Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the performance, keyboard, design, and lightweight nature of the GS Series Stealth 15.6" Gaming Laptop. Many appreciate the size and the high refresh rate screen, although some find the battery life average. However, heat and fan noise are frequently cited as drawbacks, along with the sound quality of the speakers. The storage capacity is also mentioned as a potential limitation for some users.

Has the gaming power of a desktop but is the 1/2 the size of other gaming laptops. If you're looking for a on the go gaming laptop for work travel or other reasons I'm not sure how it gets any better.

First Gaming Laptop Ive Owned! Love Everybit of it

The laptop I purchased was the MSI GS65 Stealth-006 15.6" 144Hz Ultra Thin and Light Gaming Laptop, Intel Core i7-8750H, NVIDIA RTX 2060, 16GB DDR4, 512GB Nvme SSD, Win10. This is the first gaming laptop I have ever owned. So far I have loved every bit of it! It is easy to use and it runs games very well. I was in search for a laptop that was a good size for both homework and bringing into class. As well as running games to play with my friends during my free time. This has been the perfect purchase for just that. Several of my favorite functions include the crisp key board functionality and light settings it has.

    Weird battery management

    Posted .

The laptop is working well so far. Everything came as expected and the build quality is sturdy. Moving from a 60hz panel to a 144hz panel is amazing. It is thin and portable. The only complaints that I have are that the keyboard has short keystrokes, and most of all the battery management is a little odd. When I say that the battery management is odd I mean that the battery does not start charging until it is at least bellow 90 percent. The laptop battery management is fairly aggressive, but it is a useful feature that prevents repetitive charge cycles from damaging the battery and ruining your battery life.

    Great multi purpose laptop

Only 3 days with the laptop but have zero complaints. Is powerful enough to handle my gaming needs and multi tasking is no problem. Biggest positive for me is that it is very quiet and has solid battery life if you choose the balanced option.

I am a college student and purchased this for college and a little gaming on the side. The laptop is light enough to bring around campus and the keyboard colors are pretty cool. Happy with it so far!

We needed a laptop that could support all of the following, which had us looking at mobile workstations and gaming laptops: * 3D CAD * multiple simultaneous virtual machines * physics-based game development (Blender, Unity) * wide viewing angle screen (for collaboration) * only SSD storage * expandable RAM & storage * an easy way to turn off the GPU when not needed The GS-65 with 16GB/0.5TB fit the bill, and the budget once on sale. So did several others, so why did we buy this? + larger battery rather than 2.5" drive bay + **really** nice screen (being used to IPS screens in business machines) + cooler (temperature) keyboard/hand area than many others when under load + (assuming) anodized finish rather than painted (like P65) for a more durable finish + dual M.2 storage slots for easier expandability + web camera at the top of the screen (where it belongs) + I can safely grab the laptop with one hand where the screen meets the base (which I am in the habit of doing with other machines). + It doesn't have a raised emblem (as we regularly stack our laptops) + It has ThunderBolt 3 (for future connectivity) and HDMI (for connecting current TVs) + it doesn't weigh 6+ lbs. What impressions do we have now that we have used it for a bit? + The screen is better than we expected - The laptop is warmer than we assumed (first gaming laptop) - The keyboard feels distinctly different than the ThinkPads (13-14") and HP machines (14-15") that we have used over the years. I find it hard to feel the gaps between keys (to adjust to the size) because the unpressed key height is so close to the frame between keys. - The touchpad seems very sensitive. (I have already read about fixes for this on different forums. Knowing what I know now, would I buy it again? I think so, because I haven't liked Dell keyboards and don't want a machine that screams "gaming". Recommendation: The keyboard is quite different than I expected. Give it a good, long try before you make your decision.

The packaging of the laptop was nothing less that perfect. MSI takes real good care of their products and made taking the laptop out a breeze. The overall build of the computer is great. Very easy to use menu for internal components of the PC. This is my first MSI laptop and so far it beats any of my past laptops I used to own. Super fast gaming computer.

This laptop has been a joy since I took it out of the box! I had initially purchased a Dell, but after 6 days I exchanged it for for this baby and I'm so glad I did! It's really fast and really quiet. I ran WoW for the first time in 4 years and had no issues. The fan ran steadily during the game, but it wasn't loud. I love that you can customize the backlit keyboard. I think this is a very good laptop for under $2000.

I needed a gaming laptop that was within my budget and this went beyond expectations. The specs are equal to or even better than other laptops I've seen that cost almost double the price. Its not incredibly bulky and it has some pretty cool features. Being able to play games with friends has really helped keep me sane during this Covid-19 Pandemic and I am beyond happy with my purchase.

Great laptop for a nice hybrid between power and simplicity. I bought this computer for college and so far it has not let me down. Good battery life, even better specs with a 9th generation i7 and 16 gigs of ram. A powerful computer for when you want to play video games but not too bulky for easy transportation. The 144hz monitor and 512gb SSD are great addons to finish off an already exceptional laptop.

So I had the ROG Zephyrus, but the amd processor (zen +) kept bottle necking the 1660 TI Max q. Enter this beast right here... Intel 9th gen i7 ( my old cpu was a 4th gen i7...been awhile) Laptop version of a 1660 TI (not max Q, better spec but not quite desktop) Just wished it had an easier process to replace ssd and ram (watch the teardown)

I had been looking at the Razer Blade online and when I went to Bestbuy to see the device in person I noticed the keyboard was not an acceptable size. Then I spoke with the sales rep and they suggested the MSI GS Stealth. The keyboard was a perfect size and the performance was everything I needed. I am very happy with my purchase!

    Great Laptop... So Far

It was between this or the Asus 15.6'' Gaming Laptop which was around 1600 during the time of purchase. With reviews on both and an unpleasant experience an Asus Rog Strix GL702, MSI seemed the better choice and had a better reputation. So far, laptop is performing to my needs, which is light gaming and mainly programing/CAD software.

The screen of this device is Epic. The gtx 1660ti is plenty of GPU to be able to play the games of todays standards without a problem on mostly high/ultra settings. I had the laptop up and running to my liking within a few hours. It doesn't seem to have an issue cooling, especially running some intense games. Msi blew me away with the discrete quality, and attention to detail of the device too. They should have them on demo if you want to check it out before you purchase it. I have no complaints so far. The only thing that troubles me with this laptop is with all this power, will the battery suffice. I have not owned the device long enough, but I am skeptical of its battery performance. Other then that, I think this laptop is worth every single penny you have to pay for it. For comparison, if you take a look at the dell laptop offered by best buy with the same GPU and CPU, its about 400 bucks cheaper, and literally has half the features. The second you flip open that screen, and you can look at the insane difference between the two displays and the quality of the build of the two; its a no brainer to shell out for the way better device.
