it. The thing gets hot, but it's expected with a slim design gaming laptop with this much power. I would definitely recommend it.

The laptop came with a creaking left side. Also fans are loud and it would heat up as a stove just during plain windows reset.

I bought this computer for 3d modeling and rendering. If you put this computer into any mode other than eco mode, it will melt your legs, Great computer when it comes to speed though! Very powerful!

Seemed like a great deal but was disappointment with the quality and functionality. It looks premium but doesn't feel premium. Performance is better on the ROG I got instead.

Ive had this laptop for a little over a month. When I open it and turned it on, the screen already looked messed up (like if you were to press the screen hard) & my backlight went out. My keyboard lights stopped working except for the FN keys. As wel as my screen itself was stuck on an orangeish dim with brightness all the way up.

Great laptop but it runs hot

Really great laptop. Rrealtively light, pretty decent screen, great specs, dual ram, great keyboard and massive trackpad. My only issue is really the cooling, this thing overheats even with underclocking, repasting, maximum fan speed. It just runs hot like the sun, constantly around 90 to 95C under heavy loads.

    Decent laptop with infuriating trackpad

The trackpad is too wide, your right palm will be resting on the trackpad while typing and constantly misfire the trackpad during typing, and this is almost impossible to fix with software. It is infuriating, I have no idea why they would think it's a good idea to have a trackpad like this

I wish I had returned this during Best Buy's abysmal return period. I have a two external monitor setup that I require for both work and play. I use a USB laptop docking station to connect them, but this piece of crap video card doesn't work with it. Sometimes the external monitors will identify as 2 and 3, other times, 2 and 2. There's no rhyme or reason. I updated the drivers and got it working until the laptop went to sleep, now it's back to both monitors acting as one. I've used this setup with four other machines and never had a problem. As if I needed another reason to hate work.

2 Years Later Motherboard is obsolete

Purchased this guy back in December of 2019 everything overall has been great with this laptop but sadly a few weeks back my laptop stopped working and wouldn't turn on. Sent it into MSI for an out of warranty repair and the quote for a new motherboard is close to 1000$. Needless to say I am very sad now that this laptop didn't last me very long. the 1660TI is decent but you are limited to play on medium to low settings with current games now a days.
